- Our journey from the past month. Here we are harvesting and preserving from the 2 year old garden, which is an absolute joy! There is also a lot of preparation for future projects.
Hi! We are Laura & Jonas, a Belgian couple living on the Estonian island Saaremaa. Here we are in the process of building up a resilient homestead from scratch.

Thank you so much for watching!
Huge garden
Such hard workers!! Most of us can not imagine the extent of your labor! May God continue to bless everything you put your hands to!
Thank you so much for your lovely comment!
I love all of your videos. Youre both so talented and inspirational. I have watched many of your videos every day. I hope the rabbits have more room one day 🙏
Lovely garden and Laura, you sure have a green thumb for growing vegetables and plants. Beautiful work for the gate, Yonas. I love watching your vlogs. I hope you can produce enough food for both of you, the animals and have spare to sell.
Hello from new zealand. What wonderful calm soft voice you have. It goes so well with the soft laid back video filming. You garden must be the most luxurious and productive I've seen on a small holding. Congratulations to you both on your fine efforts. May God bless you both.
I'm blown away by the abundant and productive garden you have grown...simply fantastic, and all the produce looks amazing. All your hard work is paying off. The Homestead looks beautiful, the animals look like they are thriving, and all your preparations for winter will serve you so well. I've been a subscriber from the beginning and it's such a joy to see how much you have established and developed since the beginning, everything looks so wonderful. The property and land beautiful and peaceful. You two have worked so hard and done so well, it is so much deserved. Continued blessings and I look forward to watching your journey and homestead unfold. ❤
What a sweet comment
I'm so amazed at how much you've done , so beautiful and healthy , so much food , good for you 😳
I am enjoying your videos. Your garden looks beautiful, and you are growing some great food! Homesteading is hard work everyday!
I loved that demonstration of heath and safety "best practice" with the tree. Well done.
Lovely
Video intro screen - my first thought - Jonas is carrying small child on his arm.
Young Lady one suspects that in a previous life you and Jonas were the Gatekeepers of Paradise!!!
The gate way is a work of art!
Amazing fantastic vegetable yield ! You have amazing 'good hand' for vegetables / plants.
Wonderful and such a good combinatation of woodwork and place for growth.
Thanks for sharing! We love your videos!
What an inspiration you are! The garden yields look truly amazing. I visited Estonia last month & fell in love. Will be back! In the meantime it’s great having your videos to watch. Thank you
Ahw thank you! What part of Estonia did you visit? Yes we also really like it here, still not many know it's a beautiful country to visit!
@@The.Land.of.Slow.Living unfortunately only in & around Tallinn. Now I know there is so much more. I really cannot wait to return. But it was just fantastic!
Is so beautiful guys I love it 💗

Another way to preserve eggs are to seperate the yolks from the whites and gently place the yolks on sea salt. They dehydrate and you can shave the finished product on absolutely anything......a bit like parmesan cheese in texture but creamy and yummy. There are methods out there for preserving the whites too; koji or garum.
Wow thanks for sharing, haven't heard about this!!
Hi I'm Selvi from Coimbatore, India and I loved watching how creatively you have built everything from scratch.
But I felt disheartened to see the fully grown tree pulled down, hope you plant more trees too.
Will you be selling some produce at the farmers market next year. Thank you for sharing.
I've been really considering selling produce at a small scale , but it depends what I would put priority. If I want to grow almost all of our vegetables, fruit, potatoes and feed for all the animals ,it will already use all the open space I havr available here.. I keep hearing it takes around 800 m2 to feed one adult a full year, if you also produce the feed for the animals. That's quite a lot! Next year we will be doubling productio' space. Maybe if I get really smart and productive with the space I have, there is enough to sell (or trade if the economy goes down)
Preserving eggs in glass jars filled with liquid? Please describe is this method?
25grams of pickling lime mixed with 1liter of water , should preserve your eggs for at least 8 months or so! ideally you put the eggs upside down in the jar or container.
Unusual novelty for me. Thank you for the recipe Laura.
What is pickling lime?
@@MahatmaMichael There is more information on this blog for example : www.askaprepper.com/how-to-preserve-eggs-with-lime-water/ . The kind of lime you're looking for is called CALCIUM HYDROXIDE . It's very usefull for storing that overabundance of eggs from the summer for the wintertime
