I work in a builders merchants, you don't really get any training on anything because you are busy at the counter or on the phone. This was the first one of your vids that I've watched and it has helped me massively. Just seeing the actual stages rather than over hearing the lads talking about it when they come is really handy. Nice one
Wow! amazing video, very well explained and easy to understand for somebody who has minimal or no knowledge about extensions or the building process in general. I am planning to add a rear extension and this video has been extremely helpful! Thank you so much!
This is one of the best videos on extension I have been able to find on RUclips …..thanks . Would have loved a part 2 with fully finished product as well and cost total or in breakdown ( either way ) . Would have been awesome …. Keep up the good work
Thank you for sharing this video! Professional work you’ve explained everything well, I have just had my planning permission permitted for a 6M kitchen extension I’m looking forward to it but terrified at the same time 😂.
Excellent video and great work on the extention! Very professional and master tradesman craftsmanship at work to a high standard thanks for sharing the knowledge and experience. It would have been even better in my humble opinion if the video was done till everything was completed like interior kitchen patio doors instillation etc then a finial walk though of the totally complete finished extention. Never the less great video!
Good video, really enjoyed it. Well done lads. Im not a builder but a property developer. Not telling you how to do your job but i have not seen the roof light done like that before with so many timber joined together. AND The main one is why have you not used a Fibreglass roof for? You seriously need to look into it. So much easier and less time consuming BUT also 25 year guarantee.
Great video very well explained throughout i literally watched the whole 45 minutes. I have a question roughly this extension project how much would it cost in £
Why so deep with the foundations? Do you have to go to bedrock everytime? Or was you trying to tie to existing house foundations like in your other video?
Just out of interest, do you need a cavity tray at the bottom where the dpc layer is or not? I sometimes see that but not here? Just a question as my biggest dream is to selfbuild a house
Hi, I know house roof pitches are generally between 30-60 degrees(mostly below 45), also know flat roofs are allowed. I'd like a shallow roof, combining advantages of pitched roof (no flooding risk) with greater space flat roofs offer. Is there a minimum roof pitch requirement in the UK's building reg? Thanks in advance
@@housinauthority5258 You raised an interesting point for traditional tiled roofs, thank you Housin A. For this project, I'm thinking about SIPS on the roof for better thermal insulation with Catnic SSR2 covering it (both offer speed and lighter loading). Wind and rain shouldn't pause any problems.

Great video, thank you for posting
Very good thankyou
Thanks
Great stuff thank you
What vapour barrier was used under the warm roof insulation?
My guess is interstitial condensation is on the horizon.
You should never cross lap your felt on the roof. Your underlay should run in the same direction on your csp sheet. Which would be with the fall.
Brillaint video very informative thank you
Hi, can you please tell me if the membrane under the concrete floor is put between the first visible block and second block?thank you

Usually 12.5°. Anything lower and you risk rain coming under the tiles in windy conditions.
