    Thank you. I was unaware the non-lucrative visa required an application for residency. I must have misread the embassy's website. Anyway, I plan to apply to a bonafide language school and apply for a student visa for less than 183 days.

    • @youtoospain
      @youtoospain  Год назад +1

      Most of the visas are basically the gateway to residency and are a two stage process. Applying for a visa stamp in your passport is the first part, the second part is after you arrive in Spain when you visit immigration with your stamped passport and finish the residency process, it’s only then with your foreigner’s ID number NIE and your residency card TIE that you’re officially a resident.
      A student visa is one of the different ones because it’s not designed for permanent residency

    great video and info. My father needs to renew his nie/tie (i think) asap. expired and need to take a cruise out of Barcelona to the Mediterranean. Married to my mother a Spanish citizen..living in Spain for over 5 years..cruise says he cant travel without that. is this correct?

    • @youtoospain
      @youtoospain  Год назад

      If the cruise people are telling him that then he should do it, but as the spouse of an EU citizen he’s entitled to freedom of movement in the EU.
      I would get it renewed anyway, because it would be a permanent residency TIE card as he’s done his 5 years.

    I have a green card like at 1:23 with a NIE number from before brexit ( i think around 2010 when i lived and paid tax in spain for two years). Does this card grant me the right to live and work in Spain? Or is there a process I still need to go through to get this right? Thanks in advance :)

    • @youtoospain
      @youtoospain  8 месяцев назад

      Sadly no, you’ll need a visa to live here, and the working visas aren’t the easiest to get.

    What is this process?
    Please make a vedio about this.

    • @youtoospain

      I could if it existed. There’s no such thing as temporary citizenship. Perhaps you’re talking about getting temporary residency on a student visa?

      @@kaniz2505 thanks, there wouldn’t be any point in speaking to me as I’m not an expert on student visas, I’m a presenter. Your local Spanish consulate website should have the information you need so that’s the place to start looking. Your university in Barcelona should also have people to guide you.
