@@biggeststeppa1 they want to enter into the upscale market. they price it like any other brand, you want more features, you pay for it. they are still cheaper than other brands out there.
When I first saw the cx 30 I thought wow this looks stunning. I still think it looks stunning. I liked the interior when I first saw it in the Mazda 3. I just wish that the screen was a bit bigger and I also wish it was a touchscreen but those are my few complaints about this car. Its an absolutely fantastic car. Shame about the pricing but it really is a good package. Also yes Mazda we want a turbocharged engine.

I own the active model and after you break the engine in,the fuel consumption goes down to between 7.2 - 7.7L/100 and ive gotten 800km on one tank. Ive had for 3 years and a happy chap... thanks for the review,ive been waiting for this one.

Correction, Mazda is very fond of turbocharging their motors, it’s just that Mazda SA decides not to bring it to us plebs in SA, stupid decision.

Very fond is a strong statement. Mazda only started making Turbo engines as recently as 2018, a mere 5 years ago. They have always been fond of naturally aspirited engines. The demand for turbo engines was so huge that they finally caved in. I guess you could say their hand was forced.

Mazda SA should really consider the 2.5L Turbo engine that’s offered in European markets. I still don’t understand why they are not offering it in SA, I mean it could be due to pricing but atleast make it available for those that don’t mind spending a bit more on performance

Can we have Mazda 3 turbo
Mazda's naturally aspirated engines are tough as coffin nails. My wife has been driving a CX-5 for years - zero issues.
But what I like most about Mazdas is that all model derivatives look great, with only features differentiating the different grades.
It is very different with most other car makers where the entry level models are butt ugly

Apparently Mazda does do turbo engines ,its just Mazda South Africa thats not fond of bringing them here in SA same goes for Suzuki

Mazda ZA confuses me so much, a top trim cx30, a cheaper lesser vehicle, gets a bigger digital gauge cluster and Mazdas new infotainment yet when your spending 700k on a cx5 you get neither???

I haven’t driven the Toyota as yet but it definitely offers more practicality , but I’d choose the Mazda for build quality in the interior.
