Totally agree. ANA is underrated. When I travel, the first thing I do when I get to the gate is watch how the staff perform their duties and interacts with the passengers. A small gesture but highly appreciated is when the call for boarding begins. 1 or 2 employees will carry a sign with row numbers throughout the crowd of passengers informing those who are allowed to board at that time. Thats nothing more that having respect and appreciation for the customer. I live in the States but choose to fly Asian carriers every chance I can. 👍
Great informative video. I really like that you use the seat diagram to talk about the good and bad seats. Also I like the fact that you don't have those over-reactions, gimmicky special effects, and click-bait image like some of the other RUclipsrs.

Coincidentally... I booked this exact airline and seat type for my wife just yesterday for a soon upcoming flight to be followed on to Newark by United in business. It will be her first time back to visit family in three years. I will remain in Saigon. When I see flights having operated into and out of Vietnam for a few years without any further covid interruption I will consider making the trip. I am not afraid of covid... I just don't want to be separated from our pets. As usual... I enjoyed your informative video!

It's the way Japanese crew pay attention to small details that make me love flying ANA so much. Like on this flight, when they saw you filming and taking photo, they gave you some post cards and a letter. I flew the exact same flights as you in 2020, NH 834 then connected to UA 33. When I booked, it was a 787-9 but they switched it to an old 767-300ER. They had actually done it like that with me 4 times... so I haven't been able to try their 787 product yet.
Good review and I like the way that you do your intro sequences. ANA's delightful stewardesses really deserve better uniforms than the current 'Brave New World' design.
@@tfft Actually got out about 6 days later, but I’m very grateful for the extra time in Singapore, and because they already had a pandemic plan in place the whole county was open and operating as normal, save for nobody coming in.
Going to take a wild guess and predict your flight from NRT-LAX on United will not be as good as the ANA experience, this flight was exactly as one would expect with everything being "on point" always appreciate the quality of your reviews👍

I think you do a great job with your reviews. I love the service and food on ANA, and always have a good experience but I’ve never liked this seat. I find the seat pretty narrow when sleeping and as you said there isn’t much storage. The new product is obviously a much better seat but I also like the color scheme. The dark gray is very relaxing.

itsr really hard to choose between JAL and ANA. I'm told JAL has better food in business, but the ambience is very business like and serious. ANA on the ohter hand has a more consistent soft product and "feels" warmer. Or so I've heard. I think it'd be a privilege to fly either on business class. Though ANA's business is a 1-2-1 configuration which is a slight plus
If ANA's new Business Class is available on the route, that's the easy winner. If not, I'd pick JAL Apex Suites any day of the week. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

Thank you very much for the kind words. In terms of equipment, I’m not so fancy haha (don’t need to be…). I use a combination of an iPhone 13PM, 12PM, DJI Action 2 & GoPro 9 on the channel but this video was all iP13. All of the editing is iMovie and Keynote. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Thank you for this excellent review. Do the ANA flights from HNL to HND have this aircraft/configuration of business class? Do they swap equipment without notice? I am traveling with my parents and I want them to be very comfortable as they are older.
Of course it’s always subject to aircraft changes but generally this is the same aircraft that would fly from Haneda (not Narita…). Except for their regional planes though- which I can’t imagine them ever deploying to Hawaii, all of their long haul aircraft have this configuration (or better…).
This is a nice and helpful review of the business class product on ANA. However, the video suffers from the same fault that many other reviews share: too much time is spent on what the airport looks like, the lounge in a specific airport, and the walk to the jetway. I turn to these reviews to see what the product is like, I don't particularly care to watch the superfluous items. One takeoff looks pretty much the same as any other takeoff in my book.
You'll see the walk down the jetbridge (and other similar scenes) in every trip report known to man becuase we as content creators can see in our analytics that that is where people rewatch the most. I agree with most of what you said, but at the end of the day it's a simple case of supply and demand. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

At the time of my flight it was mainly 787 from Narita and a mix from Haneda. The 787-9 and 777 (old config) products are practically identical- but when comparing any 787 to the newly configured 777s with “The Room” I think there’s no comparison, the new 777s win by a mile. That said, Even the older product like in my video is really comfortable for any flight length. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Haven’t specifically looked into which airlines are code sharing this flight but sure, United and Air Canada (I think that’s what you meant by ACA) would make sense as they don’t fly to SGN and they’re all Star Alliance.

On longer flights- for me 10 hours or longer- I’ll have a few Vodka Sodas if I plan on sleeping, but generally I avoid sugar on flights as it (plus the alcohol) has a direct effect on how long my jet lag lasts. For shorter flights I’m generally filming for quite a good chunk of the flight (for this channel and my other new one) so it’s just not practical. I have quite a few long haul business/first flights coming up throughout the rest of this year and when I see something on the drink menu that’s truly special to that airline/service/country I’ll give it a try and share. FFT, I respectfully disagree in terms of the best business seat. I think seat 6K, is better choice, the seat is by the window and the near toilet is only 3 steps away, you can`t go wrong with seat Kilo 6, my good man!

Does anyone know, for ANA long-haul in business class, if the departure is midnight and you want to sleep right away, can you ask for the first meal to be held for later, say after 5-6 hours of sleeping? Thx!
My guess is the official policy would suggest fixed dining times- but once on board I highly doubt they'd deny your request. Also, Japanese carriers are pretty good at timing meal services- on late night flights I've had with them, they'll usually have a snack or supper service first and the full service will be later on in the flight. Several well traveled folks told me the midnight flight out of LAX would serve less food than the 11:30am flight, so I decided against The Room in favor of more food and better arrival time. It was a great first ANA experience. I can’t wait to find a way to book The Room next time.

Never fly ANA Business and have a layover for a long time because they won’t let you enter the lounge until the next day when you’re plane departs which to me makes no sense I had a layover in Tokyo heading to Manila for 18 hours and when I got to lounge around 4:00pm they said I had to wait until 5:00am to enter the seats are old and they had tape holding things together in my seat in business class the food is mid at most but the service was great on the plane the only thing that was worth the money I spent
