Tom Hanks is diabetic and everyone around him was celebrating with champagne and he can't really have it so he asked them to just give him a splash into the cup he already had which was Diet Coke so he could participate in the toast. I saw this in an interview

Another tip that many don't think about with overnights oats, is that if cold oatmeal isn't your thing, you can always warm it up in the microwave to make them warm

  • @1412mariLU
    @1412mariLU Год назад +82

The overnight oats is a Swiss classic breakfast food, called "Birchermüesli".
You take oats, add (ground) nuts, raisins, cubed or grated apples and other seasonal fruit, youghurt, if you want to you can also add spice (like cinammon) and milk and leave it in a bowl for a few hours or over night.
You could roast the oats and nuts but usually we just throw everything into a bowl.
On hot summer days my family would also sometimes have that as a light, cold dinner.

Love the pasta recipe, but in addition to Chris' suggestion of adding lemon zest, I'd also add cracked black pepper (adds a little texture as well as taste) and/or Romano cheese instead of Parm to lessen the saltiness a bit. Another option for this is not to add salt, but capers for a slightly briny quality.

Making scrambled eggs that have been whipped in a blender is a game changer especially if you have arthritis like me. I cracked a dozen eggs into a bullet blender one night while watching my nephews who are very picky, even with the foods they love, and they love cheesy scrambled eggs. You get fluffier eggs if they're room temp but because the blender adds just enough heat to bring them to room temp you can blend them right out of the fridge & they get tons of air whipped into them so they cook up beautifully fluffy & light & for some reason faster.

For the Gordan Ramsey Oats it's the same as his normal oven baked oats (plus Chia seeds) but instead of the egg mixture you'd use for oven baked oats you use milk, nut butter & Greek yogurt for the overnight part. (The overnight oats video even uses the same footage as the oven baked oats until you get to the baking dish or jar part)
    400 grams old-fashioned rolled oats
100 grams mixed nuts, such as pepitas, pistachios and slivered almonds
40 grams coconut flakes or cacao nibs
100 grams mixed dried fruit, such as golden raisins, currants and apricots
40 grams butter or coconut oil

I feel you about the overnight oats, like I enjoy the texture & flavour, but can’t get over the temperature! I usually just warm it up a little in the microwave to kind of take the chill off and the slight warmth really works for me. Also on the overnight oats recipe, I think the idea is that you have a stash of that yummy granola in a sealed jar for example and then just make the overnight oats part with it, which makes it much quicker and you could meal prep :)

I make a lot of different creamy coffee drinks (Especially iced ones) and I always use a handheld milk frother to mix whatever type of milk or cream, with the sugar or sweetener. and then add it to the coffee drink (or vice versa). I acutally use Monk Fruit sweetener though because I like my drinks kind of sweet and the Monk Fruit sweetener doesn't really spike my blood sugar but tastes the closest to what I remember actual sugar tasting like (Unlike stevia that tastes too chemically to me). I think doing that step might keep your coconut milk mixture from being clumpy. I have not yet tried that as a creamer but will be doing so. Thanks again for some new ideas to try.

I know this is a year old but a quick tip. The Parchment you already used for roasting the oats and stuff can be reused you could have used it and poured your oat mixture on it and poured it that way and not need a funnel or take extra time scooping. I'm pastry shool we do this while siftinf flour and things too so it keeps the counter clean and you guarantee it goes straight into the bowl. You sift right on to the Parchment you'll use for baking and it's easier to pour into your stand mixer or mixing bowl. Who needs funnels!!?

Overnight oats are amazing if you're meal prepping or too busy in the morning to make breakfast. Skip the granola and just use oats and with a oats to water ratio or 1:1. then add greek yogurt or protein powder for protein. either add your toppings and eat out of the jar or pour into a bowl and then add toppings. I personally love warm oats so overnight oats isn't as appealing to me but you could also warm them up in the morning. this is a great way to eat rolled oats instead of instant oats which at 5000000x better.

This is how my Mum and I make eggs. We always sieve the eggs for scrambled eggs. And cook them in LOADS of butter!

Hey gurl, not sure what salt you're using but it looks real heavy. Diamond Crystal Kosher is the gold standard for all chefs in the states - not a plug - I'm a chef : ) and using something different could drastically change the outcome of your recipe. LOVE your work, thanks for making my Saturdays great.

Rachel great video but I suggest trying good old Ramseys scrambled eggs… same ingredients you would normally use however you consistently stir but going on and off the heat, makes it kinda cheesy but still the flavours you love! Best of all you can use oil, butter or oil & butter without using more then you normally would xxx

Lol my overnight oats are just oats with enough milk to cover in a jar, some honey, maybe peanut butter, cinnamon, and brown sugar. I just chuck it all together I stick it in the fridge

Five weeks ago my hubby and I had stomach surgery and the one thing we got told to experiment with is over night oats and I have to admit one I’ve put into regular rotation is peanut butter powder and honey over night oats (sorry Rachel) but I’m very intrigued to try Gordon’s but I’ll have to wait till I’m onto the ‘normal’ phase and not soft phase of the process

A great addition to overnight oats is chia seeds. Also, you should try the strawberry cheesecake overnight oats 😍

So you can make a big potion of the granola. that way when you feel like it you just mix milk yoghurt at granola for the next day

I make overnight oats all the time. I made a pumpkin spice one and it was delicious, looks disgusting tbh, but it’s delicious. Also blueberry and lemons…and I always have chia seeds. Although I do not toast any of the oats, but when it comes to the blueberry one, I put frozen blueberries (or even mixed berries) in the microwave for a minute then mix it all together. I’m going to have to try Gordon Ramsay’s recipe bc it also looks yummy. You can also put it in the microwave if you don’t like to eat it cold.
    20:43 - why can’t I finish anything?
20:58-why are rich people so stupid?
Christopher wins for best quotes of the video!!!

Rachel you need to make chocolate chip cookie dough oats.
1/2 cup oats. 1/2 milk of choice. 1/4 yogurt. 1-2 tablespoons non nut butter of choice. 1-2 tablespoon chocolate chips. 1 tablespoon brown sugar. 1/2 tablespoon chia seeds. 1 teaspoon vanilla. 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Pinch of salt. Dump it all together, mix, leave overnight. Enjoy.
