My 15 yo daughter and I are literally BRAND NEW to archery, and we're currently looking into an ARC Rolan snake for her first bow, but not sure on mine. So I've been doing a lot of research into the art, trying to find my interest (rec., hunt, compete, build). I have really enjoyed all the videos I have watched of yours so far. Your energy is electric, and the way you break it down makes it totally understandable to us Noobs. Look forward to watching more content!

As a beginner bowyer with exactly 1 functional bow (70" longbow), an 8ft heat box, and a recurve form that isn't even, this is an AMAZING idea. I genuinely went straight to the website and got one for myself (will be here on the 07/19). It is so disheartening to spend so much time on a bow, only to have it snap during tillering or when the string is put on the 1st time or the first time it is drawn. It is comforting to know that a lot of the really hard work has already been done, so I can practice finishing a bow and get the dopamine rush of a finished product.
EDIT: Longbow is 70" (seventy); for some reason no matter how much I edit it, the comment still shows 79" (seventy-nine). Maybe its a cache thing or something, but just wanted to clarify.

Kramer you're doing great for the bow community, I like alot of your products and customer service already. This is a great idea for beginner and expert alike in my opinion. I make my own bows but I'm very tempted to try this due to the style and layout. Excellent job and very good instructional .

One never been a fan of kits. I've paid more than I would pay for an actual product for good guides on how to do it myself because I'm interested in the entire process. Buying a kit only gives me a small portion of that enjoyment. Your videos have given me the guidance to build a bow, but if there were a compilation, especially with added instruction in print, I'd be more than happy to buy that.
A relatively inexpensive source for materials would be awesome, too. I can't just go out to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a lot of the woods that would be optimal for building a bow. My nearest quality lumber store is well over 100 miles away and the online resources I've found only want to send 36" sections, at most.

You've been a big part of my inspiration to make a bow, and now I cant wait to make more when time allows. I'm an avid bowhunter with my compound, but now I want to harvest game with a bow I've made myself. a few staves and some lumber await when I get caught up on customer orders eventually lol.

I've watched more than a few of your bow building videos and wow they are informative thank you. One small suggestion if I may... You don't show the finished bow at the end, I would love to see detailed video, up close and personal views of the bow, to see the contours and the grain, the shape, just a small 30 second highlight at the end of the video would be awesome :)
Thanks for the great videos, keep them coming!

SHAME ON YOU! IT'S YOUR FAULT!
.... now I even want to BUILD a bow ... Where will it end?
6 months ago I let you talk me into buying a Black Hunter recurve bow.
After only some fun-shooting in Scottland 10 years ago, my first serious step into archery.
Got a 40 lb bow and, surprise, found it somewhat heavy to draw.
So, started working on my fitness and strength. Was thinking about doing it for years.
Finally starting felt pretty good. Even fixed my bycicle, that was hidden in the basement.
Point is, I can´t even remember the time when I felt like today!
Whenever possible I´m out on my bike, bow on my back and heading towars the woods.
Even just hike around in nature is fun. Feel great. Shooting slowly gets better.
Without trying to be dramatic, your video about that bow got my a$$ up
and took me back (I don´t know how many) years in time.
Thank you for all those tips, tricks and your funny, entertainig way of giving us tons of information. Please keep doing so.
Big hug and and all the best for you and your team.
    Frank (61 fxcking years old)

@kramerammonsarchery do you think that manual hand plane, spokeshaves, chisels and card scrapers can be used for most of the shaping? I don't have any power tools. Also I'm planning to have no arrow shelf, kind of like horse bows.

Please wear your respirator mask more it's super important especially with composite materials like fiberglass. That stuff enters your lungs cuts them up and then heals over permanently embedded inside of your body.

Hello, I am looking to buy my first bow, and I saw your video about the Black Hunter recurve bow. However, on Amazon the black hunter recurve bow is slightly more expensive than the Black hunter Longbow. I’ve only ever shot recurve before, but I am trying to save as much money as I can. Do you think that the switch from recurve to longbow is gonna be a bit of a learning curve for a beginner archer, or do you think I would probably be able to still shot as well ad normal with a switch from recurve to longbow?
Sorry for a long question, and thank you for all of the videos you make!

Thanks so much for watching and that is super exciting about getting a bow. Going from recurve to longbow will be no issue at all for you. The longbow shoots great and I still have mine. It might even be a touch smoother to shoot than the recurve! Best of luck!

@@glenn_r_frank_author That is what I was thinking about the paradox. Anyhow I would do more a medium to just past medium notched universal style handle for the bow so I can do a full style grip easiest for my hand size with bonus of having grip repeatable. Then after handle is go for my left eye dominance as well as make the transition for the tip overlay less sharp. This is if I actually needed another bow but I do not.
