Yes , it was such sad news about Lance Danny. He was too old for the role of monster mash kid Mark Petrie in Salem's Lot, as the kid in king's novel is actually about ten years old , but Kerwin pulled it off fantastically and made the role his own. You speak here very movingly of Lance Danny. I felt tears coming to my eyes watching this Danny and listening to you . RIP Lance 😢

So shocked because SL was one of my favourite films although only 9 when it was shown on BBC 1 in the late 70's. Have fond memories of this film because it scared the shit out of me as a 9 year old, remember to this day feeling this sense of super fear thanks to the brilliance of Tobe Hooper, the music and of course a stellar cast. Fancied Mark like crazy. Really sorry to hear this. Sorry it didn't reach UK audiences sooner and if it did, I didn't see it. Well, what a legacy and what an impact this film made. Condolences to his family. Really, really sorry to hear this tonight.

He was a good actor. He was named number 82 on VH1’s 100 Greatest Kid Stars (2005) and number 22 on E!’s 50 Cutest Child Stars: All Grown Up and of course ‘Salem’s Lot’. My favorite performance of his is a role he played opposite Eric Strolz and James Spader as brothers in the made for television movie ‘Killing in the Family’ starring screen legend Robert Mitchum as their father. This is incredibly heartbreaking as he was an amazing talent gone too soon at 62. Salem's Lot which is my all-time favorite horror film had a big impact on me. Lance in particular not only delivering a great performance as Mark Petrie but a character I could relate to having had same interests growing up. I have a fond memory of seeing Salem's Lot for the first time in 1985 on my 11th birthday few days before Halloween as it was part of the week long Shocktober movie fest and I was instantly a fan! Thank you Lance for that memory, rest well Mr Kerwin!
