@@Otisboy121 I think Cole is styled more like the 1980s stage version of Sweeney Todd (Len Cariou/George Hearn) than Johnny Depp. Kathryn Newton's style is very Helena Bonham Carter though, especially her black outfit with her long dark hair.

The 80s vibes are iconic. Why the hell has a movie like this not been made in ages? Or at least been mainstream? I’ll definitely go out to the theaters to see this. It looks campy and goofy in the best way possible
Because studios are terrified of taking a financial loss on any project, and usually won't greenlight anything if it doesn't fit into one of three categories: (a) existing property remade/rebooted, (b) cheaply made/zero risk (like reality series/documentaries/game shows), or (c) major director with a built-in audience. Since this type of thing doesn't fit any of those options, it's a rare treat to see something like this produced.

Saw this trailer last night when watching Mean Girls, I was hella surprised seeing Liza Sobreano sharing the big screen with Kathryn Newton and Cole Sprouse. I’m honestly so proud seeing how far she’s come esp since I used to watch her in teleseryes (Filipino soap operas) all the time. 🇵🇭 hopefully I get to see more Filipino actors/actresses branching out and doing more Hollywood films!

It’s a ripoff of characters of American movie history in a new era of culture.
Time will tell, but 40 year olds and older won’t watch this, very small percentage of people will see this, and that’s not at theater, it will be girl nights at home.
But whatever; there other Frankenstein movie flopped; so past performance does not dictate future performances, but the new audience is touchy. I am curious to see the numbers from release more then movie itself.

I just watched this movie yesterday and I was SUPER pumped to see it but then I left the movie theater feeling quite disappointed. I feel the idea for this movie was there but the execution was definitely not… it had its few quirky moments but that was it. I feel there was a lot of waisted potential to expand on a lot of the ideas they had and to also add backstories scenes to many of the characters. I think this movie would’ve been great if there was more commotion /problem added to the conflict making the resolution just even more dramatic and heartfelt for the two main characters . In the movie one of the guys that Lisa helped kill (Doug) whom they later found out his dad I believe was a detective , and would later get involved in the case of his sons’s sudden disappearance. I feel the movie could’ve been better if they went more in depth with that and with the drama and commotion of the police looking for her because she was wanted as a notorious murderer. This movie could’ve included some more flashbacks of her mom. Just overall this movie needed more in depth details. It was kinda dry to watch and not a lot of juicy events occurred,that viewers usually crave for. I also wished there was more romance scenes between the two main characters but oh well. Despite all this, the movie had some funny moments and cute scenes. I would not watch again or recommend but still cute.

When I first saw the movie thumbnail on IMDB, my first thought was why Johnny Depp and Amber Heard would do a movie together. Honestly Kathryn Newton looks so much like a young Heard. The guy playing the monster here, Cole Sprouse, with the makeup reminds so much of Edward Scissorhands.

Watched this movie, loved it. I know the reviews aren’t great but this just hit the spot between nostalgic and new enough to not be tired. I think my only criticism is that the characters lean a little too hard into ‘unlikeable enough to get audiences to agree to their deaths/pray for their downfall’ ish. The ending was really fun tho I liked it
The fact they got together and fell in love with eachother at the end and the movie was released on Valentine’s Day is so perfect 😭😭😭

I just watched it and I enjoyed it. It was fun and very funny. The theatre I was in lots of people were laughing. All the actors did an amazing job. Especially Kathryn and Cole, they’re both so talented. And Kathryn is gorgeous. Also this movie reminded me a lot of both the movies Warm Bodies and Jennifer’s Body

For a second I thought that Cole Sprouse was a digitally de-aged Johnny Depp.
This was such a great movie, from the visuals and movie trope satires to the story and dark humor. During an age of the same thing always coming out (like Marvel movies), this was a refreshingly original story.
(No Spoilers) So, I got to see the movie today and it had quite a bit of humor and was very cute! I'm highly considering seeing it again!

I enjoyed this movie very much. I haven't seen Kathryn Newton in anything before this but was aware of her and always thought she had a Madonna vibe about her. I was there in the 80s so I engaged with this and the movie was pretty weird and funny.
