- MacFarlane Pheasant Farm is the largest pheasant farm in the country. The roof of barn that once held 50,000 pheasants sustained significant damage from the EF2 tornado that tore through Janesville.
Farm owner, William 'Bill' MacFarlane, says, the farm has spent so much time focusing on the dangers of bird flu, that this tornado caught them by surprise.

@Billm, these are Phree Pheasants.😬
Ring Necked pheasants are the only ones I know of, those look like females and young!

So basically the tornado was a get outta jail free card for the pheasants
Set them free!
My buddy used to do the same thing except he did it the first Saturday in November
Good. Redirect the money towards native species restoration.

So the farmer can't take the birds back in. He won't make efforts to take care of the situation. So he's letting them starve?
They're not going to starve
A new species is introduced into America 😬😬😬
The owner isn’t going to try to get his birds back because “They are wild”? That’s nuts. They were not wild, he fed them. Why is this farm even necessary? Restore native species. By the way, pheasants are not native to North America.
They are about the only species brought here which have been great to have
Birds of all sort are not domesticated even though they're born there
