    This was a really great video. Your studio space and advice is very well thought of and presented. I have a large space in our house which I use sometimes for corporate or families but as I mostly shoot clients on site or outdoors, I didnt convert the space and set up wall mounts but was planning to. Its tough to make lightstands fit, so these wall mounts are great. The backdrop system is a plan too as setting up my 270cm seamless each time is such a task, and changing it is too complex. Thanks. You have boosted me to make some changes. Keep up the great videos. Your pics a genuine and lovely, one pro to another. I also like the choice of grey walls and the advice on humidity.

    Good stuff Luca. Instead of painting the ceiling black, you should consider screwing a 3x4m grey rug up there. The carpet will help you with your light fall off as well as clean up the audio acoustics in your video work.

    • @LucaLombardiPhoto
      @LucaLombardiPhoto  Год назад +1

      Thank you! Technically you can mix strobes and video lights, but you'd need to power down as much as possible the strobes, max power on the video lights, longer shutter speed to allow the light of video lights to hit the sensor, so you might have blurred images and weak results. My suggestion is to avoid the headache and always use strobes. Money-saving tip, since you have already a ad400, if you don't want to spend too much buying other 2, buy 2 cheap ebay strobes with a OPTICAL CELL, so that they will get triggered by the flashing of your main strobe. Of course you'll have to manually set the power of the cheap ones, but who cares... My 2 strobes in the softboxes are cheap "quantuum" (with 2 U), a sort of Ebay brand, bought in 2010 for peanuts

I do boudoir and fetish shootings, i need lots of stuff to create the atmosphere, more room is needed. I see you have a very high ceiling. Normal homes do not have this hich is a problem if the model is standing as the light has to come from above.

    Thanks so much Luca for sharing this video. Presently I am a sport photographer with plans to shoot portraits and full body "sports traits". For this I need a studio. After watching your video, I can see a portion of my three bay garage being made into a studio. Presently I keep my Cobra car in one bay on a four post car lift. I may sell the lift, as I sold the boat I used to keep under the Cobra and no longer need the lift. The funds from the lift will serve to defray some costs associated with making the studio. And, because I planned the car lift when I designed the house, the garage ceilings are 12ft tall. I have accumulated many light modifiers and strobes over the years as I've set up temporary "studios" in my living room. Thanks again for the well done video which has given me inspiration.
