Father, things have been changing drastically. Through sickness and other painful misfortunes God has awakened me from my sleep. Lies have been replaced with Truth. He was saving me even though I thought it was a curse. I'm still dealing with it now. I ask for your supplication.
May God help you to walk the straight path. You must be aware that the evil one will try to trip you up, pray and pray and pray, and don't give up.

Never give up. The Lord will forgive you if you persist in asking for forgiveness and help.
Father, when I was at the monastery venerating the Kursk Root Icon I experienced the presence of God in a way I never had before. It was overwhelming and I thought I couldn't handle it. It was kind of scary at first but not in the wrong way. It was just so much holiness and light that I felt like I could die. I never felt so unworthy. But there was still alot of darkness inside of me that needed to be dealt with and much needed repentance. Not that I needed to experience that but it helped me realize in a very personal way that we are all going to face that great energy and light and the only way to face it is to become apart of it. I still have these moments when I step close to the altar at monastery and its like I've left the earth for a second. Or in the service where you have this timeless feeling like your in a royal temple that has always been and will always be and nothing else really exists outside of it.
Hold on to the grace. May the Mother of God be your helper in all things.
God granted me an experience with the Mother of God when I went to venerate the Kursk Root icon as well. It was other worldly and I can’t explain it with words. It was a confirmation to me that the Mother of God truly does intercede for us continually and she is there to help us in our afflictions. May we have her prayers and may God save us!
I’ve felt that same feeling. You described it very well. This has been the first time I’ve heard about someone else having such of an experience.

You know, I was born orthodox, but grew up without much guidance and in an almost atheist family.
God didn't want me to perish, tough, and I found my faith after a lot of searching. But after a youth of sin, things were NOT EASY.
So, one day, as I was walking down the street, full of sadness, almost in despair, forever keeping my head down because of my mental and spiritual state, asking God in my mind why everything is so difficult for me, i found a beer cap on the ground.
I don't know why I picked it up and flipped it. I never do such things. On the inside, it had a message: DON'T BE DISCOURAGED.
That message was for losers in some raffle that was going on at the time... but it made ME feel like a winner!
God is RIGHT THERE with you... don't lose your courage! 🙂🤗
I would really recommend reading the lives of the saints, especially long accounts. Through them, God will awaken a desire to serve Him, and drive away despondency, if we pray for it. Keep on going. God's grace will come

Persevere friend, without wavering. I was addicted to porn and spent a lifetime trying and falling to break it's spell. It's been 7 years now that I have been freed from this addiction, with daily prayer, fasting and receiving the Holy Eucharist at Church. Although, I'm always mindful to guard my eyes, I no longer have any interest in viewing porn and even feel a certain amount of revulsion when confronted with immodesty in women. Praise be to God.

Please pray for me, battled these spells, suffered many years, still hanging on, one grief, one loss after another, I cannot explain it, why do I have to suffer so much, while the o godly are blessed. I am tired, exhausted , it’s hard to wrap my mind around the evil selfish users and abusers. It’s hard to live always in grief, sorrow, trying to be close to God, I am learning I should have been good to me instead of everyone else, the world will strip you, destroy you slander you and laugh at you, when you have no desire to do anything but good for them.
Take courage, dear brother. The way to the Resurrection is the way of the Cross. Give glory to God in your griefs, and don't be faint-hearted. God is preparing you for His Kingdom, teaching you humility. Accept it with thanksgiving. Don't lose the crown.

Evlogeite. Our ancestors in the Faith lived for centuries without television and radio broadcasts. During Great Lent it is helpful to unplug or turn off the TV and radio and replace them with the reading of the Lives of the Saints and the appointed Scriptural readings. This is something that strengthens us to concentrate on our repentance.

They think they can force the hand of God to come sooner by rushing the way corruption is occurring. What is done in the dark will be seen in the light.

While This Homily Doesn't outright reject minority people. It is negative enough that if I were to share this with some of my Gay or queer friends would say "Oh I suppose Jesus isn't for me as I am damned either way." It is unfortunate I have friends who feel Christ does not matter or Care because they are different. Even though Reconciliation and Faith are incredibly important.
Queer people only know the violent condemnation of Protestantism and Catholicism. We need to work at not rejecting others. But Also we need classes or special care for LGBT people as my LGBT family members suffer deeply. So many of them turn to paganism because they think Christ doesn't care. They rebel or only see the evil of men as what Christianity is about.
It feels like I need to try extra hard to just defend and prove my faith sometimes, But I'm over thinking it. I want my LGBT friends to seek salvation. It scares me when they reject Christ due to the Hate from bigots in this world.

