I guess they are trying to raise awareness about climate change. But I thought "Red Flag Day" was about Syrian refugees and their troubles, when fleeing their country?

Great song, but the video kind of misses the mark. The surfing scenes are very cool, but the song really is metaphorical, about committing to another person. It would have been better if the surfing scenes were interspersed with some romantic scenes of a young couple on the beach (they could even be surfers), looking into each others' eyes, wading into the water, etc. Just my opinion...

The romantic angle is an interesting take. As a companion song to Summer of Love, I had interpreted it to be about the Syrian refugee and broader migrant crisis. However, I can see a romantic metaphor also intertwined with the political message. Both can be true.
