A great demo. Remember, at the time, video on a home computer without expensive add-ons was pretty much limited to low resolution, low colour terribleness from Encarta CDs on the School RM Nimbuses (Nimbii?). And this was on a 880KB floppy disk.
i was there, and to watch it now it looks like we went back in time and did that demo, no other demos are like this it was state of the art and fulll 9 fingers thankyou because i was so young seeing them and it means so much it to me is a work of art and should be in the TATE gallery
I still remember popping the floppy disk into my 500+ and the sound of it reading the disk instantly went way up, you could tell something amazing was about to happen... mind blowing at the time and still great now.
a beast of ECS demo...the beast? perfect music...simplified but powerfull full motion polygonized video@~25ps(sometime 50 FPS)&|cubemapping....amiga 500 isn't it? PC owners shouldn't believe their eyes at that time.... Like an uppercut....
Shame I only heard about this for the 1st time yesterday. I was a massive Amiga fan back then, how on earth did I miss it 🤔? I can't even recreate the amazement of seeing it back in the day😂
I was at the party when state of the art was revealed. Good times. This was awesome as well but state of the art kinda laid the groundwork. Amiga forever indeed.
a bbc paintbox hardware cost thousands to do this an the amiga with a vidieo capture box was doing this at a fraction of the cost i just watched it on win uae then came here
they were too busy doing ... BluREU + blu reu 3d , crest and 8bit Passion Onslaught and Cubase64 Mahoney and many more things.. besides , the Future Crew demos was ported some years ago already ;) remember 2 things... no c64.... no amiga c64 is and will always remain the biggest selling computer EVER
yes the amiga and st they were good to code on I always preferred the Amiga over the ST but the ST had a better sound chip but you could do so much with the Amiga only issues were the constant swapping of drives but now 20 years on since my AMIGA 500 & ATARI ST 1040 there still going and now have interfaces for IDE drives ect oh my ... some tech never dies and I think 16 bit systems like them will live forever.!!! Those demos 9 Fingers, Sota and Jesus on Cheese to name a few were ahead of the time for what the coding involved was.
27 years old now but still out of time! I also saw the "making of" and all that was a piece of genius work!
This reeks of 90s Euro style. And it rocks.
Remember watching this on my Amiga 500 (yes+) and was blown out of proportions :-) at the time it was a MTV video on a 880k floppy...
Two disks :)
@@ondrejsedlak4935 Ah forgot it was 2. But still :-)
I was always amazed that this was on my humble amiga, what an amazing machine!

True although this technique is very different from video.

Amiga Forever!
At the time, it was seeing video footage playing on your A500, complete with an awesome soundtrack! Unforgettable times.
Absolutely love the effect at 2min30, where the digitised image is broken down into triangles.
I do tember thuis over, as it was lightyears ahead... Still mind blowing.
Clearing out attic and came across my Amiga disks... This was one .. Awesome memories! So pleased it's on RUclips!
The best demo i have seen on amiga with state of the art RESPECT SPACEBALLS and don't forget insert disc 2 ;)

These guys contributed massively towards what we see today ✌🏼🤓
What an incredible shock it was when it came out on amiga!!
Shame I only heard about this for the 1st time yesterday.

I can't even recreate the amazement of seeing it back in the day😂
Thank you for putting up a high quality version of this!
Classic memories . the Best Amiga demo so far in the history of amiga demos
I never bored watching a rotoscoping demo on non-AGA Amiga.
spaceballs is awesome. blew my mind % still does
Agreed - one of my all time favorites for sure!
this stuff was amazing for its time
This, state of the art & hardwired! Best Demos!
Amazing
I need a time machine.
+aikydskk I think you call them 'clocks' :)
Who's is still watching this demo since 1993?
I remember I had that demo when I had an Amiga 1200!!
I was at the party when state of the art was revealed. Good times. This was awesome as well but state of the art kinda laid the groundwork. Amiga forever indeed.
+Phero Ah, yes, State of the Art... so cool!
Was there too. In Aars.
I remember how artistically shocking this one was at release. The equivalent of when a fashion house suddenly introduces a new form of fashion.
amazeballs
The muzak is so fuckin' rad! :D
I loved this when it came out!
OMG, it's twenty years old now. :-O
I forget many things from my teenage years but remember all my Amiga stuff, remember the scene, everything.
...and we are still alive.
*26
*30, going on 31
I remember this blowing my mind back in the 90's. I had never seen anything like it - and i never saw anything like it again.
Kultowe demo z Przyjaciółki.
...!!!Amiga werez!!!...
Pozdrawiam ❤
I'd be fun to see the original footages used for this demo. Ohh, hey, there IS an original footage! :)
Respect !
@fujishiba000 It was mindblowing back then, but it's not so easy to be amazed now, haha. If you look you can find the original video of this.
Best
amazing
Odpalam sobie oryginał na Amidze.
Historic!
Search for "9 fingers / spaceballs (making of)" on RUclips if you want to see it.
I missing "insrt disk 2" :D
I have that kind of box in my garage :D
like the Prodigy xD
super duper demo
LOL.
(the box bit, not the signed floppies from the party '93 bit)
Here is the 9 Fingers MAKING OF - ruclips.net/video/WgriMuXZ3QY/видео.html
Amiga pany!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
a bbc paintbox hardware cost thousands to do this an the amiga with a vidieo capture box was doing this at a fraction of the cost i just watched it on win uae then came here
That demo runs fine on OCS, there are like 5 or 6 ECS demos only anyway. You may want to fix the description! :)
Fixed :)
@@spoonwzd That was quick, thanks. =)
just..............Travolta !!!
All of his music.
RAVE
8 bits and 880 kb of disk space - what could you and your modern machine do with that?
A LOT more. You should google 4k and 64k pc demos.
Bah.
Bah? Lol! Some of that stuff is incredible!
Thorham That is true, but this Amiga demo is from 1993. And the Amiga 500 was accessible to far more people than a high end PC was back then.

St better sound chip? Mmmmm no. Atari falcon was the only atari computer that mounted a better sound chip.
only rank 4??
Still no C-64 version. I'm dissapointed.