Someone sent me this sermon and i have to say it will have a permanent strong positive impact on me for the rest of my life.What happend in Greece for me is darkest day in history for with this government's decision as a nation we reject Christ.But with all respect the parthenon was built in 500 bc as a temple dedicated to Athina who was considered to be a virgin.In the byzantine times they used for a church but its structure was not suitable to be used as a church.
Thank you for your message. The point about the Parthenon is significant. We know that it was once a pagan temple, but it was converted to a Church (like many other temples) to the Theotokos. This signified the victory of Christianity over paganism. After Greece's liberation, the European powers wanted to stress ancient Greek pagan culture more than its Orthodox roots. That's one of the reasons why Greece is off track today. Europe has taken the place of Glorious Romiosini.

I don’t know many of the practices of orthodoxy Christianity but I was in Israel in 2022 and I was able to learn about the correct hand posture when saying Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I am Catholic now after growing up as Protestant. We are different but some similarities. I converted due to the lack of reverence. I do not see women in this church. I have experienced Jesus and seen visions of the Throne in deep prayer. Always when praying for others. God bless you all. ❤
Hello! Christ is Risen! This is a men's monastery. That is why there are no women in the church. If you go to any parishes, or a women's monastery, there are lots of women.

Great Lent begins on March 18th. The fast excludes water for those who can. Others only drink water after 3 pm, but do not eat.

Orthodox fast you dont abstain from all food and water. The fast is almost 1.5months long. Try make some effort to educate yourself with already vastly available information and if you still have questions come back.
The first three days, however, we maintain a complete fast. No food at all, if you can.
This is what I've been missing in Christianity, someone actually teaching us , but what I really need is direction to best find this an somewhere my questions can be answered ,debated, and hopefully educated, I was brought up in a Devout RC home , but because I've questions they dont want to or cant answer it has now cost me my faith , Yes because they cant be ansered I can't keep going , I'm lost but so dearly want to find the path and I think this is why so many are getting lost these days when things dont make sense Self righteous arrogance doesn't cut it anymore , we need help now please ....so sisters and brothers any help for a brother from Scotland would be so helpful,, we're do I turn to find answers as I can't in the RC faith 😢 🙏💔
Many, like you, have the same feelings. They have discovered the Orthodox faith because of those feelings and search. That's what you need to do. Pray sincerely, search sincerely, humble your heart, and you will find the Truth.

I don't believe that once saved we "fall" into sin. But rather we succumb to temptation at the point of emotion or sensation. It is at the time of temptation that we choose our next move which will either run to the Father God or we succumb to temptation.
We don't believe in personal interpretation of the scriptures, but in the explanation of the God-inspired Holy Fathers, who know from direct contact with God.

Christ is Risen! He did not have true repentance. The original Greek does not really use the word "repent" but "regret." I hope that helps.

(Psalm 37) Do we really need to copy the vile language of political confusion in speaking of a NWO? Isn't it better as an Orthodox Christian to reflect on our own sins and repent? What is the purpose of agitating our hearts and minds with these things. Why listen to factions of political Christians that instigate hate and confusion by calling (a) Biden or (b) Trump the antichrist and so on? The world government is not here but our sins are. Lord have mercy...
If you follow the sermons, you will notice that 99.9% of the time, His Eminence preaches repentance. But, we have a serious problem on our hands, and the problem is closely related to repentance (or the lack thereof) because this evil agenda is being pushed on children. The Holy Fathers always spoke publicly about the problems of their times and often with very strong language.
There is no vile language here.

