    I just installed (12/15/23) an AFE CAI on my 2016 Z06. It wasn't a bad install, but bolting the new air box was the hardest part. Over all it took my 1 hour and 40 minutes. Thanks for the video!

    Ok I buckled and asked my Dealer to put this on my 2014 Z51 during my next oil change, I had a coupon and was a Veteran with DD214 as they advertise Vet Discounts. The bill was $1,200 with 2 hours charged to install the Filter and over $600 for the air filter. I was somewhat shocked and could be even see the coupon or Veteran discounts applied. I doubt I will use them again and I have said that before when other service turned into a cash drain. Now i think I will get the Throttle body from Katech but install it myself. D

      Omg that’s criminal. Absolutely insane

      A little pricey, but I guess that’s the way it goes.
      Did you notice any difference with this CAI? I know people often mention a quicker throttle response.

    I have this on my 2018 z06 with the lt4. Bolted it on with my brother one fun afternoon. Never dynoed it before but after the install a year later the power output was 545 hp and 580 tq Vette always runs great for me

      Hello, I have 2017 Z06 and attempted to install this in my car and have an issue with it hitting the plastic under hood heat extractor, which when closed pushes the hood out of alignment towards the drivers side. Did you experience any issues like this during your install?

    • @dmcepeda
      @dmcepeda 2 года назад +1

      @George Cross I had no problems with the install itself. The only issue I had was the top of the air box rubbing underneath the hood hard enough to take off paint. Probably during hard pulls on a warm engine and due to the air box being larger than the original oem, which is more compact. I wasn't too thrilled about it since the hoods aren't cheap, being carbon fiber.

      @@dmcepeda Thanks for responding. My install seemed simple enough as well, until I went to close the hood and had to push it down to get it to close. Then noticed the hood alignment issue which was unacceptable. Was it the rear drivers side corner of the box that was rubbing the paint off the underside of your hood? Do you not have the plastic heat extractor on the underside of your hood? Mine is hitting the plastic heat extractor at the rear drivers corner of the box. Did notice that the rear bottom of the box seemed to not make a good contact to the side of the car because of some excess black panel glue. Do you remember if your fit in flush at the bottom rear? Sorry for all the questions but your the only on who’s responded and you car is vey similar to mine. Thanks again. GC

      @@georgecross2606 Sorry, been working. The portion that was rubbing under the hood is the part right in front of the airbox window. Hard to explain without showing pictures. The plastic part of my heat extractor wasn't in the way or hitting anything for me. The hood closes good enough as long as I give it a good drop and it stays aligned when closed. As far as I could tell the bottom of the airbox seems to make good contact too and is flush all the way around. Now that I think about it, I do remember hearing that the corvettes have some amount of adjustability with their body panels to help with better fitment and panel alignment. Maybe that might be the part of the issues?

    Can you show the the torque/power curve of the LT1 stock air filter and with this Performance air Filter. I understand the Top values may not change much on the Stock LT1 but i wanted to see of mid range rpm power came in sooner with this air box installed. Dennis in Virginia.

    Can I still use my attack blue filter with this?

    Problem I had was thick black soot on exhaust, more than the norm, awful sputtering at high speeds, cars that I easily walk away from at high speeds, were on my tail. If you purchase this GM intake you will need to have it tuned to car.

      It appears some C7's did require a recalibration with the installation of this intake. It wasn't a repeatable event where every single car needed it.

    Would adding an aftermarket throttle body give any advantages on an automatic C7 ZO6?

    • @Sdpartscenter
      @Sdpartscenter  10 месяцев назад

      Just a throttle body? Not entirely worth it without also port-matching the intake manifold. There's other more worthwhile mods like headers, full exhaust, and even flex fuel tuning if you have an abundance of E85.

    Put one on my 2016 C7Z06, car ran like crap, took car in to performance shop, same guys who put cai, pulleys on my GT500, told me, anytime you change a stock air box from small to larger a tune is required. Chevy is telling people that you can just install and you’re good, not the case with this.

    I've tried more than 1 aftermarket CAI for the vette and they're all garbage, fit and finish suck and require cotton filters that do not filter as much dust/dirt. This is built like a tank and fits exact. You can also get an enlarged BMS paper filter and beat out most aftermarket on the Dyno too.

    Hi there, I have a 2016 Stingray Z51, which chip is a good plug and play you'd suggest that has great quality and best reviews? I've seen some that will get it from 460hp to 500hp but I'm still a little skeptical on those that run about $250 only. Would love your input. Everything else on the car is stock and only has about 5k miles on the car as well. It's the 7speed manual trans.

      Hi Scotty, I wouldn't recommend any performance chips out there and would definitely be wary of them.

      @@Sdpartscenter Any good gains with this C7 cold air intake or does it really take more bolt on mods to make a good difference? I'm pretty happy with what I got, would just be cool to hit that 500hp mark with little cost lol.
