- Sermon delivered by His Eminence Metropolitan Demetrius on the Sunday of the Last Judgment (Meatfare), February 14/27, 2022, at Saint John of San Francisco Orthodox Monastery, Cobleskill, NY.
"To be separated from God is torment." What a powerful statement.
I like the calmness in his voice, the message is hard but it’s full of love.
Yes I too sense there is Love in this Priests heart as well MrRickkramer.
I try not to sin, but always do in weakness. All I can do is beg god for mercy.
Forgive me Lord a sinner have Grace on me a child of God

Yes the end is near...no doubt. The signs are very clear. Pray, confession, communion that should be the center of our lives. Events are accelarating. Make peace with God
It is beautiful how the light seems to emanate from the mouth of the icon of Christ during his eminence's homily.

This feels nice to listen to compared to catholic/protestant sermons' yelling and shaking and throwing around. This is true godly peace channeled.
You couldve made a nice comment without attacking others. I never saw any catholic screaming in homily. You need to learn more about the difference between catholics and protestants before you write.
@@etcwhatever It is not attacking anyone, I am just comparing to what I saw in catholic sermons and by listening to some preachers. Not all are like that but vast majority of them are yelling and shaking and losing it on the stage and you cannot tell me that is not true.

Master bless. As I listen to you today, I feel my "feet firmly planted on the earth." I see the path in front of me and am reminded of how important it is to take the steps laid out in front of me...the spiritual steps. I feel like I'm facing the right way now...I can, with God's help, begin to take steps again.
With every step, I know I can fall (as life experience has taught me so clearly), but I see the path now again clearly laid out as well. Thank you Archbishop Demetrius for showing it, reminding us of it and helping to "ground" me in it. Thank you. The Lord reward you richly for all your help and prayers for all of us.
As Forgiveness Sunday is coming, I offer you a poklone and ask your forgiveness, along with the Brotherhood.
Every time I hear you mention the writings of St. Makarios of Egypt, I begin to fill with such joy...Thank you for that reminder, too.

One day I will say these words myself. For now I am like an explorer lost in foreign land. Nothing is familiar. I don't know where to go, much less what to do about it. Some days I wish the end would come and scoop me out. Some days I wish there is no such a thing as me. This person I am. How peaceful would that be.

I can appreciate the Old Calendar. It’s not worth a schism, but I have great respect for the Old Calendar. That’s why there is ROCOR, and ROCOR is canonical without being Ecumenical.
I don’t need made up Dioceses.
ROCOR created the old-calendar Church Unquestionably. In fact, these are the true descendants of ROCOR. They are faithful to Metropolitan Philaret. They're not so kooky like the other Russian fringe groups.
@@godsaveus4380 I don’t know what you are talking about. 1st, old calendar existed in the ancient church, before the new calendar was created because of a mathematical discrepancy in the number of days in the calendar year related to how long it takes to go around the sun. It’s called the Julian calendar. So, ROCOR did not create the old calendar.
2nd: ROCOR is still around and it is not fringe. ROCOR exists because of communism in Russia and a separation of church and state to prevent communists from removing doctrinal and traditional practice from the lineage of the church.
3rd: You mention fringe and if this group, the GOC of America, is not fringe, I don’t know what fringe is. There are some 14,000 adherents and there is no Apostolic Lineage that can be traced that is not self proclaimed.
4th: I am not an ecumenist. I will never be a part of the ecumenical heresy, but this untraceable group is schismatic if nothing else. They are an island from what I can tell. Their own island, created by a monk, and a seemingly delusional one at that, who took his own pride out of Athos into his own self made incarnation of the Church.
Again I say…if this is not fringe, I don’t know what is.
Well, you totally missed the point. This group is not a fringe group because ROCOR had full Communion with them. When did they become uncanonical, when ROCOR joined Moscow? Do you know ROCOR history? These bishops were ordained by ROCOR bishops. If ROCOR is canonical, so is the GOC. The fringe groups I am talking about is not the traditional ROCOR, but the other Russian groups that claim that they came from Vladika Vitaly.
Again, if ROCOR is canonical, then so is the GOC! Fr. Seraphim Rose totally recognized this Church because ROCOR did. Sheesh, people don't read history.
Also, where in the world did you get the number 14 000 adherents? There are around 8 thousand just in North America. This Church is in Communion with around 2 million people.
@@godsaveus4380 Was ROCOR not schismatic at the time that they were in communion with them and their bishops had "succession"? I thought ROCOR was canonical precisely because of the restored communion with Moscow. Is this not the case?

And God will surely support those who support Him. Indeed, God is Powerful and Exalted in Might.
Note: Why did Allah protected Churches and Synagogues if they worship false Allah ?
( Why Are There So Many Different Religions In The World ? )
Quran 5 48
''...... If God wanted He could have made all of you a single nation.( ie single religion ) But He willed otherwise in order to test you in what He has given you (ie Scriptures) therefore try to excel one another in good deeds. Ultimately you all shall return to God then He will show you the truth of those matters in which you '' >DISPUTE verb < not noun like other religions
Islam mean "submission" to God
( The above verse saying is that God will not accept a religion from the >MUSLIM< and the Non-Muslims but total "submission" to God )
Question: How Can Muslim And the Non-Muslim "submit" to the God?
Answer: Be kind to other human beings and Do not lie, Do not steal, Do not cheat, Do not hurt others, Do not be prideful and Do the charity work.
Note: If you obeyed all the ABOVE Allah-God's moral laws "YOU" submitted to God.( ie Islam mean "submission" to God )
The only people who will enter Paradise those who '' Submitted to God '' ( ie by good deeds )
God does NOT accept your religion of birth but only ''Your Total'' Submission to Him.
( God Allows Interfaith Marriages And Eat Food From the Christian And Jew And Vice Versa )
Quran 5:5
''This day [all] good foods have been made lawful, and the food of those who were given the Scripture (ie Christian and Jew) is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them. And [lawful in marriage are] chaste women from among the believers (ie Muslim ) and chaste women from among those who were given the Scripture (ie Christian and Jew) before you, when you have given them their due compensation, desiring chastity not unlawful sexual intercourse or taking [secret] lovers. And whoever denies the faith - his work has become worthless and he in the Hereafter will be among the losers.''
Note: > Only < Islam allows interfaith marriages (>14 hundredsSame God< but They are >ALL Corrupt< more or less, some more than others from their original foundational teaching. The older religion are MORE corrupted than newer religion.
Question to Muslim and Christian:
Does God / Allah only answer your pray ?
And God / Allah does not answer non Muslim / non Christian pray?
Did Allah '' Canceled '' all other religions Judaism and Christianity?
Quran 5:48
'' And We have revealed to you [O Muhammad] the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture ( ie New and old Testament ) and as a criterion over it. So judge between them by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what has come to you of the truth. >>>TO EACH OF YOU WE PRESCRIBED A LAW AND A METHODone nation>differ qualified < for to enter Paradise )
On the day of judgement God will ''NOT'' judge humanity bases on Sunni Muslim sect VS Shia Muslim sect ''NOR'' by Muslim VS non-Muslim >but< Doer of Goods VS Doer of Evils.
'' YOUR " birth in the Muslim's family is NOT a > qualification < for to enter the Paradise.
'' YOUR " religion / sect / foot long beard is NOT a > qualification < for to enter the Paradise.
The > qualification < to enter Paradise is > Faith in God and Good Work
Jesus is Lord. He is the only Lord, there is none beside Him.
We follow the Bible which comes way before your Quran book. That should tell you something. There is nothing needed for salvation outside the Bible. May the Holy Spirit open your eyes
