  • A stunning courtroom moment in Alex Jones’ defamation trial. The lawyer for Sandy Hook parents reveals in court that Jones’ lawyer accidentally sent him texts and emails from his cell phone. The bombshell twist proved Jones wasn’t telling the truth in prior statements. MSNBC’s Chief Legal Correspondent Ari Melber reports on this shocking moment and the high stakes in this trial. Daily Beast reporter Will Sommer joins, adding Jones “has shown on the stand to be a liar.”

They 100% did, it's not as if they didn't have the ability to protect the leaked texts after they were 'accidentally' shared. The prosecution even asked if they wanted that information retracted and they didn't respond. The lawyers are risking being disbarred, there's a good chance they will be but that is the level of scum they were tasked to defend and I guess they just couldn't stomach helping Alex Jones continue his nonsense.

      2) Also sending the messages, for any reason, might merit disbarment, but even without it could be a career-ending move, because it completely destroys their credibility. Like who would want to hire a lawyer that intentionally ruins their client, or just can't handle confidential information?
My money says the lawyers are tech inept boomers who legit messed up. Or maybe they asked a temp or an intern to send it, and that person messed up. Regardless of who, I can't see anyone intentionally sending it. The repercussions are just too severe.

I can't say I fully understand it, but ... Decision of "damages"/"monetary damages" (something like that) was made today by the jury, and then the "punitive" (or the punishment) damages/"non-monetary damages" will be decided by the jury tomorrow or soon after. Also, the jury can decide the punitive damages to be an *additional* monetary amount (on top of the $4.1 million decided today), if they so choose. ... (The only term for this case that I know, for sure, is the word "punitive"). ... And...
I haven't listened to the judge today. Maybe the judge explains all of that, or maybe this was explained at the beginning of the trial or sometime before that.

One of the most important things we can do to try to have access to as accurate information as possible is to pay very, very close attention to the information that's available to us. Skepticism is a must, but it's easier than one would think to be unaware of faulty information that can slip past even the most vigilant among us. If we, for even a second, let certain happenings and/or peoples behavior affect our logic/reasoning skills, or take someone else's opinion at face value, (which is real easy to do especially when it's people who's opinion you respect), you have to stop, do the research from every source there is and even if every one of your nerve endings is screaming with the discomfort of cognitive dissonance and mind bending confirmation bias. If you turn up zilch, you've learned some really important stuff about yourself. But, I can pretty much guarantee you will learn some things that you'll may wish you you hadn't.
