    Hey! The 798 unit number C6 was taken in my mine... That's out truck! And for those wondering you fill up around 2,800-3,600L of fuel every 12 hours depending on how the road conditions are and how much weight you carry! Another fact is that the maximum load capacity that they mention in this video are the minimum factory recommended... For example our Cat 797's get loaded at 428-455 Ton with an overload at 468 Ton! The factory load capacity says 391 Ton for an example!

    As big as these trucks are, 40 mph is starting to feel mighty fast! The operators of these vehicles must be very well trained and have lots of experience.

      Not at all actually... In the mines all you need is a basic driver's license to be entered under the company's insurance and they rather you have zero experience so they can teach you without bad habits!

    As a miner in the US, the biggest thing we've got brand new delivered this week was a Volvo A40G, a 1 million dollar plus vehicle, it is an ant compared to these monsters

      @@TheTuttle99 im not justifying it, because we really should switch. People make it sound like “oh look at the stupid Americans and their imperial measurements, they should ‘just switch’” when that would be one of the most difficult things for a country to do and would likely take years.
      It’s not just as simple as “just switch” because we would have already have done that by now.

    The 980 komatsu rock truck. Has 4 1000 horse power electric motors. That operate each wheel of the truck. The 3500 horse power diesel engine runs a generator for those motors. That's why it's fuel efficient

    Has anyone thought of turning these ultra-class mining dump trucks into military vehicles.. Just wondering.. Could you imagine it as a wheeled platform for; a giant/multi missile launcher, a self propelled automated artillery with hundreds of rounds, a full unit troop/battlefield equipment transport, a battalion mobile command center, a armored assault/gun platform, a drone swarm carrier with hundreds of automated death drones .. It would change everything in modern warfare. Just.. Just sayin.. Not like i'm givin anyone any ideas..😁😎💚💚💚💚

      Depending on what country you are in? In the UK it cpcs over 100 ton ticket, most nations require a safety card of some kind to allow you to drive a work in a quarry

      I drive a Komatsu 980 and we burn around 5500 liters per 12 hour shift during the spring when the ground is soft

    Statue of Liberty weighs 225 tons. So I’m not sure how 375 tons is 3 x 225.

      Thanks for the comment, Sir. We took the weight of copper + steel portion of the statue only, which is 312,000lbs or 141.5 metric tons (www.nps.gov/stli/learn/historyculture/statue-statistics.htm). If you noticed the statue is shown without its pedestal or foundation in the video. So it comes down to 375/141.5=2.7. It is still a little bit exaggerated, that's why we used the magic word "almost".

    The analogy of Carrying "57 adult male elephants" doesn't seem so much...No human has ever lifted an "adult elephant" so; it's not as impressive...400 short tons is 800000 pounds which is ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND GALLONS OF MILK...160,000 5 LB BAGS OF SUGAR, 2928 CASES OF WATER. Those are things that give better perspective...

    Actually 5 millions is not much expensive for truck which can carry 450 tons - this would be cheaper(truck itself and maintenance costs) than buy few smaller trucks for same load capacity
