- This is a past customer coming back for some more goodies.
This time he provided a Katech Bored out throttle body and a GM Performance Intake.
From past experience, the Throttle body makes a massive difference in the response aspect, the slight dead spot off idle is completely eliminated .
Plus a bunch of power in the lower RPMs
The GM Performance intake not only adds some power, we affect the warranty and has been tested by GM to make upto 17HP

The slight hesitation is programmed into the vehicle at time of production for torque management they say, not the throttle body.
Regarding the C7 Z06 you dont really want more power down low because the stock car already spins the MPSS tires from a dead start. Increasing the power down low just means more spin. You want the power to be above 3000 RPM because NA torque is enough to spin the rear wheels. Even the GS spins those 335/25/20 tires.
Throttle response is a big issue on the Z06 from what I’ve read. Not so much on the ZR1. But the ZR1 does come with a unique 95mm throttle body which may have a different bore contour than the Z06 throttle body. But I still went ahead and put on a Soler 100mm equivalent throttle body along with the GM performance airbox. To be honest, my butt dyno couldn’t tell any difference.
I put on the tony mamo ported throttle body borla x pipe and bms air filter she rips good
Can you show a Stock LT1 Z51 with this mod and compare low end power???
I just got a GM autentistic air high flow performance filer air intake and installed it on my k24z7 and i still have no gains? Wont even kick in the vtec y0! Will stickers help me get the gainz, please advise....long time listener, first time caller...

nice video..i have a 19 zo6 manuel transm..i was goen 2 put the afe one in..but the coolent hose has 2 be splicced 4 an add-on..looks cheep!!!this is nicer.

David Cruse Thanks Man. I don’t think the Auto trans has the same ‘ dull feel’ right off idle, so I don’t think the Throttle body will have quite the same affect. The intake is definitely a nice piece that fits absolutely perfect.

Nice mod nothing fancy. I was wondering if you would recommend a throttle body upgrade for a stock prb intake manifold? Something that would make a small improvement like that.
I haven’t tried it on a non ZO6, I would remove the intake tube and look for the drastic hump as shown in the video.
Would there be any noticeable difference with a Katech throttle body on a Z51 Vet.
Marcus C. Wilson Tune In Radio I’ve only installed them in ZO6 and ZR1. Check to see if you throttle body has the hump described in the video.
Thinking of doing this intake ( warranty) can you hear the supercharger better???

ConcernedConservative Not everyone launches their car. The 20” wheel and rubber band tire is never going hook for a launch anyway.
Would this throttlebody increase low end horsepower on a 2016 Z06 with the A8
I’ve never actually tried it on an Auto. They don’t have the feel of the ‘dead spot’ right off idle as the manual.
