Just watched Bering Sea Gold videos - then found this “Alaska trip” set. My humble opinion is this is way better - “real” unscripted “reality”. Will be binge watching all the rest from this trip over the next couple of days. Great stuff Beau, really glad I found your channel, learning so much 👍🏻
Grey Silverback Yeah I thought of that too but when they mentioned grams I immediately wondered 'what's that worth? '. It does look like a blast, better then the daily grind I'm accustom to.
RegressMeNot but that's not the only way this Group that Beau's with makes their money. Beau was telling the other day that you could rent a cabin, rent the 4 wheeler, and other stuff. And stay for a duration of 3 months. But you have to work with the mine. Plus cook and clean up too. My point is this group wouldn't be doing this if they weren't bringing in some money. And then there're other companies up there that you can rent a cabin and all the other stuff and they will make sure you go home with some gold after you've given about $3000.00 per person for about a week. And this is just during the summer months. So these companies make good money.
6255 for 10 days of labor for x number of guys - 3 days of labor on a roof for just me 3 grand - your math is terrible - theres a couple reason swhy they do you tube videos to supplement their incomes, 1 the influx of retards that set out with gold fever dont hurt them a bit cause there just isnt very much gold left and 2 they need the ad money to survive lol - in addition to the bad math these guys will save gold for extended periods of time to make the finds for the video look better than they realy are, dont quit your day job to do this shit, youll find your self broke as fuck quick
I'm really enjoying this series, thanks for all the hard work. I wish I could go prospecting up there for a week or so, that would be such a thrill.....can't wait to see the rest! Thanks Chigg....
It's pretty awesome seeing you travel and explore. I'm living vicariously through you. It's not quite the same as your metal detecting and river treasure adventures, but I'll take what I can get! Your channel is one of my favorites.
Nice. Here's a better idea for a dredge. Three 48 inch pontoons with a deck built on it. You could put a nice cabin on it, a cabin you and a buddy could sleep in. That would allow you to go further and STAY further. 48 inch pontoons would be able to handle that Bering Sea if it got 4 foot waves. Make the deck friggin 35 feet long so you could setup a helluva sluice/classification system. Seriously, take that money you make and build a super dredge, one you can camp on. 35 foot by 20 foot on top of 48 inch pontoons would be sweet. You could setup all your equipment on that platform and STAY where the gold is while you sluice, cleanup, go to sleep, wake up, and start again right on the gold. No wasted time coming in to shore to clean up,
I've seen gold in one oz vials and there was a bunch of the vials. Some had flakes and some had nuggets as big as you little finger in 3oz vials. It was so pretty. And then on a different trip to this gold mine they had it pint jars. Now that was VERY pretty. lol oh how I miss Alaska. If nothing else just going and visiting my daughter and grandson would be wonderful. There are so many things to see and do in Alaska and it takes a lot of time to do it. Thanks for you videos
I weird. I like panning for gemstones. I used to gather buckets of gravel wherever I traveled in Idaho. Then come winter I'd pan them down. Always has some nice gemstones.
Oh Man I loved that thumbnail. It has been a while sense I have been here sorry. I hope your still watching me. I know you subbed me way back. I really like your videos. You are my biggest subscriber.
That's a nice clean up, you would have a nice nugget stash somewhere, also ur friend with the gold belt buckle did he have a gold nugget ring... Looked amazing...
You might consider propping your intake hose up on a rock and keep it off the bottom so you wont suck sand and small rocks up that could damage your impeller in your pump.
I used to dredge for gold here in Northern California Mother Lode Country. I could always get in the water earlier in the season than everyone else, and stay in later, because I have a dry suit instead of a wet suit. Funny thing is... I can't swim, am deathly afraid of water, but tell me there's gold down there I'll strap 50 pounds of lead on my chest, dive down and stay down there for 8 hours at a time.
have you guys considered using products from GoldHog? would likely increase your ability to get cleaned concentrates than that current setup you have. seeing those nuggets of gold though, pretty epic, and a lot of fine stuff too.
uh oh.. chigg got tha gold fever.. I predict a change in the videos lol.. ive always wanted to dig for gold in Alaska since the days of the gold fever show with tom Massey
Sounds like you got the gold fever boy! You'd best head on home and hit the rivers! Summers comin' and the tourists is droppin' loot! Thar's gold in them there southern rivers too and it's closer ta home.
You don't seem to be fighting off those dadburn Alaskan Mosquitoes. When I was up there in the eighties they were terrible, but a good campfire would keep 'em at bay.
Hey Chig I don't know if you know you probably do by now but the sound is like Gonzo on the on some of the video anyway I haven't gotten through with the whole thing yet but we're he's doing the sluice you can't hear anything that you guys are saying or you can't even hear the machine don't know if that's all the way.
Hey aquachigger I want to go to AK and find a claim. Or maybe glean a big company’s claim. What transportation would you suggest? What camping method would you suggest?
Thomas, you don't simply "find" a claim. Your best bet, if you are serious about it, get in touch with some of the touristy-mining operations and pay for a week on site. Walk through the grocery stores, look at fuel prices at the pumps. Bring an extra $4,000 in cash - sit on the beach and burn each bill one at a time. If you still want to try to make a go of it, go for it.
Stephen Lee Ocean Sail Racing is somewhat like that except it’s 100 dollar bills. That‘s not an exaggeration. I am not sure what you mean by you just don’t find a claim.
Makes you wonder what it must have been like to be the captain of one of the very first dredges... I bet he slept on a pile of gold nuggets lol I would.
Nice vid... Your right... We couldn't quite hear everything... But words aren't necessary when you see those shiny gold nuggets..... Btw. . Your hot??? LOL... I'll take that weather over our 100° Florida humidity any day.
Love watching your adventures.
Watching them drag the prop across the shore was like nails on a chalkboard to me
Your right could not hear him, but I saw the smile he had because of the gold. Thank you.
*Now thats the heavy stuff right there boys*

