I always had a hard time making these. Excellent tutorial. One of the best explanations I've heard on how to make parchment cones.

This is the best tutorial I've seen on how to make a parchment cone. I've tried many many times, and while I think I know how to do this, it never works. I use flat sheets of parchment paper, 12 x 16 inches. For whatever reason, I just can't get the final wrap around to work. The parchment bunches up or stays stiff. I can't figure out why this happens, what I'm doing wrong. I will keep trying with junk mail, as you suggested, or scrap paper. Great ideas for practicing. Thank you very much.

It is parchment paper. Butter paper could be used for this.

Great explanation, thank you - but can I ask how big the parchment paper is (dimensions) - I can't get mine to work, so think it might be the dimensions..?!

Hello. The parchment sheet here is commercial size 16x24 inches, so it’s pretty big. You can certainly use much smaller sheets or even a parchment roll to cut the triangle.
The final triangle from the video ends up being about 8x9x12 inches.
If I may suggest, practice with regular scrap paper, old magazine pages, or even junk mail. This way if you mess up the cut, you’ll not losing your parchment. You’ll pick it up in no time at all after a little practice.

@@sweetupload59 Thank you! I have used nearly a whole roll so far - more practice needed! Great instructions...I'm just not good at following them! Thank you.
