I also used that service for luggage delivery from hotel to hotel. I just want to say how convenient it is, specially when you start accumulating items you are bringing back. The hotel desk can help you fill out the form. If staying at hostels you can contact them ahead of time to arrange it.
spending the last day at an onsen after you check out is an amazing idea! i wish i had thought of that when i was there last year. we had a 9pm flight so we paid extra to checkout at 1pm plus more to store our bags while we went out for lunch and shopping. i had even considered paying an extra night but our apartment wasn't available. it prob wouldve been cheaper and more relaxing to go to an onsen

I like to stay at the airport the night before leaving, so I check in to a capsule hotel, like the 9 Hours at Narita terminal 2.
Then I just walking around and I always end up at the observation deck with some snacks and couple of beers from the konbini, aah, perfect way to say good bye to Japan.
And no stress the next morning.

Suica/Pasmo card is valid for 10 years so just bring it home then use it on your next trip. I have been to Japan 3 times. 4th trip this November and 5th on Feb 2020!
Exact thing we do. Plus it can be kept as a souvenir as well.
I think for 200 Yen or so, you can have name written on it....I always have a MMYYYY as a souvenir...then I get different ones each trip....but I use up the value at 7-11 or family mart getting drinks and stuff so its a "blank value" card I keep....
A lot of people will only visit a country once.
@@scwhk1 It depends on where you are and where you wanna go...I have visited Japan quite a few times....even walked the stretch of "weekend" Ginza at least twice per season, less to mention other parts of Tokyo or Japan itself...

Oh man, I really want to visit Japan. My brother went there a year ago and when he told me about his trip I asked him to visit places that I want to go, like Kyoto (Temples, shrines, etc), Hiroshima (Museums, ground zero, etc), Osaka, the bar life in Tokyo and also, as a MUST, the Gundam Unicorn statue in Odaiba (Huge Gundam fan myself). I think he saw some of your videos and when I recently discovered your channel and shared it with him, he told me he did saw some of them, which helped him A LOT!!!

For Haneda Airport, make sure you get food BEFORE you go through security, the options are so much better! There is a super good tonkatsu place if you turn left after going up the escalator from the check in desks

Just got back from Tokyo and found your videos really useful for planning that trip, thanks! I ate at that Tsukemen restaurant and loved it as well. In terms of luggage, I used Sagawa to store and ship luggage from Tokyo station to Narita since we wanted a lighter load when we went to Kyoto for a couple of days. Very easy service to use even with the language barrier.
Also note, most travelers from the USA fully expect the airport food and drinks to be marked up 2x to 3x above normal price. Not so in Narita! The 7-11 in the secure area had normal prices for everything, including the awesome egg sandwich!
Also note that there's a new Suica card called "Welcome Suica" which doesn't have the 500 yen deposit but you can't return it and it expires after ~28 days. They sell it at the airports so it can get confusing which Suica you end up getting. Just don't load too much money on it and at the end of the trip, buy a bunch of egg sandwiches at the airport 7-11 with the remaining balance!

Great Video Paolo! Very useful, as a former airline staff I really enjoyed it! Full of very convenient and helpful informations to travel the easy way. I loved the change machine, what a great idea. Every Big International airpirt should at least have a couple of them. It was a great idea to mention it in your video. I wish I could watch this video before we came back from Japan at last night. (Damn! This video came out yesterday!) We stayed there (Tokyo, Kyoto and Okinawa) for one month. Originally I’m from Japan but had been in nyc for 20yrs so I don’t know so much about Japan anymore! I watched all your videos (every Friday night in nyc) and of course we watched some episodes again before leaving US and while we were staying in Japan too!
