I can look at that Person in the video "All Day". That you for teaching me something new, as a military veteran I believe in learning new terms and things. However, the one thing that has always alluded me was that darn Eye Dr. Prescription. Thanks for the lesson. The US Army needs Doctors/Teachers like you.
When prescription is Filled, the ADD is added to the Sph algebraic method. This is to get your READING/Bifocal prescription. Yes, the ADD prescription is placed on top of the Sph. -3.00 Sph with an ADD of +2.50. THEN your reading prescription is -0.50
Hi. Could you help me please. In the DIST. P.D I have in my prescription OD = 28,50 and in OS = 31,0. You show in this video only 1 number (60). Does this mean I have to summarize these 2 amounts? Thanks.
uhm i actually used her form of CYL and AXIS bc im ordering lenses online and idunno mines and my grades are just the same in that form, since the pesky eye doctor didn’t hand me something like this, and now i had them and they’re pretty good tbh😂
Well done so far my understsnding; however, some things not clear about sp, cydr, axis etc, how they combined come in effect that i don't understood through her episode other than she's made a well done job to help us that her generality Thanks
Hi! In the last 3-4 years, I had two prescriptions, and two respective glasses made based on such prescriptions. I am kindly asking for an advice because I was never fully happy with both of them. To quickly give an idea, the first pair was made back in December 2013, whereas the second pair was made in May 2016. I always found the first pair of glasses (Dec. 2013) somehow too weak, whereas the correction made by the second pair (May 2016) felt too strong... First prescription of the glasses made in 2013: Right: +0.25, (-0.75, 0°), Left: (-0.50, 0°), no spherical lens correction therefore for the left eye in this case. The second prescription, made in May 2016, was as follows: Right: +0.5, (-0.75, 175°), Left: +0.5, (-0.75, 175°). The first thing I noticed is the difference in the axis: does 0° and 175° imply a similar correction, or not at all? Concerning the other values, I realize the differences are not that big, but I never felt too comfortable with both of them (although I always preferred to use the older one). I plan to buy a third pair of lenses, and I am sorry to say it, but I kind of lost trust in the two doctors who made such prescriptions. In both cases I waited almost two months for having my eyes tested, and in turn the exams were always so quick (5 minutes) and didn't give me time to even understand the exam. For this reason, would anyone kindly have some advice for the next lenses, given the information above? Thank you.
Great presentation. Easy to understand and straight forward. Thank you. I recently had cataract surgery. My physician two months later has completed my final exam and issued me a new eye glass prescription. My left eye is fantastic. I am 75 and feels like I can see like I am 25 but will still need readers. My right eye is blurry and thus I assume the need for a new eyeglass prescription. My numbers for the right eye are -1.00, +1.50, 010 and 2.50 Add. I was told I have a bit of Astigmatism in my right eye. My left eye merely says “Plano”. I assume this means I am 20/20 and no need for correction other than the 2.50 magnification to read better at near conditions. Am I reading this correct? ……and my prescription also says “Vertex Distance: 13.75”. Is this the same as what you call Pupil Distance (PD)?
He minus means your nearsighted and 0:50 means that’s the prescription you need to wear and cyl means your eye is shaped like an American football 🏈 like that x
Out of all medical departments/specialty medicine, vision doctors or techs are the absolute worst when it comes to explaining what’s going on to a patient. I know it happens all cross the board sometimes, but even SURGERY/PRE OP/POST OP where it’s the most complicated to explain, does better. I work in medicine, so I’ve heard it all. We ALL use medical terminology to communicate with each other back office, and I know average stuff about the eye, but my good god. These docs gotta bring vision out of the Stone Age and figure it out cause that’s the biggest complaint from patients. Maybe my doctor wasn’t all that good, but I’ve seen it all across the board, and it happens ALL THE TIME
I just wanted to know if my sight was a strong prescription or a weaker one... ill put it like this I started watching this video in 720p and when I took my glasses off it started looking like a porno from the 70's lol
Yes. The plus is because farsighted people need converging (magnifying) lens to correct the problem. The plus is for the magnification on the lens, rather than the actual eye. Reverse for nearsightedness, where the lens are diverging or minimising and therefore a minus.
Is it the person left/right or my left/right? My contacts have different eye prescription: OD: 4.75 OS: 5.00 Not sure if it’s my left/right or the other persons left/right....
I couldn't get past the first 30 seconds. Too much distraction from the "music" in the background. Why would someone deliberately make it difficult to understand a speaker by overlaying a soundtrack?
Thanks! Out of all the videos I watched about how to read a prescription, this one made the most sense to me!

