    How much better is the GLA AMG 35 compared to the Mazda CX-30?
    In this video I compare the Mazda CX-30 Turbo to the new GLA 35 AMG since fans requested this video.

      Even a GLA with what 200 HP is still in the low 40s new.You add taxes etc and an AMG can easily be 20k above a Mazda--and btw for some reason this little mercedes still needs the famous 300 dollar plus oil change etc.

    CX-30 Turbo vs GLA 250 is a more fair match up imo. CX-30 AWD Turbo 0-60 spanks the GLA 250 AWD all day long. Also 34k CX-30 vs 44k USD for the GLA, 55k for the GLA 35.. Show me the GLA 35 AMG for 34K, new and I'll buy that instead..

    To people here who are happy that the Merc won this comparison: no shit Sherlock! 15 Grand buys you a better car. If I had 50K $ to put on a car, and having a nicer car was important to me, I wouldn't be considering a cheaper car. So that's it. The Mazda is very nice for it's price point, and the Mercedes is nicer, of course. Oranges and apples.

    Mercedes is good if you're taking the top trim. Lower levels are pretty funny because here in Europe you're getting a MB with a 1.4 turbo engine, analogue meters, tiny infotainment screen stuck on the dash and some weird soft plastic everywhere.

    I was trying to have a neutral opinion giving that I currently have a Mazda, but I love Mercedes Benz, I’m not a fan of the gla because of how it looks but if you got the money and can afford the maintenance get the GLA if your a person that likes nice quality cars with a touch of luxury, go for the Mazda the maintenance cost isn’t too bad either ‼️💯

  • @jbm0866
    @jbm0866 3 года назад +14

    I am happy you did this, after all Mazda wants to move upscale and Mercedes is one of the benchmarks for that. Having said that, I'm not sure the Merc is really worth $12-15k more if I'm the one paying the bills. What I mean is...Mazda and Mercedes have never been cross shopped, and may never be. People who buy current Mazda's are willing to pay a small premium to get a more luxurious experience versus Honda, Toyota, Nissan etc, but arent really in the market for a Lexus/Acura/Infinity, much less Mercedes. On the flip side, even if the CX-30 eventually gets much closer to what Mercedes offers, buyers wont give up the tri-star badge and the image it projects. But even with all that said, if the price of these two were near equal..not many people would pass on the Mercedes in favor of Mazda, even diehard japanese car fans. That isnt the reality however. The Mercedes will have a higher price of entry, higher cost of ownership even during the warranty period, and once that ends the maintenance costs will be outrageous.

      People do cross shop these.I actually bought the Mazda over the AMG simply because any extra power is overkill.And BTW I just sold my 2020 AWD Stinger and got thousands more then I paid for it.I was able to pocket over 5k and bought a CX-30 Fully loaded premium plus.I like the AMG 45 GLA but am also frugal and surprisingly the Maza is very good and it has a big 4 cyliner and has torque way down low which is what I like.The mercedes like a Type R civic has to be wound out to start accelerating fast--the Mazda just loafs strongly off the line.The local track closed near me--the Stingers price skyrocketed in the last 3 months--new 2022s are 55k plus and I think the average buying time for one to be bought is like 7 days.I sold my Stinger--had offers within 12 hour of putting the ad up.There was one AMG 45 near me and it was over 60k and had awful looking wheels and amazingly had a lower end sound system--yeah it would rip a sub 5 second 60 and had good traits--but the Mazda is so good that the extra money is just not worth it.I own my CX-30 and now have over 40k in the bank already for my next cars.In the last 5 years I have been close to buying an AMG 45 GLA and even though I had the money--I bought other vehicles simply cause it was not worth it--same thing here--the CX-30 is excellent and I have owned and driven many cars-american muscle--JDM cars--and a 3.3 TT Stinger and this Mazda ranks up there for an overall car.

    Nice video. Of course if the average person gets a tank of gas 4x per month, you end up spending $500-600 more per year on fuel for the Mercedes. Additionally, service is more expensive on Mercedes and so is the insurance. So outside of just the base cost, you can expect to pay ~$100-150/mo (depending on the state) extra for the Mercedes.

For my real world driving Mazda ticks nearly all the right boxes with the CX30…quality, safety, styling, performance, comfort, reliability, utility, service and especially value.
