the quality will be much, much better during the marathon! i just used bad render settings :( stream will be in 60 fps. i can totally re-record the run and render it better if this wont suffice for a submission
seeker buffering/seekersave

tldr; if you look straight down or up and pop a seeker, it wont spawn until you make an input.

Thank you for this video ! espacially for the Lando part that I usually fail without knowing why.
y'all should try this game in VR
i did very recently, pretty cool!
this game is nothing but pure love. nice vid
How much time it will require on max difficulty? 6:33 why they stopped shooting ?
all max difficulty does is make enemies harder to kill, more accurate, and reduce your hp. would only make the run more annoying and much less enjoyable and fun to watch. they stopped shooting right there because we are holding the officer hostage haha
@@smash359 hah, hostage =D I thought game is bagged )))
How do they get such a big speed boost right from the beginning? I know about bunny hop and can do it myself, but I was absolutely unable to replicate a movement like the author's in the game.
lots and lots of practice, prestrafing is a massive part of this game
Annoying BGM
@smash359 Hello, just going around to say... what a legend you are..playing my old fav game and , also I found some amazing liquid dnb songs, thanks to you <3
Explain what you done here 32:37 i cant seem to copy your technique
@@icymate3690 you use a seeker drone through the door and step back, allowing it to hit the end level trigger. see the full game tutorial on my channel for a better explanation
Yeah, it took me like exactly 12 hours and around 800 save games :D
nope it took 34 minutes and 45 seconds and i did it live on twitch
@@smash359 No, I mean, for myself, I just played this game recently for nostalgia.
Question: "How can you see that the game is based on the Quake III Engine?" Answer: "henp henp henp henp henp henp henp henp" 😅
Great run. How did you get fast saber style from the start?
Stormtroopers really cant hit nothing
Unpin the comment of this infidel and pin mine! This speedrun has nothing to do with the "juxtaposition of speedrunning and modern philosophy". It is what it is. Speedrunning, the art of completing a game as quickly as humanly possible, often seems like a peculiar pursuit to the uninitiated. Yet, within the world of gaming, it is a revered and competitive sport, a place where milliseconds are the measure of legends. Among the pantheon of speedrunning, "Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast" stands out as a beloved and challenging title, drawing both seasoned veterans and eager newcomers to its pixelated battlegrounds. The Enigmatic Appeal of Speedrunning Why do people speedrun games? It’s a question with many answers, each more fascinating than the last. For some, it’s about the thrill of competition, the adrenaline rush of beating a timer. For others, it's a love for the game, a desire to explore every nook and cranny, exploit every glitch, and master every mechanic. And then there are those like Vryndar, who, in a tale as old as the internet itself, seek to reclaim lost glory and vanquish current champions. In Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast, the speedrunning community has cultivated a niche yet passionate following. The game, with its intricate level design, force powers, and lightsaber combat, offers a rich playground for those looking to shave off precious seconds. The satisfaction of executing a perfect sequence of moves, discovering a new glitch, or simply seeing your name climb the leaderboards is an experience that keeps speedrunners coming back. Vryndar's Epic Saga Vryndar, a name whispered in reverence within the Jedi Outcast speedrunning forums, is a top-tier runner with a storied past. His journey through the game is the stuff of legend-his fingers once danced across the keyboard with a grace that seemed almost Jedi-like. But as with many great stories, Vryndar’s saga faced a dramatic twist when he stepped away from the scene, leaving the throne to a new champion: Smash. Smash, the current world record holder, embodies everything a speedrunner aspires to be. His runs are clean, his tactics innovative, and his determination unyielding. The record he set seemed insurmountable, a testament to his skill and dedication. But in the shadows, Vryndar has been plotting his return, a comeback that could shake the very foundations of the speedrunning community. The Return of the King Vryndar’s comeback is fueled by a mix of nostalgia, competitive spirit, and a desire to reclaim his title. He has been honing his skills, studying Smash’s runs with the intensity of a Jedi Master studying the ancient texts. His aim is not just to beat Smash’s record but to obliterate it, to set a time so formidable that it becomes the stuff of legend. Why do people speedrun? For Vryndar, it's about unfinished business and the pursuit of excellence. The game is more than just a collection of pixels; it’s a canvas for his artistry, a stage for his drama. His return promises not only thrilling runs but also a riveting narrative-a tale of a fallen champion rising once more to challenge the best. The Community’s Role The community surrounding Jedi Outcast is a vital part of this narrative. Forums buzz with speculation about Vryndar’s return, Twitch streams see an uptick in viewers whenever he practices, and fellow runners offer tips and encouragement. Speedrunning is, after all, a communal effort. Records are celebrated, strategies shared, and every runner’s success is seen as a win for the entire community. Smash, too, is not just an opponent but a respected peer. The dynamic between him and Vryndar is one of mutual respect and shared passion. Smash’s record has pushed Vryndar to be better, and in turn, Vryndar’s quest will push Smash to defend his title with even greater zeal. Conclusion Speedrunning Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast is more than a hobby; it's a testament to the enduring appeal of video games and the communities they foster. For Vryndar, it’s a chance to rewrite history, to etch his name once more in the annals of speedrunning lore. For the community, it’s a thrilling saga of rivalry and redemption, a reminder of why they fell in love with speedrunning in the first place. So, as Vryndar steps back into the virtual halls of Jedi Outcast, lightsaber in hand and stopwatch ticking, we watch with bated breath. Will he topple Smash and reclaim his crown? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain: the journey will be as exciting as the destination.
Look I'm not one to get into trivial fights over on the internet over poorly written AI dribble. But I do want to say that the Smash I know would NEVER pin the comment of a known MBII cheater.
@@DrMeowingtonMD AI? It was written by monkeys. It took them 4 quintillion years to compose this masterpiece
thanks
I think you press L to change stance as a glitch right after you take your lightsaber
yeah you get a few seconds after obtaining it to pick which stance you want before it locks

