  • In this video I will be showing you how to crochet socks. As scary as it might sounds the result is pretty easy and amazing!
These socks are size US 8.5-10.5, EUR 41-44. For smaller or bigger size add three extra rows in foot part.
    Pattern:
    Leg: chain 30 + 1
1- 48. SC into back loop, always add one chain at the end of row turn
join sides by slip stitch (total 30)
work on the edge of the "leg":
    1. SC x3, inc SC, repeat (total 60 at the end)
2-10.SC (always 60 at the end)
    Heel: I used different colour
    decrease:
    1. SC 30, turn
2.-9. skip second from first and last loop, SC ... you will end up with 14 loops
    increase:
    10. SC into every loop + 2 from the side (16)
    11. -17. repeat ... you will end up with 30 loops on the heel
Foot: I went back to the leg colour
    1.-40. SC all around
foot will determinate your size so if you want smaller reduce number of rows
Toe: I used same colour as for the heel
    1. skip first loop, SC 29, skip loop 29 (total 58)
2.-11. skip one from each side ..you will end up with 38 loops
    12. SC, decrease every 4th
    13. SC, decrease every 3rd
    14. SC, decrease every 2nd
    till the end.
    DONE! :)
I used green yarn from Mellowspun DK, and purple yarn from Sirdar Country Style,
I was working with hook no.3

Very nice bit. Unfortunately, it is not so clear and very fast.

It would be really nice to know how wide each part is to be able to decrease or increase the stich count according to different yarn or hook sizes :)

It is indeed very hard to follow… To a very frustrating point…
Im not an expert at all, but for the people asking about sizes, I think measuring the person’s calf and foot length might help 🤷🏻‍♀️

extremely hard to follow on the heel part very confusing and the yarn is in the way so you can’t see exactly where to place stitches

Is there apart of the video thats missing? How did the heel go from the increase to a completely rounded heel? Was it slipstitiched?

    • @elizafaulkner8408
      @elizafaulkner8408 7 месяцев назад +1

Hey! I just figured it out....
-when you decrease (30-14), make sure you follow what she says and skip the first and last stitch, rather than decreasing the conventional way. Keep a note of the stitches you have 'left out'
-once you start to increase again and she says something like +2 around the loops, it's a bit confusing but essentially she is saying to work your +2 into the loops that you 'left out' during the decrease.
      - so when I did it I did +2 stitches per loop skipped per line. It's really hard to explain properly but instead of just adding 2 random stitches in, work your way back along that outside and you should be able to connect your stitches all the way back down to the start of the heel and create that curve with no slip stitches.
Sorry if this makes no sense but hopefully if you try and make them again it'll help! Xo

Thank u for sharing . I’m confused at hill part . Everything is fine when decreasing from 30 to 14 than u turn and don’t Insert your hook in to the first loop or do a turning chain but u start from second loop . So to the end of that line u have 13 stitches (not 14) plus 2 extra (together 15) . I’m confused. I also don’t understand where those extra 2 should go . Pls help

Hello! Great socks but I'm having issues to understand the heel decreases: what you mean by skipping one from last loop ? If it's the last loop, which stitch I have to skip? Sorry for the question, but I'm still a beginner, so not everything is so straightforward for me. Thank you!

    • @kckindcrochet6994
      @kckindcrochet6994  Год назад +1

My dear, I’m very sorry you are having difficulty to follow up with the instructions. As additional help try o imagine the heal as flat (not joined at the sides) it will look almost like triangle (that’s the decrease). So skip one from the last is basically decreasing the number of loops to get triangle shape. I know it might sound more difficult than it really is. Don’t give up on trying and you will figure it out for sure! Please let me know once you finish your socks. Wish you lots of luck and fun with it. 🙏
