Dear Sofia, you helped me today to come out of a really dark place. We had to transfer my dad into a care home 11 months ago because of his Parkinsons disease. He has not dementia, so he is pretty much the only inhabitant there with a clear mind. He suffers a great deal of loneliness and grief and misses my mom and his home. I grieved with him and I even felt the pressure on my chest so much that I developed a chronic bronchitis. I felt so guilty that it overshadowed my days and my relationships. I'm so grateful for your insight, your kindness and compassion. I realized today that my feelings are quite normal and that it's not helpful to suppress them and act normal. By feeling them, understanding them and being kind to myself, I can see getting myself out of this depressing state I'm in. So cheers to you and your amazing work.

Taking care of someone you never got along with makes the stress 10X worse.
Sofia has the ability to make it sound pleasant but I know I am going to mentally and physically deteriorate.
