Ok but Alex is just such an icon. He’s so energetic and give the most “jack black energy” if you know what I mean. But it still feels like he’s doing his own thing. His kind of comedy almost has an “improv” feel to it
Alex had that expressive energy to bring the scene to life. David related to the kids, meeting them down at their level. Conner felt like that slimy but endearingly geeky substitute. Side note: Conner not having the sweater vest helps give Dewey an unhinged and, for lack of a better term, sweaty look. Also the bald spot, but that isn't as controllable.
Woah okay there are All good, great even however; alex brightman is best but the Korean Tour guy was fuckin awesome too. That death drop was everything 🙌
Some years ago I flew my new partner on a surprise birthday treat from UK to Broadway to see the show.... Being in the audience was a much fun as the kids on stage were having, fabulous performance of a feel good show and a memorable weekend overall.
i actually went to high school with conner. we were in little shop together. He was seymour and I was audrey... so might be a tad biased on this one (sorry alex).
The inferior changing of "Lawrence is good at piano!" To "Lawrence can rock" proves the superiority of the Broadway version in its verisimilitude to the original movie
Thought that was weird too. Maybe it has to do with licensing or something. What they played in UK/Korean was from another song in show called, "Time to Play."
Who else can't stand the exaggerated overreactions from the crowd? Reminds me of Dancing with the Stars performances. To be this reactive either means everyone is intoxicated or just pure stupid. My guess is the latter.

As much as I like the UK version, I mean... You can't beat Alex
YES TRUER WORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOKEN
I’m British and it’s true

Being born and bred in the uk I like the west end but ya can’t beat Alex bright man
“I play percussion!”
“You play the symbols!”
“Shut up…”
*“SHUT UP!”*

Alex is pure soul, but Conner is amazing.
the kids with David + Alex =The Best SOR
Which one is David?

What about a wig? For the bald spot part lol
I never knew there was an empty space in my heart for this until now
1:14 I love how in the movie, it’s Zack who plays 035/Smoke on the Water, but the musical had the bassist do it
Woah okay there are All good, great even however; alex brightman is best but the Korean Tour guy was fuckin awesome too. That death drop was everything 🙌
Alex brightman is on the same level as jack Black and makes everything better
11:46 ok now that is comedy tho. Andrew Lloyd Webber, who wrote cats, also wrote School of Rock.
i love alex brightman
all i knew was the jack black movie but alex is just *chef's kiss*
Nobody can beat Alex.
the Broadway version is by far the best version!!!
As a Brit I’d normally go for west end but Alex Brightmans power is too powerful so it’s gotta go to broadway for this.
i am obsessed with how similar conner sounds to alex
I’m behaving……
Scrap that…… FINALLY mate! 😂😂😂😂
I was waiting for you to be good for a while 😂😂

@@colliedog2020 yeah sure...
I do think the broadway version is the best, but the Korean tour is criminally underrated.

i know i’m late but the last one is actually the australian cast they we’re touring in korea for a bit but they’re australian
I've watched the crossover version too many times so at 1:54 I thought he was gonna start playing phantom if the opera lol
Alex is the most "Jack Black" of all the teachers

Okay, I couldn't help but notice that the UK and Korean versions swapped out the "(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction" riff for something else.
Thought that was weird too. Maybe it has to do with licensing or something. What they played in UK/Korean was from another song in show called, "Time to Play."
He looks older from broadway to the last one
not me just skipping the west end version
SAME
Their American accents just weren’t the best
@@jessbrannon_actortrust me, I know the bloke who plays Dewey in the west end and he’s amazing
Alex stays the best, try to convince me, spoiler alert, it won't work
No Justin Collette? Shame.
There's no TV performance with him as Dewey, otherwise I would've included him
