    Congratulations; you'll get the top next time :D I enjoy the in-depth explanations, speaking on the thought process is great insight. Love ya man.
    Piri reis is great. I've tried 3 Spirit since it is good vs tenpai in theory. But in practice Tenpai always makes the lvl 10 disabling effects in the battle phase.
    Fenrir feels good rn. The simplified "Nobody could play and we are just looking at each other with multiple handtraps" game state happens too often this format.
    Bricking is the no.1 issue with Yubel decks in general imo. Playing less bad draws is the way.
    Best of luck, keep it up and have a good one!

      - 4k LP makes it extremely easy to get OTKed
      - Makes the deck lose even harder to Droll, especially after siding.
      - Has to be the very first move and you have to commit the normal summon on the search, so you can't get extenders like Squirmer down the line if you already opened one of your 6 Beckoning or 3 Lotus
      - Yubel matches can easily go to time, so you can't reliably play this on game 3 due to the LP difference
      Prosperity even for 3 has the potential to fix your hand (although not guaranteed), but its ability to be used later in the turn as well as grabbing any engine or even non-engine makes it vastly superior.

    • @solemnyugioh

      @@babrad
      - If they OTK on 4000, they were OTKing on 8000. Either you build a board or you lose. That's current YuGiOh an overwhelming majority of the time.
      - Droll was not very played in this format. All eyes on pure snake eye / tenpai. You can also still make a board if you got samsara+squirmer
      - You'll actually have squirmer far more often thanks to map, because now your throne isn't as reliant on getting your beckoning/samsara
      - Yubel matches going to time? Play faster I guess lol, I never went to time all day and the regional before this, I also never went to time. If you play this like a combo deck rather than a skill drain flood deck, your games go fast. Fiendsmith might change this, but current version hell nah
      - Prosperity is cool too, yes, but if you fully utilize your extra deck, you can barely ever prosp for 6... and it plays into droll just as much as piri does.

    Loving to see the triple reis map , i eventually cut mines to 1 for stuff like for main deck called by the grave and nightmare pain, i also don't mind main deck belle because you can still belle snake eyes with they go wanted in draw phase and for times they cant chain block you with flamberge and poplar. Overall good list and congrats on making top 32 , i think Yubel at this point is just player preference with most deck choices , like i also love the train package for simple game state wins and winning in time.

I will try some of your suggestions for sure (still on the fence about cutting terror incarnate tho, I’ve tried without it and did not like how you had more choke points during combos). One thing I’ll ask you is why don’t you play knightmare griffin. It’s a very good line into nib, tenpai and snake eye if you get interrupted. I think it comes up more often than hita after trying both of them, and I like amblowhale too for the princess line.

    I like the Pris map. I hadn’t considered it and it seems insane as a starter card. I’ve been playing Nightmare Gryphon over the Abomination because I just make that against Tenpai and they need to draw the out or they lose it always feels like, plus if they destroy something, Yama can always just bring it back. Would love to see a combo video or even just some test hand play through with your list. Had never considered not playing the lvl 11 Yubel even when I brick on that horrible draw. My only other thing is that I really like Nightmare Pain, I could see myself cutting it to 2, but even in a simplified game state, it always felt like my opponent would focus on that card, and try to remove that before anything else, and it always seems to make them play super awkwardly even if I don’t even have Yubel on field lol. Good video and I hope to see more Yubel content!

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад

      - I love Gryphon vs tenpai but my big issue with it has been that tenpai tends to hand trap so much, we struggle reaching it... The amount of non engine they throw at us, endlessly simplifies our board until we just don't reach gryphon, so I gave up making it. You are right that it's the best end board piece vs tenpai if we actually get to it though
      - Not playing the 11 has been great , it's been out of my list for a long time now and I haven't missed it
      - I understand people play awful into nightmare pain sometimes, but I just don't feel it's correct to over-index on a card that mostly pays off when our opponents fumble... and 99% of the time, pain will be on my board anyway cuz our combo just looks for it. It's really not the end of the world.

      You make rage out of yama + a random body (like beckoning beast), you activate squirmer in gy (cuz you made yama out of yubel + squirmer) to summon spirit. Sharvara pop spirit, yama cl1 spirit cl2 to summon both spirit + Yubel. You use gates to revive the beckoning beast, you turn sharvara + beckoning beast into knightmare phoenix. The spirit and yubel go into varu. The knightmare phoenix and the rage go into apo.

    "Ceiling Increase" is a new way I've heard of "Win More" cards. I do agree you reduced the bricks heavily, might be one of/best list for minimal bricking. I keep going back and forth between 2-3 Spirits, and I might go back to trying 2. I've found I do enjoy/need the 3rd copy in some games, but I think I might try 2 again.
    But, I think you've cut a lot of power and grind game from the deck and I'm not sure I agree that's the direction the deck should go, at least until we get Fiendsmith. Once we get those, I agree completely aside from maybe Terror thanks to Phantom. But-but, I can't disagree with much of anything in this list (Fenrir, Pain, and kind of Terror at most) and understand everywhere you're coming from. I think you and Trinity probably have made the best Yubel lists, and they're very different which is really cool. I do have a bias towards Trinity's lists since it's almost identical to the list I made on my own accord, with the only differences being fun cards (or cards I can't afford/don't wanna spend money on. Who needs ninja waifus when you have a yellow unicorn). I do like having some grind game, which is mainly what the 2nd Pain is for. I do think you're underestimating Pain's damage, I agree it's not the primary win con the deck should be aiming for. But it can do a lot with and without Gustav.
    I'll also just say, I'm glad Accesscode got reprinted for cheap, Liebe was my budget alternative at first and by god is Accesscode so much better.