,,,,,.. I am saddened by such presentations for their continual inaccuracies about who the antichrist is and when he arises. Daniel’s visions answer these questions.
1. Daniel is plainly and specifically told his vision experiences are about the “time at the end”. Therefore, those who attempt to connect old past events to Daniel’s visions could not be more wrong.
2. Daniel’s visions tell us plainly and specifically that the antichrist (aka known in Daniel’s visions as the little horn, the final king of the north and the vile person, rises to power in the nation with the greatest military of the planet.
3. However, the king of the north’s military is not the only powerful military on the planet at the time. Daniel details 6 wars fought between the successive kings of the north and successive kings of the south. Therefore, there is no one-world government. How could there be with such wars and a military capable of challenging the king of the north?
4. Daniel also tells us how the vile person rises to power. The little horn subdues 3 of the 10 kings within the vile person’s kingdom. He “pulls them up by their roots” in his rise to power. And he comes to power “speaking flatteries” and “peace”.
5. Daniel also tells when he rises to power: In the estate (institution) of a king (a king of the north) known as a “raiser of taxes” whose time in power is only “for a few days”, the vile person rises to power. Again, unequitable facts presented by Daniel.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of all that is revealed about the antichrist in Daniel’s vision experiences. So, one may ask why these presenters keep getting it so wrong?
God always reveals to man the future. But in this case, God ordained that the understanding of two (2) of the visions in Daniel about the “time at the end” be withheld (“sealed”) until the “time at the end” had arrived. These last 2 visions were “unsealed” not that long ago. However, we are just now discovering the understanding of their full meaning as expressed in the specific interpretations Daniel was given. Because 2 of these visions were sealed until the time at the end had arrived, it was impossible to understand the visions until they were unsealed.
Further, in order to accurately understand the visions in Daniel about the time at the end, you must understand all 5 of the visions in the sequence they are presented. Together, they form a complete picture …as they are each from different perspectives on the same topic. Each vision of the 5 visions adds additional related details to the picture, but all culminate into one larger, detailed political picture AND political sequence. So, until these two visions were unsealed, it was not possible to understand the visions accurately. Why this fact is ignored is beyond me.
God doesn’t play dice. Everything He does is on purpose. This is why to gain a good understanding of the visions; they must be understood in the order God presents them.
We are well into this sequence of events described in Daniel’s last vision, which is by far the most detailed vision. We are actually now witnessing the rise of the most powerful political leader the world has ever seen. He will slowly unveil himself as he does not want his real identity known until the right time. For him, that is 3.5 years into a peace treaty he will be negotiating after he takes office in 2024.
Daniel tells us what is unfolding right before our eyes today and in the years just ahead. We can literally find a political blueprint of the sequence of events unfolding today in Danial’s final vision.
The nation the little horn leads is “the most powerful nation on earth”, but interestingly, the vision also describes it as a “divided nation” as “iron does not mix with clay” and where “truth is thrown to the ground”. It is a nation “diverse” from previous great kingdoms. It will be “partly strong and partly broken” as are the “Ten toes of iron and clay”. This nation is the United States; the fourth beast in Daniels vision.
Today, no other nation is as powerful militarily as the United States. The US was founded on principles never before actually tried with any previous earthly government. And never before had such an “experiment” in governance produced such fantastic results for its people.
People need to remember that the USA was primarily founded by those who inherited the old Roman Empire. The inheritors of the old Roman Empire migrated to the “new World” as they called it. The 10 kings within this empire are 10 super-elites who wield enormous political and financial power over the USA.
In Daniel’s sequence of events we are experiencing the 3rd of 6 wars between successive kings of the north and kings of the south. The peace treaty is negotiated by the next and final king of the north with the final king of the south.
The 4th war is won by the king of the north by “casting devices” on the military of the king of the south. Moreover, Daniel is told the king of the north is currently also “cast devices” on others to keep any opposing actions in check.
I always thought it was strange how the USA doesn’t seem to be prominent in Revelations. However, it wasn’t until I began to read, study and slowly understand the 5 visions in Daniel about the “time at the end” that the USA’s role becomes crystal clear. I was truly surprised.

I do realize that this is a new interpretation from the old traditional interpretation of Daniel's vision experiences. It is fairly new to me too as I began to study them last May 2023. No one is more surprised than me.

@@OrthodoxTradition Im sorry I was unclear. I meant the 3 days fast before Great Lent fast that His Eminence was encourageing us to partake in. Was it just the first 3 days of The Great Lent fast or a separate a couple of days before?
It was a fast that was kept After (and including) Clean Monday and for 3 consecutive days, no food or only dry bread.
During the 40 lent, oil and seafood is only allowed on the weekends, which very few people know.
The thing is, there must be a strong prayer life during this time in order to sustain us spiritually. We must also fast according to our ability and needs.
You should consult your spiritual Father however on how you should fast lest you be tempted by pride.
