there are two rendering issues i guess, one on starpad and one on swamp (the video just gets choppy and idk why)

I always imagine the NPCs are real people and are astonished by the view of this ketamine fueled speed rampage through imperial outposts. Great job with the speedrun mate

I've played 1500 hours of Quake Live, and that jump on the big metal garbage can in ns_hideout, to get to the password room, is some unbelievably crazy shit. I tried to hit it for like an hour yesterday and I never got it right once.
That is unbelievable, so much creativity into this run. I don't understand half the tricks and that is really fascinating!!!
I remeber playing this as a teenager.
It also took me just 35 minutes to finish...

you know this is something a jedi/sith at its prime would absolutely be able to do... imagine we get a movie where the main character has to do something like a specific planet quest and he would pop off like this, force speeds, insane force jump, skipping killing all the soldiers with lightsaber.. he would meditate about the route he needs to take and then later he would just smash the hell out of it.. man that would be SO COOL

during the dialogue of kyle picking up his saber, for some reason you can just change to blue style lol
when you are so fast only loading screen can slow you down

Amazing run. It helps to learn a lot of cool techs. Btw do you use any texture mods or something, because the game looks much better than on my pc :/
thank you! no mods were used other than the official client (Speed Outcast). I don't even think im on max settings in this run :o

21:50 the fight against Tavion: I might be mistaken, but as far as I know, you don't get the blue lightsaber form at Bespin? I thought you'd first get it in the next level?
If you switch saber styles during the dialog of picking the saber up initially on yavin_trial, you can change to blue style early

This dude literally completed the first level in less than a minute were any normal player probably needs about one hour.

im sure he use g_speed 300 (default is 250)
nope its vanilla settings except sv_fps 125. all allowed settings can be seen in the rules on speedrun.com/jk2
not only that but g_speed is cheat protected (just had to check), and the client we use would show "CHEATS ENABLED" in the top right of the screen
EDIT: just tried this command and it seems to only effect ground speed, not sure it would make the run any faster due to how little I stay in contact with the ground throughout the run. though it would make prestrafes faster ect

How did you skip Galak's boss fight?
If you use a seeker through the final door of the level it hits the end trigger :) only level in the entire game it works

It's the jump exploit.
Essentially, you have to press w+d (jump to right) or w+a (jump left) while jumping and shifting your mouse left and right, the faster you do this, the more you get speed (thus being able to go across the map in mere seconds), due of a bug in the game engine.
There's also the quicksave trick that gives you a bonus in speed.
It's called "strafe jumping".

no cheating, I could launch your version of the game and change zero settings and do the exact same thing.

played on padawan so its acutally like 0 skill needed. also fake, you used quicksafe quake load at least two times.

you can change your saber style while kyle is picking up the saber for the first time, this is what happens