So much color! Awesome.
Gold = 💰💰💰 in the bank! Great video Chiggster!
Google search says $1251.40 per ounce.
Thats $6255 for that run alone.
Puts things in perspective... very cool.
Hope this info is correct.
RegressMeNot , still have to subtract expenses off the top. Alot of them end up with a net loss, still looks like a blast though!
Grey Silverback Yeah I thought of that too but when they mentioned grams I immediately wondered 'what's that worth? '. It does look like a blast, better then the daily grind I'm accustom to.

Varies on the day. 3 months later [October 10th, 2017] the price has risen to $1,286.40

You might consider propping your intake hose up on a rock and keep it off the bottom so you wont suck sand and small rocks up that could damage your impeller in your pump.
Ten days of dredging plus processing the concentrated black sand to get 5 troy ounces of gold minus operating costs …. It looks like fun and WORK:-)
Good video showing how its done very interesting shame about the little garnet but I am sure theres lots up there.. Good luck and stay safe..

You don't seem to be fighting off those dadburn Alaskan Mosquitoes. When I was up there in the eighties they were terrible, but a good campfire would keep 'em at bay.

Aqua higher who was the guy in an earlier video about dredge nozzles?
The one that makes them.

How much is 4-5 ounces worth Beau? Im curious how much they made off their time. Great video, such a lovely place.
gold price today is $1,248.45 . www.apmex.com/spotprices/gold-price
Makes you wonder what it must have been like to be the captain of one of the very first dredges... I bet he slept on a pile of gold nuggets lol I would.
Nice
very interesting process, do you know an estimate that they make each in a month or week? Was the pumping barge DIY made?
Have good day!

Nice vid... Your right... We couldn't quite hear everything... But words aren't necessary when you see those shiny gold nuggets..... Btw.
