Chris CJC I became a Saints' and Pelicans' (then Hornets) fan after Katrina hit. I live in Miami and Katrina hit us pretty good. When it hit NOLA, I felt for them because after seeing the little damage it did to us, I couldn't imagine how it left NOLA. Seeing wasn't good enough. For years and to this day, I ALWAYS get talked about because I love NOLA. "They suck", "They're bums", people calling me a bandwagon jumper, heard it all. Saints and Pelicans, I LOVE NOLA. Seeing that city respond when they returned to the Dome, people crying and emotional, that sealed it. I LOVE NEW ORLEANS, I love the team(s), and I am not going anywhere. I respect you all and proud to be with these 2 fan bases. #WHODAT #takeflight
I have always been a NO fan but any football fan has respect for Farve. He is just one of the greatest to do it but the pressure and the hits we laid on the man was almost hard to watch. He was getting pounded from all angles and was slow to get up all game and ( NOT TO JINX) 2017 season we are looking great.. IF we can just get a few more defensive weapons I feel a dynasty coming on!!!! Neauxla
Chris CJC I'm not from New Orleans but i visit there all the time... I've been a fan pretty much all my life... so permit me to explain that that kick... the whole season... gives me goosebumps even in 2018... the same goosebumps i hope to have in three weeks when Al Michaels declares us Super Bowl LII Champions and we bring #2 back to town #1
I can never get tired of watching this. This game was on my 27th birthday. Jim Henderson's excitement when he yells, "IT'S GOOD IT'S GOOD IT'S GOOOOOOOD" always sends shivers through my veins.
Best day of my life in high school. I said every game we were going to the Super Bowl. I just believed!!! And this school night magic happened I cried y’all 😂
CrowLife Cynn I’m with you on that!I told my mother all that season I KNEW the saints would win it all!Even though they lost the last 3 games of the season. They did it...being born and raised in New Orleans it was honestly the greatest feeling in the world when they made it to and won the super bowl.I heard it all “Aint’s” they suck. But they won!
Pyro Muzíque lol I believe it. My locker neighbor was a failcunt fan and after every win I’d say to him you know we’re going to the super bowl right. He didn’t believe me but boy when we won!!!! I came in XLIV DOWN 😂
This never gets old I will never forget that night we made history as a franchise and for our city and our reward afterwards was winning SB 44 it was just epic and a blessing I'm hungry for another SB salute to the Saints #WhoDat ⚜💯
If you think the New Orleans Saints are the only ones to do so, you are mistaken. Getting back the ball is ultimately the goal of ANY defense, or at least stopping it. What better way than to go for the quarterback? Hit 'em hard! Farve has my respects, and was one of the greatest QB's of all time, but our defense wanted him. And why? To win of course. Even if we had no bounty, you think our (or any other) defense is going to hold back? I don't think so, bud.
I’m going to miss Sean Payton. He brought us from Aints to SAINTS! He brought the Saints respect with an NFC Championship and Super Bowl win. He gave the city hope after Hurricane Katrina. He would have done more if the people in the NFL offices weren’t working against the Saints over the past decade. Nonetheless, I thank him for what he did for the team and the city.
To all the Vikings fans still crying about "illegal hits". First off they were legal except for one and the player that hit favre was fined. Second of all its not our fault that your O line cant protect your 40 year old quarterback from getting drilled on almost every pass attempt .And yes we know that the Vikings pretty much gave us the game and we thank them for that so stop whining football is a contact sport. If you dont like ppl getting hurt dont watch football.
This game is on my saints dvd i root for the saints in the game rather then the vikings well vikings fans your dream almost came true Go Saints! P.S. Remember 2009 saints fans
We may have loved Archie because he was our first round draft choice he played so hard for us and never pointed fingers at anyone after a loss he always said he could've done something different. We may have love Bobby Hebert because he was from the Louisiana bayou and swampland and talked like the Cajun that he was. But we love Drew Brees because he brought rebirth to our city and to our team not to mention that he's the best quarterback of all time holding all the records. He is our hero......
❤❤❤❤❤ I love it and it can still get me emotional....that said, post bountygate it is a bit toughseeingold man favre take someofthose late hits, and seeing how much favre could take and not throw in the towel gave me a new respect for him.....yeah it was common practice across the league in various degrees and the saints had the misfortune of getting highlighted for it (complete with audio records......) But that was the way of the gridiron...... just some thoughts after rewatching nearly 15 years later. Respect and love for all of em.
