One thing that many people don't know. The ostrich effect. The longer away from the corner you are when peeking. The less visible you are. The 2 most important things in a fight in cs is always to put yourslf in an advantage and you opponent in a disadvantage.
I commented the same thing, the concept is called Perspective.
probably the most common movement mistake made, even at high level and in pro play.
Good point, but do remember the element of surprise when peeking wide from a tight angel. In some cases swinging wide and fast, might net you some kills because the opponent isn't paying much attention. Don't overdo it though.
This is true, but it is more important to peek from close, as you will be moving much faster and harder to hit from the enemy's perspective. If you watch a pro match, you will see that every player pushes close to the wall and swings wide when they peek.
That just conceptually doesn't make sense to me.
If you peek close to the angle, the enemy will be larger (thus easier to hit) on your screen, and on the enemy's screen you will be larger (thus easier to hit)
If you peek far from the angle, the enemy will be smaller (thus harder to hit) on your screen, and on the enemy's screen you will be smaller (thus harder to hit)
They seem to cancel out for me.
@@vinegarlegate24 being close to the corner looks fast to you, not the enemy, because you are close to the thing you are peeking from. the key is to be at running speed when you clear the corner.
Warowl did a video on this
When Maxim gets to angry on his teamm8's not knowing how to peek properly, he mades a video about peeking
Probably how the idea of this video came from lol
Lol this reminds me of voo while he makes good informative content he's egoistic and doesn't talk about his own mistakes.

Did u see the last mouse pad !!
ay, you the dude who does the arabic translations, thanks for that btw!
I've played with a lot of guys who spelled PEEK as PEAK and CTs as Cities
Croquette not all people are as fluent in English as you are. for me as for person who is not so deep in English these words sound the same so i dont really care
@@nazar_dame You're right. Actually those people who made those mistakes are fun to play with.
The "peaak" part i actually understand, but the Cities hahahahaah
I prefer to say ANTITERROREINHEIT instead of CTs
Sorry I don't get it, perhaps you could help me with it, I've always said C-T's like 'Cities' I thought it was right.
Funny this video was recommended to me. Looking at the comments I remember I was once learning these things, I was a noob at cs. 3000 hours later I'm A on esea and 10 faceit. Don't get discouraged boys. Kz servers for movement, deathmatch for aim, and retake servers for situational plays. Soon enough you'll be giving free haircuts. Nice video. Cheers
Exactly what I needed to read, tysm. I just started playing csgo regularly (around 30-40 hours right now), I come from CoD, usually have around a 3kd and a 5kd in warzone. Completely different games. In cs im really struggling winning 1v1s and knowing how to use utility, guess I still don’t understand when and why to use them, I need to look at it differently. Obviously I won’t know everything in a week!
Anyway, in death match I can frag all game, but when I go into casual or ranked I just can’t do anything. Atm I’m only good with the awp and m4a1-s, I can hit shots with the awp all day. Everything else I def need work on. Your comment definitely gave me hope. I don’t expect to be pro level or anything, I just want to be decent while having fun!
Lil Fuego for sure man. I'm nowhere near pro and came to cs after playing cod competitively (gbs and tourneys), was my first mouse keyboard game too. Just practice and play and you'll get better and better each time
@@lilfuego9996 for cs, pre aim and understanding of maps play 80% for winning.
@@lilfuego9996 it is impossible to compensate the time of aiming at wrong places with your reaction time and aim. Even for pro players.
@@lilfuego9996 cod has much simpler maps so you mainly depend on your reaction time and mouse movement.
Im loving those video thanks on taking a focus on things that other youtubers think are unnecessary to explain
Despite me already knowing how to peek this video is interesting to me. Without watching videos on how to do it I have developed the same techniques naturally.
U probably watched good players in the server😂
b888 I mean It’s obviously a combination of time, experience and watching others play. My point is that I have never watched a tutorial on how to peek.
@skOsH Yeah I got used to pre aiming without any help, I consistently get opening frags on dust2 and mirage but barely on other maps like vertigo and egypt.
@@Masheen same i been recently watching alot of basic tutorial videos like these just to reflect and kinda realize how much u can learn on ur own when playing with equally or better players
I'm late, but you should've mentioned yesber's yprac maps and their prefire mode for all the maps. It really helps you learn peeking and common spots
Thanks for that short tips videos, you are making good work. You're showing things that I wasn't paying attention to. It's helping me to improve.
What I realized from this is that since your velocity picks up speed over time, if you peek an angle after a second of running sideways rather than for half a second, you will run out faster and be harder to hit.
Yes but that will generate footsteps before you peek and that will alert the enemy to be ready for a wide peek. Downsides to everything
Yea and they can have perfect crosshairplacement because you run for longer
footsteps dont really matter when you're playing in lower ranks
@@hachikiina they do, you must be playing in a very very bad region if they don't to you.
@@NCGamer20 you should've been in my last game...
Hmm, so my muscles have more memory than my brain has
What an amazing video! Clear, concise, and very helpful! Good job!
Thank you maxim. I think this is why CS one of the best fps game with unique game mechanics, i don't think there's other fps game with the same gameplay.
and then there's a bot camping in the middle of the map with no cover :'D
And you then get killed by a deagle one tap
So far the best video out there explaining csgo mechanics
Maxim, im so happy you helped me with this thank you so much, this helped me a HEEEEL LOT.
By the way, love your vids :D
Maxim , tips are as always awesome . Thanks for the ingame mechanics .
I love how I was reccomended this when I was gold nova master. I got up to MGE and then moved onto faceit, currently just hit levle 8 faceit. Efficient peeking has made me a great impact player for entry kills, and is certainly something everybody has to master in cs.
Any workshop maps, routines, stuff you did? I guess I picked up some bad habits while peeking over the hours or am just not good enough so I'd rather start from 0 and train good muscle memory
@@abhi43240 i feel like i cant counter strafe efficiently someho
I love ur intro. Its sounds so good :D
Even after 3 years, this video is super helpful, I never heard about decreasing velocity when peeking, even though it's so beneficial, thank you very much
3:00 what a common mistake to not checking boiler while going short....(even by advance players)
USUALLY you have a teammate in apps at that time when you are making that kind of play in short. (Usually performed by advanced players) but for example 1v3 you should check that
@PERMISSIONZ Well solo that might very well be xd
@PERMISSIONZ how do u save ur head from the apps t player though?
In a tight situation, I usually check that position. But if my team already have boiler and apps control, why bother?
Last time i heard someone saying "advanced player" was when my grandma was alive
4:18 you could have mentioned that if you crouch and walk at the same time it won't have any effect on your precision, your first bullet is exactly as accurat as if you wouldn't move :)
IIRC they've patched this awhile back. Now you loose some accuracy while crouch walking, not much tho.
okey thanks i didn't recognize that :D
Not exactly accurate actually, just very close.
This helped me a lot, thanks! Liked and subbed!
Yayy first tutorial by maxim where i already know everything
Great video, straight to the point, no unnecessary 10 min bs
Needed this exact video
This video is actually super helpful! Thanks!
1700h in CSGO and still learnt something, great video
Love your yellow gear :)
Thanks for the decrease movement tutorial when peekinv xD :)
Its called counter strafing
Thanks! I always find at least one thing what I can improve on.
that velocity control helped me alot thx
That thing you explained in the begging is crosshair placement, which is just ajusting the crosshair closer to the enemy's head
The video was very informative. I was SEM and now i am GN 1 :')
Much needed tutorial imo
clean and to the point. GG
Your videos has helped me a lot as a gamer bruh thanks
straight to the point i love it
So much knowledge! Thank you!
a 5 min video is better than most 20 min videos teaching you how to play the game.. thank you 🍌
this is best tutorial ever to understand the process
tbh Seeing the speed on the screen was helpful to visualize whats happening. Wish i'd seen this when I was starting out!

