- In this video i describe how to get the hight of the radiator right so that it can meet up with existing pipes. In this example it wasn't to much of a tall order. but for other situations where the pipework has no give the measurements become much more critical and i describe how you can achieve good measurements and drill the wall correctly 1st time.
Got this same job to do very useful video thanks for posting this .
Good video,it’s a situation I’ve been in many a time when houses have been replastered, harder in reverse.
Very funny you're so right people penny pinching the radiator is how much 50 60 70 quid and punches are five times more heat today want to put back the old ones clearly knackered thanks for the advice
Plum the valve across both sides. Lay your radiator face down and offer your bracket up to the holders, put a straight edge across the radiator centre of the valves and measure up to the underside off your brackets. And if you use your head the straight edge you use is a timber then mark it up as a template of the line of ur brackets and valves
Very hepful video got similar job to do .
Excellent vid, very helpful. Where did you get the 135mm measurement from? This is the bit that stumps me and I know getting this right for my rad is critical.
He would’ve held the bracket in position on the radiator and measured from the centre line of the inlet of the radiator to the bottom of the bracket
Cheers, exactly the same brackets & radiator that I have to re hang. How would you fix a radiator into plasterboard with PIR insulation behind it if the studs were'nt in the right places ?
I would just make sure to use really strong plasterboard fixings, such as cavity wall fixings
What do you charge to install a radiator for a customer?
mark wall where brackets will sit...measure floor to valve centre....measure rad edge to bracket edge ... add these two together .... subtract the rad edge to valve centre....draw your lines and away you go
Shocking video
did u just use magic on the crucial part?? how and were did u get 135mm from? how did u measure from the pipe up to the bottom of the bracket? did u do that off camera without us knowing? apart from that the vid is good and informative👍
Hi, he more than likely did measure off camera. You lean the radiator against the wall, hold the bracket in position on the radiator and then measure from the centre of the inlet on the radiator (where the valve connects) to the bottom of the radiator.
Then he’s just got his level lines from the centre of the valves in place, measure up whatever the measurement is and then that’s where you hang the bracket
You certainly Made hard work of that simple job ,?
It's hard enough without us being upside down.
I have to walk into that exact same job today 🤣😂😅🤬
I think is not worth it at all but putting that ugly old radiators good installation enjoyed the video
What distance is 135mm?
Ian Lampitt 5.4 inches. 135mm/25mm
@@daleprosser350 think he means where on earth did he measure it to and from
@@jameslock9275 oh right, it’s the distance from the center of the valve to the bottom of the bracket
@@daleprosser350 yes I think your right, it wasn’t the best explained in the videos.
@@jameslock9275 he glanced over it briefly but I do it in work sometimes so it sort of twigged but if you’ve not done it then it’s not very well explained
More detailed instruction, and less moaning would be good!.
Get on with the work & stop moaning !!!
Not a professional more like a handyman
it’s not how you draw a line to hang a radiators on the wall.