I hope we go all the way. God Bless you boys. I hope all the haters everywhere from my work haha to the NFL Network shut the hell up as we WIN the Superbowl and show them we truly are not just Champions....but HEROS!
2006 was our second best year. We lost against The Bears in the NFCCG that year. In the 2009 year, The Bears were the ones that knocked The Vikings from becoming #1 seed, giving it to us. The Superbowl in 2006 was in Miami: Colts vs Bears. The Colts won. In 2009, The Saints faced The Colts in the SAME place as they almost got to in 2006. I think that's just something! The Saints were meant to face The Colts in The Superbowl.
@Parahdoks92 I also find it very ironic that Peyton Manning's favorite team when he was younger was The New Orleans Saints. His dad, Archie Manning was a legendary quarterback for The Saints, too. Brett Farve was also a Saints fan when he was younger, too. It must have been hard for these great quarterbacks to face their childhood team. Even if you get paid millions, it still must have been tough when you were in the way of your childhood team's first world championship.
Bless You Boys!!! Now go tame some colts!!!! : ) You've worked so hard and we're all so proud of you! Thank you with all our hearts!!! Now, go tame those colts!!! : )
Hahaha...I love how at 11.40 the mascot tries to pat Reggie on the back and falls flat on his face...Man, that game was something else...Geaux win it all now boys!
The week before the Vikings fans had bragged about their defense beating up on Romo, then they whined about the Saints beating up on Farve. Funny. Farve is a true Viking, he woke up the next morning with a purple ankle, purple ribs, purple shoulder, and purple hip.
I was really happy for the Saints winning this game and the Super Bowl. As a Lions fan I can understand their plight as Saints fans. With that said, it's just GOTTA be the Lions turn for the miracle season in this new decade, right......! lol.
“This is for everybody in this city, this stadium used to have holes in it used to be wet. It’s not wet anymore. This is for the city of New Orleans!” -Sean Payton I get chills every time I hear that!
@Zurithehuskey Honestly, I love the emotion these guys put into their radio or local live broadcasting when they're watching the game. "Pigs have flown! Hell has frozen over! The Saints are on their way to The Superbowl!" Such emotion put into their words! Mad or Overly-Joyed, it's just a feeling you get when you hear others react to their team. I remember this game, and it was like.. AWESOME!
Tracy porters pick, was just one of the many signs that the saints were destined to go all the way this year, along with robert meachems strip and score vs redskins, and also the saints coming back from 21 points down to defeat miami!!!!
calling 12 guys in the huddle was BRILLANT! what a team win. the vikings did just as much to lose as was necessary, and you cant do that in the playoffs. they had a chance, but muffed it about 5 times
@johnLSU i was glad he noticed that that's funny the whole game the refs called flags on the saints but when the vikings did somthing the ref isn't paying attention and sean payton had to force the ref to call the flag.
all the favre haters need to google his injury photos from that missed high low and you'll see why he threw that last pick instead of running it or even making a descent throw. how was he even walking? what you will also see is why it is illegal to hit a quarterback below the knees. i cant believe he said tape that shit up. the scary thing is he would have played in the superbowl with that ankle. 100% man.
That shit just KILLED me during the game!!!! If the Saints would have just FALLEN on some of those fumbles instead of trying to pick em up they woulda had damn near 10 turnovers and the game wouldn't have been as close as it was.
@waypimpish I know what you mean, I still get choked up when I see the high/low on Favre that didn't get called a penalty, and turn a turnover into a likely scoring drive. I still get choked up when I see the refs give forward progress in the act of a fumble, and I really get choked up when I see the imaginary PI as the players grazed body auras while the pass sailed 5 yards overhead.. and then of course the imaginary catch. All that, and the Vikings still only had to count to 12 to win.
It doesn't matter how many times I watch this, those emotions from that moment I still feel exactly the same. Thank you Saints
You will never know the feeling unless you are from New Orleans , and your opinion means nothing if you aren't a Saints fan...

8 years later and I still get the same excitement watching the kick as I did back on that fateful Sunday night. Forever a Saints Fan.
That was a great day...
This game made me cry more than the superbowl.

This city is incredibly proud of all the hard work and awesome leadership of the Saints. Thank you.
Aside from when my favorite team was in it, this was my most anticipated NFC championship game since 49ers-Cowboys 1994. And it lived up to the hype.
