  • In a 2024 election already featuring heavy constitutional, legal, and health uncertainty, third-party candidates might be the biggest X-factor. Now, Democrats especially are already going to war against the candidates threatening to re-order the traditional presidential campaign.
But with poll after poll showing historic dissatisfaction with Joe Biden and Donald Trump, a glance at history reveals this might be the exact election in which to expect a third-party breakthrough. Voting for a third party is voting for your voice. Your vote is not owed to anyone or any party. If they want your vote then have a candidate that you would want to vote for!

Exactly. Under the current system all voting for a third party can do is dilute another candidate's chances and potentially throw the election to a guy you like even less. If you genuinely care about the outcome of an election, your only REAL choice is to vote for one of the two major party candidates. The ONLY way to EVER get viable third party candidates is to change how we do our elections and institute ranked choice voting (or something similar.) It would take both the major parties working together to change election law in this way, and there's not exactly a lot of incentive for them to do so since the two party system works in their favor. The creators of the Constitution made a huge error by not giving the public a way to force issues that are popular with the public but UNPOPULAR with current politicians.