Just watching that. In my head... impressive, most impressive. Also me. Excuse me what?! Now that's just plain rude.
watching you do topside is so awesome every time
This speedrun makes me wanna get some HEMPH
OK, to put into context, I've just completed this game using walkthroughs, and it took me about a week with a lot of confusion and difficulty (as its reknown for being a maze), and you've just speedrun it in about 35 minutes. I didn't even think this game (compared to DF2) could even BE speedrun. Jesus dude!!! 😅😅
Bruh my whole childhood spending a decent couple hours playing one of my favorite games............and then there's this 😳

Nice one. How did you skip doomgiver shields so fast?
Imperials decided to negotiate a peace treaty after reviewing the security footage
Why doesn't the sith guys force pushed those nades back at you? Didn't they do that in this game?
every sith has different force level values and all react differently to actions such as grenades being thrown at them. im pretty sure this reborn has the lowest force level possible, mostly put there to introduce you to saber vs saber combat as it is the first sith you run into.
When Jan Ors says her parents arent home
Jedi Master is back !!! But where is that Liquid DnB ????!!! We need it man ! ❤

You're so right ! the guy is oviusly using a wall hack
What is the hidden meaning/theme behind your speedruns btw? To me your runs speak to the eagerness at which we approach life. In speedrunning the goal is to finish as fast as possible, which serves as an excellent juxtaposition to modern popular culture philosophy on enjoying every day, which prefers relishing each moment. Yes, you get multiple attempts in a speedrun, but not so in life. In speedrunning JK2 you have the impending return of Vryndar who will beat all of your runs easily, so you have to get a perfect run before he comes back. I believe Vryndar's reappearance represents the imminent close of death. Please pin my comment to spread the true meaning of speedrunning.
bean burrito ✅
wait i think i saw this in a dream
btw i also had a dream where kyle and lando teamed up to fight systemic oppression. wait can you do a speedrun based on ending racism?
wait no maybe i didn't
@@DrMeowingtonMD yeah you did (im kyle)
not bad, not bad.... looks like cheating to me ?? anyway ggs, I guess.. (<3)

this is a conspiracy theory pushed by the republican agenda 🧐
And again you have reminded me how deep in the shit I am;/ GG
Okay, fine, I'll watch it again, twist my arm why dontcha...
i’m sorry 😂 i’ll be doing runs again soon, ppl are gunna start catching up to me again. good runners active rn

Honestly I love watching JK2 runs and I’ve definitely watched this one at least a couple times, can’t wait until the next WR 🙌🏻
Tbh I’d love to join in the race, but I don’t know if I have the patience right now to learn the fundamentals, I still haven’t figured out consistent strafe jumping. Maybe one day. For now I content myself with watching the competition. :)
@@Overcrox wait till you get to some serious skips :kekw: I can't replay theirs moves and I don't even want to think how they found those stuff
wow no way you just got the same time again? dude insane GG
yeah i’ve been playing with my feet instead of hands and tied wr pretty easily
@@smash359im pretty sure you're joking but in case you're not, that's insane
Smash feet cam. 😳😳😳
31:13 AHAHAHA
I am not familiar with speedruns. Using so many keybinded console commands doesn't count as cheating?
no, none of the commands used are cheat protected (none use helpusobi 1, which enables cheats) all commands that are bound can be achieved organically some way or another (vid_restart happens when you change from windowed to fullscreen, so the same effect could be achieved without having a bind. soundstop, or a similar effect, occurs when the blade of the.saber interacts with any surface). It's all basically just quality of life binds that don't effect the run positively or negatively.
@@smash359 Thanks
Still the best SW game ever made
Bro I hate how they use that jump cheat man it’s not even a real play through. Never understood speed runs. Seems more like work than a game
no cheating, I could launch your version of the game and change zero settings and do the exact same thing.
@@smash359 aint no way bro. Kyle cannot jumó that far the way you do in the first few pre force powers levels
@@cosinguspalpatine4449 oh yes he can! you. just gotta strafe jump and gain speed like.i do, force jump.0 doesnt have any height but there is still no speed cap
Holy crap I forgot how big the first level was!
Lol dumb question but how do you move so fast. It’s great watching someone beat a game I struggled so much so fast
essentially you gain speed by moving your mouse left to right and holding W+A and W+D (there is an optimal rate of turning to gain max speed). the technique is commonly referred to as bunnyhopping and strafe jumping. Possible in many games from this era with different technicalities
@@smash359oh awesome! Thanks for the reply
