Met him and his wife at Munich airport when our flight was cancelled. We had a long discussion on how the heck we’d get home. They were both so nice. I told him we loved his tv programmes but he shrugged and said thanks and changed the subject quickly. Sad to see him go.
He was truly a charasmatic person and very entertaining telly wont be the same without him a very said tragic loss there was no shouting or rudeness or silly stuff like we see with Ramsey
1:26 Dave grew up just around the corner from where I lived. He was a genuinely decent bloke who was not a bit pretentious or “up himself”. Like Dave I haven’t lived in Barrow for many years but like him I always made a point of having a couple of Green’s meat and potato pies on my visits! We will miss you Dave and can only imagine how Si will miss his old mate. So glad that Dave found happiness with his lovely wife Liliana and her children. ❤

Im from Barrow the same as dave and grew up around the corner from his childhood home just a note its meat and potato pie its an everyday dish in Barrow especially when bought from Greens pie shop which was literally between the streets where Dave and myself spent our early childhood Rest in peace sweet man
The Hairy Bikers absolute legends, not about ego or being nasty like some other tv chefs, they kept it simple, always respecful of the locals be that a chip shopper owner in Grimsby or a local cooking food in Vietnam. Always willing to learn, share, no preaching. And fun. Absolute legends 👍