OD (ocular dexter) right eye, OS (ocular sinister) left eye.
Weird flex but Ok
Very clear and to the point - thank you !!
She’s so cute!
Wow she answered all my questions
This is the best explanation video I found

Yes, the ADD prescription is placed on top of the Sph. -3.00 Sph with an ADD of +2.50. THEN your reading prescription is -0.50
Great video and straight to the point. I was able to figure all this out in 3 mins! Thank you so much!!
Hi, good presentation, but, never seen Negative add in prescription!
Thank you! You gave a very clear and precise explanation that was very easy to understand. This was a great help for me ordering glasses on line. :)
She has some beautiful eyes too 😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️
Im nearsighted in my right and farsighted in my left
I thought farsighted meant I cant see far boy was I wrong
do you walk around in circles not knowing whether you're coming or going?
thank you, very simple to understand. how do you know what frame size to order if you were ordering your own glasses. do you have to do measurements?
SHORT SWEET & TO THE POINT✔✔✔
the add is usually positive, and of equal strength
Thanks for the clarification!
Thanks for the clarity👍
2:00 I thought ADD was always positive. I had no idea that you could have a negative ADD.
She switched glasses throughout this vid...
Thanks
@@ViratKohli-jj3wj so?
The ADD will have a plus sign before the number +2.50

Lmaoo
my prescription looks a little different. it has sphere, cylinder, axis, prism, V/A
My prescription says PD: 59/56, what does that mean?
So the only number that matters for contact lenses is the sphere power?
not always, you can have astigmatism and ADD, you also need to know the base curve and diameter. Contact Lens prescriptions are very different.
Well done so far my understsnding; however, some things not clear about sp, cydr, axis etc, how they combined come in effect that i don't understood through her episode other than she's made a well done job to help us that her generality
Thanks
How do I found out my diopters?
Additional is usually not different in both eye
Thank you so much 😃This really helps 🤗
Excellent never knew this before you made it so easy many thanks again
Awesome
Does the ADD need to be the same for both eyes?
If someone does not have astigmatism will it then say 0 zero on CYL and AXIS?
right
yes

how do they measure add? i don't have it on my script but she said she thought i should move onto progressives ??
What is VA?

I have a question, my doctor said my prescription is -600, is that the same as -6.0? I'm so confused, can someone help me?😭
Yes. It is the same as -6.0.
What does DS TJXMAR R-4.00 L-4.00 mean?
This is a very useful video
:P
What does -0.50 cyl mean I don’t see it anywhere when I’m trying to order online?
He minus means your nearsighted and 0:50 means that’s the prescription you need to wear and cyl means your eye is shaped like an American football 🏈 like that x

well that was helpful I can now read my prescription whoop whoop
You did not explain what those numbers meant. For example: Axis=080, axis means blurry, but 080?
Axis doesnt means blurry it means in which degree you have astigmatism and astigmatism means blurry but it depends how high is your astigmatism.
Omg thank you so much for this! It was very helpful
Mam my right eye power is SPR -2.5 and CLR -2.5. then what power lens I need to take.??
I just wanted to know if my sight was a strong prescription or a weaker one... ill put it like this I started watching this video in 720p and when I took my glasses off it started looking like a porno from the 70's lol
So why negative 4.00, u didn't explain that
Are you sure that farsightedness means plus power and nearsightedness means minus power??
Yes. The plus is because farsighted people need converging (magnifying) lens to correct the problem. The plus is for the magnification on the lens, rather than the actual eye. Reverse for nearsightedness, where the lens are diverging or minimising and therefore a minus.
I cant see.from distant and my spere prescription is negative
Is it the person left/right or my left/right? My contacts have different eye prescription: OD: 4.75
OS: 5.00
Not sure if it’s my left/right or the other persons left/right....
How important is the axis?
Hiiii destini
Cool, thank you!
How to measure PD by yourself? There was nothing to click on
Madam which number is low in glass number - or + ? 0.4 is low or high?
I have (sph) +8.50 in my right eyes and +2.oo in my left eye. What it mean. Is it dangerous for me
Thank you!!😀
My prescription didn't come with an add number
Can the add be of negative sign?
Background music sound is too high :(
You can still hear her clearly
I find the title oddly ironic
I got sph -3 and cylinder -1 does that mean i got -4 power?please reply anyone
Add your both spherical powers
I never combine it, I always say for the sph and cyl separate measures.
I'm an optometrist now?! Just need my white coat!
can we cure this problem by operation
yes through LASIK surgery
What’s pd tho. Slick as hell
Anyone notice she isn't wearing actual prescription glasses.
Wahat is the meaning of result of PD IS 69mm
Hard to listen with music going.
i tested 5.2 5.2 is that good?
I FINALLY FOUND IT
you forgot prism
I don't have a stigma, and I was a -0.75 it's awkward when u think he put a strong lense cause u can't see jack shit but it was your normal eyes 😂👍🏻
It's long sighted or short sighted! Get it right
Hindi me video upload karo pliz

👌
You are beautiful
- Addition?? Wow also your spectacle is out of alignment.. definitely not the place where I’d get my glasses made..
You look Like Sabrina Doll !
