That moment when you're searching for the original and find a remake by the author and it's 9 years old! How have I never heard this! Brilliant! Absolutely banging!
Excellent, exquiste, and retaining the original flavor.. Thanks for putting this work of art into this remix with the visuals...the original demo was far beyond it's time, and this brings it into the new arena without changin too much, lovely!
Dude, this is awesome! I always loved Jesus on E's but after 20 years original quality is not satisfying. Until now. This is awesome, thanks for making and uploading it.
You can thank me for the existence of this remake. It was actually me* that pushed Echo (or SpoonWizard as he's now known) to make this updated high quality version of his much-loved original, and helped him source high quality versions of many of the samples for this; I was making my own high quality remake that was a little closer to the original and got in touch with him, so we pooled our resources and Echo made this. You're welcome. 😂 *seriously, no internet bullsh*ttery 😂
@@spoonwzd Hey buddy, long time no speak. How are you? 7 years later and I never did put out my own remake. I listened to your version, got massively disheartened with my own and let it languish in a long forgotten folder. However, I dug the files out last year with the intention of having another crack at it for a 30 year anniversary edition (yeah, 30 years! lol) and, unlike the vast majority of stuff I start, I've only gone and (sorta) bloody finished it! I even achieved my original aim of staying true to the original mods - patterns and length are 1:1 - and where we weren't able to re-source some of the original sounds (mainly the tiny acid'ish sounds) I've managed to spruce up the actual JoE samples enough so they don't sound too out of place while alongside high quality samples/VSTs. In fact I actually made the conscious decision to use some of the JoE samples (instead of the higher quality versions) because without the rough/raspy/crunchy texture some things just did not feel or sound right at all. Sadly I *still* haven't been able to identify that bloody opening breakbeat which means I'm still using the original... because that breakbeat, with Tubular Bells, for the opening is kinda iconic and replacing it with something unfamiliar feels wrong. And don't get me started on that sodding N-Joi piano stab!!!🤣🤣 The only *tiny* change I've made, which deviates from the original mods, is to the four patterns with the Far Out piano; I replaced the acidy/bassy sound with a simple sine bass - which gives that bit a lighter feel and allows the bright high-quality piano to shine - then brought the acidy/bassy sound back for the 2nd Messiah sample section (as per the original JoE mod) which made that section feel all the more darker and menacing. But other than that its Jesus on E's... You can play it with the original visuals and everything lines up and happens exactly when you'd expect it to. The problem, and the reason I've not released it yet, is I'm not entirely happy with the mix. It could be perfectly fine for what it is but, I dunno, I just can't get it to sound how I think it should sound when played back outside of my DAW. The problem may just be in my head so to that end, If you have a moment to spare, I'd really appreciate if I could send you a preview for you to cast an ear over, if you don't mind? Is your email address still the same?

Nice but i actually like the noistalgia of listening to the original with the seperate sounds coming from seperate speakers when listemniong to it on headphones
What a fantastic remix, the original was brilliant but the sound is greatly improved on the 16 bit quality and the 303 is perfect At least the next generation of ravers and mongos have a taste of how was in the day 👍☢️

NiekkieNick The ADF/DMS files (Disk Image) you can obtain here: janeway.exotica.org.uk/release.php?id=8934 which makes it easy to run via emulation . To get it to your actual Amiga can be much more tricky without the actual disks. You can get things to convert ADF to actual Amiga disks but that involves hardware also aminet.net/search?query=adf. My easiest bet is having an IDE? Compact Flash-card adaptors and you can easily dump everything from it. PC->Amiga.... though i do this via an A1200
***** Thanks! I do have a a1200 capable of transferring adf files to real floppies! Would love to get more of these demo's for the Amiga 500 and also the a1200 (standard a1200 with turbocard and 8mb fastram)
NiekkieNick Yeah while YT is great for watching the old classics and even better now with 50 fps support, You can't beat watching them on the real thing. Good luck!

9:32 Back in '92, we couldn't have predicted this bit wouldn't age well.
Considering the crew were named after a drug and other content they used might annoy what I lovingly call, "The Jesus fan club" that might add to it
NonceStep
I didn't even know what it came from, so I wouldn't have known who Rolf was or anything if you hadn't said something.

I love the end credits music. Great work on the whole thing!
In Its original form, this was a landmark in all sorts of fields and continues to inspire!
AAAAARRRRGGH
THE ORIGINAL CANNOT BE BETTERED
I shagged to the soundtrack......more than once
"I shagged to the soundtrack... more than once"
From now on, you, sir, are my number one legend.
Agree, the original is better (even with the sound of the two disk drives clicking away in the background)
An awesome time to grow up in.
Brilliant stuff Echo! The best ever Amiga mod just got better :) Amiga still rules!

Loved the 92 version and love this nice clear 4x4 beat remix! Well done G day!
simply amazing remastered track
amazing!! well done Echo :) x
This and State Of The Art were my two favourite demos of all time!. Well done with the remaster!.
Nine Fingers demo!
Used my Amiga back in the day to decrypt Sky Tv with a home made seasons interface, damn it was a Fooking Awesome Computer.
Nicely done remake! Used to play this demo on repeat in those days
That's a fantastic re-imagining of the original, especially my favourite passage at the 'Trance-y' part.

Hammered the original, this remake is awesome! Great work! \o/
This is brilliant, I really liked the original, but this remix is excellent. Thank you for sharing!!

I need a version of this without the Rolf Harris samples so I can play this out on the Southern Invasion show...

I'd still like an HD0 version of J.O.E's. hope someone can make an installer and put it on pouet one day :-/
quoddrophonic tunes are great in a car, had this in 1991 same as no brain no pain
shame eddie never got any credits in the original as it was some of his sample dave n darren stole that were used
this is ACE !
Tracklist please want too now what tracks used
jesus on Es 0 through 13
I thought it was not possible making high-tempo music w/ 4 channel ProTracker... Is the original demo uses separated tracker musics?
I liked the original better. no body can deny it. it is a master piece
On which Amiga is this demo running? Just a standard Amiga? Looks awesome!!
Yeah, the original is made for a standard OCS Amiga
***** Is this demo downloadable for the original Amiga 500? I still own two Amiga's. Would be great if I can get this demo running on my Amiga!

I'm guessing this version isn't running from an actual Amiga? sounds too crisp, but still good nether the less :)
Original demo synced with the music remade by the original author.

This remix has lost that 90s sound imo, the original is miles better.
Yeah, the crunchy 8-bit 22khz artefacts have been lost and some bits do sound weird for it.
No match against the original.
Why remake the audio? Paula is THE finest soundchip in all of computer history, BAR NONE, and yet you commit this BLASPHEMY!?!
so wrong
