I think the video definitely define the purpose, but the examples are even a greater emphasis why we need it. I can't wait for virtual reality tech in all classrooms. Getting actual hands on, an artificially experience what the real world is like for students to experience will give a lasting impression. Well -presented video, thank you for the hard work you put into it.
This is high-quality work. A similar book I read was equally sterling and impactful. "The Art of Meaningful Relationships in the 21st Century" by Leo Flint
Sam, thank you SO very much for offering these tutorials. I believe you mentioned creating student-facing videos as well? I'm sure you are swamped, but if you have made such videos please point me in the right direction. I've spend a some time searching your available videos and didn't find them.
Hi Sarah! I've actually build a separate channel just for student tutorials! I've just been so busy these past couple of weeks that I haven't been able to put up a video announcement, but I've been regularly adding video to it. Here's the link: ruclips.net/channel/UCLgkzdg1YtJBMD-A080N1xg
In Elementary I can choose to ditch textbooks but they use textbooks in middle school and high school so they need to get use to the idea that not every source of info has something animated or fun.
Yeah, I hear where you're coming from. I definitely don't think every source of info has to be animated or fun, and understand the point that you're making that students need to be able to access information from a wide variety of texts, including "boring textbooks." That being said, the idea behind "ditching textbooks" is more about finding more engaging, relevant ways of presenting information when possible, but that doesn't have to mean ditching textbooks entirely, in the same way teaching with technology doesn't mean doing away with pencil and paper. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
very helpful video. Can I get PowerPoint slides on the topic of the best use of technology inside the classroom? because I want to give training to teachers in my school and I am looking for good content. your help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Hey Rohaan, I don't have any slides to share with you but you could try using some new AI platforms that create slides for you. Here are some options - penji.co/ai-presentation/
Hey! Thanks again for your videos. Question for you about Group meet breakout rooms - not the extension). I created nicknamed group meet room links for groups to enter in. I open them first so they can get in, and have noticed that I can leave and they still are in. However, I want to have them all open and mute tab quieted so I can jump in to a group if they have a question. Now in the second week of 100% online learning, it's been a nightmare with wifi and slow computers. I find that my group rooms close on me due to wifi issues, and students are waiting on me. Is there a way to set it so they can go to their group rooms without me having to first open each one?
Hi Andrea, so sorry for the long delay responding here. Hopefully the new updates that were just released for Meet have addressed these issues. I'll be making a video about the updates soon!
