Maybe I'm just high, but having no vocals for most of it made it feel like an art project all in itself, it was wonderful to watch
Good time of year for Cider and sitting by fire lol. Have you planted fruit trees yet.
I planted only few 3 years ago. Most planted 2 years ago so next year will get lots off fruit. And year after should be mature enough provide all 80% our own fruit to eat
And make Cider
We planted six in the first year, and planning on two more this year. All apples and cherries :) Cider would be nice to produce some day! Fruit trees take patience though
@The Land of Slow Living it sure does. For me it's become my main passion I'm addicted to propagating fruit trees lol.
Now I got unlimited supply trees but small urban plot to plant on of 250m2 but I've squeezed 60 trees in with agroforestry pruning practices.
Just working on collectiving more varierys so I can propagate them. And using them to plant in local parks.
@@zanecrofts7085 That is soo awesome! I once saw a foodforest in a suburban garden plot in Flanders ( and they had hundreds of trees squeezed in and it seemed to work for them! Goodluck to you on your further tree journey :)

The stuff I've used isn't biodegradable. The idea is it lasts a long time to stop weeds / seeds in the soil taking over

Hehe he was thanking a Belgian kid that gave him a colorful present that he used on the snow man;)

Ik ben echt verliefd op jullie homestead!!! Zo mooi. Ik droom er van
Dank voor je tips! Konijntjes kunnen we opsluiten in een binnenhok snachts in de serre, en inderdaad draad op de bodem tegen het graven! Kipjes hebben zo'n automatisch deurtje dat snachts dichtgaat, dus gelukkig geen predatoren op die manier. Wel zien wel soms een roofvogel in de lucht, maar die lijken niet echt een poging te ondernemen (misschien door de geiten?) Konijntjes in de tractor eten wat er hier groeit, een mix van een heleboel 'onkruid' en gras + havermout in de ochtend :)
@@The.Land.of.Slow.Living hoi :) leuk dat je een reactie hebt geschreven! Roofvogels landen enkel op plekken waar ze ook snel en makkelijk weer op kunnen vliegen. Waarschijnlijk landen ze niet bij jullie omdat er net iets te veel bomen staan. Als je in de kippenren wat lage struikjes plant dan help je ze op die manier extra beschermen, want een roofvogel kiest dan liever een prooi op een groot open veld. Andere roofdieren zoals marters en vossen houden juist wel van verstopplekken, dus daar helpt het dan weer niet bij. Enkel de ren ook richt maken aan de boven kant en in de bodem. Ja 'ze' zeggen idd dat het toevoegen van 1 of meer bokken (mannetjes geit ongecastreerd) andere roofdieren weghoudt, maar of dat echt zo is weet ik niet. Ik hoop het. Wij zouden onze toekomstige kippen ook graag op die manier veilig kunnen laten vrij lopen. Ik vind het kippenhok dat je gebouwd hebt echt geweldig! Zo leuk met die houtblokken :D
