- In this video I review the Audeze LCD-X headphones. A real world first impression of a Dolby Atmos mixing and mastering engineer experiencing them. An honest review that show my genuine reaction to the headphones in my studio.

I been producing and mixing for 23 years and was blown away when my bro in law showed up to my house the other day with them. So much that I’m ordering a pair. So easy to put together a mix with these.
Been very tempted to get these for a long time, this might be the one video that pushes me to buy them.
That's why I always do honest feedback. Too many reviews that just give you info and don't give you the real world experience of someone just like you. I would honestly say if you want a pair of headphones that you could mix in accurately. These are a brilliant option.
For sure excellent Headphone! Yea i made my Room And Full range Genelec System sounds the Same between my Sennheiser HD800s and HD600. Its awesome to take of your headphones and having the same sound without need to adjust your ears! Took me 4 years to build my Room but worth it. So you taking off the headphones and saying it sounds the same is awesome! Cheers and thanks for all your nice Vids
LCD-X 2021 Crazy.İncredible.
I bought planars like this since they're as close as i can get for mixing (i have a small bedroom with poor acoustics), it's good to hear from an actual professional that they sound comparable to a good speaker setup.
I love my LCD-X! I live in a small flat and can't use my monitors.... But with the LCD-X I can mix and master my songs
upper mids are bad and bass is kinda non existant
@@mobcrusher4193No. Something must be wrong with your ears.
@@mobcrusher4193 yes, this is true
They are nuts 🎧🎧🔥🔥💣🌋🌋
If you like the way the LCD-x sounds then you should hear them with the Smyth A16 where you get 24 channels from those headphones.. and you get to emulate your favorite speakers ... so the combo of the A16 and the LCD-X gives you perfectly replicated 24 speakers
Ve como una tontería gastar con eso.
I've got these and they are built like tanks and sound great! However they are as you said very heavy on the head and can be tiring to wear for long periods
@Craig Scott Frost Yeah having said they are heavy, they are also very comfortable. I've had my ones for a well over a year and couldn't imagine life without them
hello, I ordered today and I want to advise, is it better to use eq? or just use the output with SSL X-Desk 16 ?? or other connection solutions? thank you
I use an EQ on mine which I would recommend
@@AudioAnimalsStudio thank you, I just heard that they have little bass, what would you recommend
@kovacrecords9651 yes low need increasing a little bit. I've tuned mine to my Trinnov measurements of my room. Which gives me the same reference in headphones for Dolby Atmos as I hear in the room when monitoring. Binaural information.
HOW DID YOU TUNE IT UP? AND WHAT EQ
@STUDIO-JD using DADman which is part of the MTRX software
How did you not notice the L & R on inside of the Adjustments
Would be interested to hear your thoughts compared with the new Audeze MM-500 specifically for mixing.
I haven't actually tried these. I'd be interested in comparing also.
Ok, long and short of it …I’m coming from an end user ( not a producer nor a musician) ..but want a good headphone for listening to music that isn’t finicky on sources and has good bottom end and good musicality….are these in the running 🤷🏻♂️
Coming from Sen’s 650’s 😁
Have you try Sennheiser 800s? How do you compare this with Senn 800s :)
I can't say I have directly compared the 800's to the LCD-X's. It would be unfair to comment without having the two side by side to compare.
I’ve been using them for some years, really used to them now. I use them without the grill. It would be amazing if you give them a try without the grill and mesh to share your thoughts.
What difference did you find removing the grille to make?
Headphones are better than speakers for micro details and clarity.
is there a sound quality difference between the LCDX creator and premium?
no
Exactly the same headphone - the difference is the premium bundle has a nicer case and premium cable.
👍🏻✅
Think you could mix a record on them if you didn't have a decent room to work from?
100% yes. I wouldn't 100% trust my sub but everything else would be accurate.
you get used to the weight, a strong neck is good at preventing injury so don't neglect training it
Great headphone, but i like them with this EQ in Peace to balance them a bit more and unlock the deep bass wich on stock rolls off a fair bit:
Preamp: -10 dB
Filter 1: ON LS Fc 31 Hz Gain 7 dB Q 1.0
Filter 2: ON LS Fc 127 Hz Gain 5 dB Q 0.8
Filter 3: ON PK Fc 2542 Hz Gain 4.0 dB Q 2.5
Filter 4: ON PK Fc 3700 Hz Gain 8.0 dB Q 4.5
Filter 5: ON PK Fc 5800 Hz Gain -1.0 dB Q 5.0
If you do want a little bit less bass, just lower the dB gain on 31/127 hz to your liking. These cans respond very well on EQ.
I would agree almost 100% to your measurements. I've corrected them to be exactly as my trinnov corrected the room. 100% needs a touch of eq.
What bugged me is that I bought a pair and later they release a revision... what was wrong with the version I bought? I mean, they cost me 1200 euros...
Thats something that bugs me too. I've had that with expensive EQs and compressors. Reduces resale value too.
The headband is made out of carbon in the update, to make it less heavy on the head. I think they sound the same.
The volume jumped up when the speakers started playing.
That's because the audio was coming out the speakers and previously you were hearing the spill from the headphones.
