Charlie Rose defending American imperialism is always gross. It's as if he had no integrity or access to historical information.
There’s an annoying amount of Americans who defend imperialism without even realizing they’re defending imperialism, that’s the sad part. And if you call them imperialist they’ll deny it so we’ll even they won’t believe they’re imperialist.
Said was a polymath but mainly a literary critic, not a historian. This interview is a great find.
Isn't that sort of a pointless statement? Noam Chomsky is primarily a linguist but that doesn't diminish his impressive expertise in other areas like philosophy of mind and political history.
