Setting the labor mood is such an important part of preparing for labor, birth and your hospital experience! In my Coping with Labor & Online Childbirth class, I talk about how important your surroundings are for your labor and birth. In my hospital tour video ( • Hospital Room Tour - W... ) you see a tour of this same room, without all the simple ways I will teach you in this video to make your room/environment one that is calmer, more peaceful, and can actually help your labor progress and help create a better birth memory for you! Have you ever ran into a hospital that said you could not hang your lights? I feel like my hospital may not be too keen on it, and look at me like I'm crazy ... But this is wonderful! I'm praying for awesome nurses.. with my daughter, I wasn't crazy about the main nurse taking care of me. With my son, I really liked my nurse..

Just delivered my baby boy this past Tuesday in the hospital with midwives and it was a very relaxing experience! Who would’ve thought labor and delivery can be so calming; even with the discomfort and at times the pain my midwives really talked me through the pain and go me from point A to point B. From low lights, lots of ice and heat packs, position changes, massage, I definitely loved everything I experienced.

I can't believe you get dislikes on your videos. I have to say how appreciative I am for your videos. I am currently 7 months pregnant and as you can imagine been having anxiety for many reasons. One of them being my first child birthing experience was not another experience I want to have. I have watched several of your videos and I have gotten so much more comfort and knowledge on how I can control what happens and even help my midwife and stay at the hospital be more comfortable for me and even them! Your insight and advice is very much appreciated! Thank you for creating all this content :)

Had this amazing women for the birth of my first child. Now rewatching all of her videos and getting ready for my second. I had no idea what a huge impact setting up a room would have on my labor. Everyone who walked in commented on how calm it felt, which made me calm. The lighting and the music was such a huge motivator for me . We still laugh about how I had Kelly Clarkson playing on repeat during the last hour of labor, but it worked!!

Thank you for the tips about just leaving the bathroom light on and the room spray for nice smells, because my hospital has a labor room and a different delivery room so I wouldn't be able to do the "stick on the wall" tips. I've been thinking about taking with me a small cushion with an embroidered birth affirmation, so I can have that and also be functional (and easy to put on the bag later as well). But I have time, baby's coming on July 2021!

Pregnant with baby number 4 (rainbow baby 💙). I never considered adding flavoring to my ice chips! Well definitely do for baby boy coming up in 9 weeks. My husband uses Liquid IV regularly since he's an electrician, physically working much of the day outside. Maybe I'll steal some from him if I'm allowed water. I plan on having a heat pad with me. Heat on my back helps more than anything for my achy back. Plus, having his hand on my back helps my husband feel as though he's doing his part. The last birth we went thru, he felt useless since his hands were cold and would actually cause more discomfort on my back. He had hand warmers in the car from work at the time and managed to warm up his hands enough to take part in caring for me again. ❤️ Other than the hand on my back, I generally don't like being touched, and my last 3 labors were no different. But maybe this one will be! I find myself wanting more affecting in this pregnancy. Haha. Doesn't seem to matter how many babies a woman has, it seems different every time!

I was lucky to have a sweet nurse the first night but man, there was one lactation nurse who was so snarky and made me feel bad for having a heavy suitcase, of all things 🙄 If I ever have another baby, I'll definitely be more focused on my comfort 👍

Currently 10 weeks with baby number 5 and my last labor was scary I always do all natural no epidural or pain management I like to be in my zone. But my last labor I stopped dilating at a 8 and was hemorrhaging. My water broke at 3 pm and I was in labor until 5 am I had to push her out at a 8 not even fully open because I was bleeding so much my doctor said if I want to do it naturally I have to get her out or I was going into emergency C section. So in so much pain I got her out. A lot of it I know had to do with how stressed out I was befor birth circumstances in life were stressful so I’m definitely going to look into doing something like this to help my body do what it’s meant for this baby! ♥️♥️♥️

Welp, I tried. I really really wanted to have an epidural free labor but when I went from 4cm to 6cm in 30 mins I lost it. I was shaking and getting cold sweats. The contractions were so bad. BUT they put me on pitocin (which I never exceeded 3/20). Up until they had put me on pitocin, the monitor recorded my contractions but I wasn't feeling them. I was 2 weeks over due and she didnt look like she was coming anytime soon. I also never got a membrane sweep. I was sitting at 3cm for hours even after inserting Cytotec.
All in all, I had a good experience. I knew however, that if I was going to be induced that I was probably going to need an epidural. I ended up pushing for 3 hours...and I mean HARD pushing for 3 hours only skipping 3 or 4 contractions to rest. I didn't risk uping my dosage because I did still want to feel my contractions to know when to push and was able to which I loved. Amazing though that you literally feel nothing in the canal but..also bad for not knowing how much/little to push.
Anyhow - go with the flow mentality in any way during labor is the way to do it. Hopefully you have great nurses like I did because that makes all the difference. It really was a beautiful experience!
