You really can't see the Packard plant demolition from the street. You need a drone view to see what is going on with the demolition. No explosions or wrecking ball are being used, to protect the adjoining property. Just a slow and gradual demolition. A very serene view to me.
Captivating journey! Thanks for sharing the mesmerizing drive through Downtown Detroit and the abandoned factory. Your video captures the essence perfectly.😀👍👍
Detroit! The Paris of the West. You'll just never find architecture like this. The wide plazas and overall walkability of the city is simply amazing. The mix of art deco and parisian is unmatched, to the almost cyberpunk aesthetic of the Renaissance Center and its surrounding skyscrapers. Really there is no city like it. Clickbait aside of Detroits "abandonment", the city has had a comeback one could only dream of in the past 10 years. You cannot love/appreciate architecture or cityscapes in general without loving Detroit.
Mr. Utah, what are you driving, lol? I've watched a lot of your videos and I don't think I've EVER heard your car make any noise! Joking aside, please keep these videos coming! They've helped me plan a fair few vacations!
I saw a rendering online where there was supposed to have been much more to it, like condos literally around the towers but wasn't feasible or something like that smh
And what's even better is the original William Durant 1921 General Motors building in the New Center district. Really, Detroit is known for being a city built in the 1920's. The old GM was the world's second largest building by square footage when completed. Unfortunately, most people are familiar only with the core downtown and never see the many other districts of Detroit, or those of the immediate, surround older towns.
Well not sure if you've actually been inside, but the inside is just as impressive. Massive pillars and the circular internal design is beautiful. At least it was back in 2014 when I last visited. I believe it's a hotel ? But yea its a shame they didn't invest more in the surrounding areas and build it up a bit more@@thebestchannel5456
yeah..good timing, that could have taken all four of us in the car out instantly..drive defensively. showed this to a family member of mine in medicine and he said t-bone crashes at intersections like this are the most deadly accidents. that truck is probably 10 tones (20,000 lbs) running a red at 40 mph
more like confirmed biases. Noone is doubting that Detroit has a lot of work ahead of it, but it also isnt more "real" that there are run down parts than the parts that are seeing large investments and construction.

Passeio motorizado incrível por Detroit - EUA, dia bastante chuvoso, parabéns Mr. J Utah, e muito obrigado meu nobre brother pelo o seu excelente vídeo.
Sad seeing all the abandoned warehouse on the outskirts. What are those stacks with smoke coming out of them? Slightly taller than a man and placed on street corners?
I really enjoyed this excellent video. I heard that Detroit was 'coming back' and looking at the city center, it certainly looks to be true. So nice to see many of the old high rise office buildings, a lively entertainment district, plenty of large open spaces with green grass (probably where many buildings once stood). It could have been a gloomy ride in the rain, but in my opinion, it was anything but. And it certainly isn't the image of Detroit that I had in my head. I have a new, optimistic image for Detroit, and I would definitely visit there if I lived closer. I assume you recorded this video on a Sunday? The traffic flow wasn't the greatest. One last question: how do you mange to keep rain off of your camera lens? Thank you J Utah! 👍 EDIT: Now that I have finished watching the entire video, I must revise my optimism! The industrial/residential area surrounding the former Packard complex is horrendous. The streets look like something from a third-world country. Yeah, *this* is, sadly, the Detroit image that I have had in mind.
Detroit was considered one of the most dangerous cities in the United States. Public safety was abandoned. In addition, a few years ago, the city had gone bankrupt, was going through a crisis and had even had its population reduced
I thought this video was about the largest abandoned factory in the world. But clearly it's not. It's about a drive thru some part of Detroit. RE-NAME THE VIDEO.

ugh those gm towers look so sick i love their design
That’s because they were designed and built by the Ford Motor Company, 1971, GM didn’t buy or occupy it until 1996
