I purchased an FSK 420 for the TS 60 and it’s excellent, but the detents and respective scale are off by a half-degree. I can still exchange it, but I wonder if it’s a general issue (I added a few layers of tape on one of the stops to compensate for the error, but it seems ridiculous to have to do that). Are your rails spot on? Many thanks.

Mine appear to be right on. I did a primative test.

Say I already have a rail square and regular rail. What’s your opinion on getting either the shortest or medium length FSK rail? Don’t have a miter saw

Honestly, I think it depends on what you are trying to do.
First, if you are using the FSK rail, you need one of three saws: the HKC 55, the TS60, or the TSV60.
Only the TS60 and the TSV60 will get you a full-depth cut on a 45-degree angle on the rail when cutting 2 by lumber. (1 1/2 inches)
If you do not have either of these saws, you can go with the FSWA angle square, which can get you your angles 60 degrees, both left and right.
That is assuming you are using a Festool guide rail.
I believe there is a little more flexibility with the FSWA angle square Festool rail combo.
You also have to consider cut depth. The TS60 cuts at a maximum depth of 2.24409 or 57 mm on the rail, as you have to subtract 5 mm from the total 62 mm cut depth.
The TS60 has an actual cut depth of 62 mm, even though it is called the TS60.
The HKC 55 only gets you a 50 mm cut depth on the rail at 90 degrees, which is 1.9685 inches.
To compare a Festool Kapex 60 and 120, get 60 mm and 120 mm cut depth, respectively. (2.3622 inches, 4.72441 inches)
The Milwaukee 12-inch miter saw has a cut depth of 6 3/4 inches. The Dewalt 12-inch miter saw gets up to 6.5 inches.
The bottom, like the miter saw, cuts deeper than the track saw.
Even the ts75 with a rail and the FSWA angle square will only get you 2.75591 inches or 70 mm of depth.
I would probably go with the FSWA if you are only cutting sheet goods. It is much cheaper if you do not have one of the saws I mentioned above.
      I hope this helps.

you have to be like $30k + deep in festool in the last 6 months alone, what's with alllllll the tools. you do more videos than the actual festool company. Sedge has to watch your channel just so he doesnt cover the same tool. but to stay on topic, i like the rail square

Lol. Reading between the lines it seems that you have some strong feelings.
It is not that serious. Really it’s not. You have a blessed day. 😃 Cheers