Thank you man nice tutorial
Great video, Thank you!
Is there any workshop maps which can help us improve our aim duels?
this was useful for me thank you
thanks for the tips dude
Great vid
Nice vid bro, thx mate
I had been able to understand this vidio by your really nice inglish, thanks
Great video as always, didn't know if you push with W+D or A you have to S+A or D to drop velocity, no wonder I win 20% of duels there. As a lvl 10 faceit, got some new great information, thank you Max!
wtf how faceit lvl 10 didn't know these :D
@@yourfuturewife- As I mentioned, I didn't know about the velocity change on S+A or D I am always crouching and shooting, works fine, but this explains much more!
@@SerexOfficial ok, btw how many hours in csgo
Why erveryone thinks that 2000+ elo in faceit means basically god? Thats not true.

So informative
Fantastic! 😍😎
What a good content bro, from malaysia
Thank you for the the top and I have a question for you I practice a lot of yprac maps so is it useful or not
I'm global and still watched it all even though I know it all. Lol I'll take it as a reminder for me cuz there's always room for improvement!
Play faceit bro
Faceit is lot harder cuz mm is a bot show where there is almost no coordination but in faceit players try hard they ask for flashes.
@@Akash_Banerjee You've not even made it to Dmg-le have you? 😂

Waiting for this vid for over 6 months
thanks mr maxim!
Tnx For The Tip!
Very nice video
I was hoping that you go a bit more into detail on when to shift, crouch wide peek. There are certain moment where these can mess with the crosshair placement of the enemy and be very surprising.
Yprac maps from the workshop are very good for cross hair placement and movement.
thanks to the lesson Mr.Banana.. now i get red low prio when i play with my friend :) they call me wallhacker
Thank you, mr. banana man!
also, what do you think of aiming at the body level when holding a close angle for jiggle peaking and crouch awpers and letting the recoil carry the spray to headlevel vs aiming head level and expecting a wide peak?
Its works but at a higher level ur gonna be at a disadvantage since they are probally gonna hs you first
After watching this video:
Well boys, we did it. Losing is no more.
Nice bro !
Very helpful.
thx alot for this m8
I using your crosshair with little bit bigger hole in middle and my aiming go better,no 60% but i have 30% better aiming.💪🏻
Nice combo
Ty bro
Nice vid! Only I couldn't see your corshair lol..