    Honestly I've been testing a lot with yubel lately and I've also decided that running multiple copies of nightmare pain just feels soooooo bad... dropping it down to 2 and making space for piri reis map feels a lot better, but I'm still pretty adamant on keeping terror incarnate. A lot of my combo lines with throne or spirit gates involve terror incarnate and since I have 13 ways to get to throne/spirit gates that's pretty good odds for me. Also now that phantom is out terror incarnate becomes less of a brick, and you can use piri reis map to search terror incarnate since you never use its effects anyways to make a phantom with material in your hand if you already have combo available.

    Very interesting list. I’ve been playing tubes for about a month now. Have cut spirit to 2 and pain to 2 and has felt good but maybe pain to 1 is the play. Cutting terror is really interesting because like you said it really only ups the ceiling of the combo with throne and nothing else. I’m really interested to see combos… is samsara just end of apollousa with rage in gy? Then beconing plus samsara should be hiita, varudras and princess and rage in gy correct? I really might consider cutting terror it makes a lot of sense. However when phantom comes out I think you need it to use as material for phantom as part of the combo. The maps are an interesting tech. I haven’t really felt like I’ve been bricking all that much. One for one I think is just bad. Going second you shouldn’t have any hand traps left to use and it’s just a minus one so idk I cut it and haven’t missed it. I’ve been switching back and forth between Ferris and cross out both have felt okay. Cross out in theory for this deck is great because the idea is if I can push my combo through I win. I also want to add a second Yama that seems to come up alot. The abom is a nice option haven’t seen that in many lists. I still play gryphon I mean mainly for tenpai but also ftks branded, and also can make other link decks have to play super awkwardly. Access code has been amazing tho. Nothing better that anguish link their guy into access code. I do also really like the breaker approach in the side. Great video brother keep it up and would love more Huber content I really like your perspective on the game.

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад

      - 2 pain can be fine if you expect 0 droll so you can cut mature altogether.. I just saw too much droll still in sides/mains to feel secure without mature
      - samsara is just apo+rage in gy, yes. Beckoning+samsara can be a lot of different things
      - piri has felt crucial.. it's that or pot. without piri, it's not that the deck bricks THAT much but it's more-so that you're scooping to hand traps way more
      - it's true that when phantom comes out, terror makes certain combos way better, but I'm not convinced yet that it'll be required.. I'll obviously test it before making a final choice
      - I agree one for one can be odd going second, I always side it out going second, but I really like the gas it provides going first
      - my problem with crossout is that it's shit going second and it requires you to play bad hand traps in virtually every matchup... Being forced to play nib, ogre, droll, belle... feels really bad, cuz every single hand trap can technically hurt us
      - I liked gryphon vs tenpai in theory, but then as I played the matchup more, I noticed they tended to hand trap us so hard we almost never got to the gryphon
      Thank you!

      @@solemnyugioh there actually isnt much droll where I play i think everyone just cut it completely because its shit vs fire and tenpai. Isnt map just more copies of beckoning, throne, samsara? So in theory how does that really help you play through hand traps? Does even having both beckoning and samsara play through and imperm if you dont have spirit gates? Side note anoyone not play 3 gates is crazy thats like the best card in the deck. But yeah 1 imperm on your normal summon without gates or grave squirmer is just a pass. Good profile and congrats on the top!!
    but i have a few things to say :
    I hear people often say that the princess is a win more card - i disagree. The princess has multiple uses and can help you because its generic to put up good interruptions while your yubel engine has been stopped or you didnt draw any from the beginning. Its not only useable if you achieve full combo. 1 Dark beckoning beast can push princess out while you dont lose anything. you still have rage and everything else.
    also its about resilience against a lot of boardbreaker. Dark ruler/Droplet and all sort of cards like that are good against the deck. it doesnt matter how strong your endboard is or if its a Peusdo-FTK - if one or two blowout cards can potentially kill the deck. thats the reason why decks like mannadium have a hard time to show dominance!
    the princess really helps in my opinion and in my topping decklist i used - it performed well!
    I can understand your arguments for terror incarnate but not only is it a valid card in the combo - also in the grindgame/simplified gamestate where you and your opponent both handtrapped each other to death - having the ability from a singular yubel to be able to float into the next one really can put the opponent in a difficult position. (Example situation, there are also a few other cases of course) Its not a card to be only evaluated in the full combo imo.
    but one of the better arguments for terror is : Tenpai.
    They often use cards like moonlight dragon (Bounce) or the Timelord that banishes all the monsters. Nightmare throne is a game changer in that situations - only if you have terror tho.
    other than that i like that you put a lot of thought into the deck and tried to fit in your own style of play - im always a fan of that!

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад +1

      Hi there!
      - Yeah, I'm also a fan of princess. The fact that beckoning becomes a real board because of her, is really nice. I used her a lot during the tourney. That said, once phantom/fiendsmith drops, she's still an obvious cut. But she did her job until that point hha.
      - I'm well aware there's more to terror than just the combo, but those fringe situations were not enough for me to want to play it. I feel Yubel already needs to play a fair few bricky cards (yubel, spirit, pain, etc..) that I really wanted to trim the fat, even if it meant making the deck weaker in odd situations. My hands are super cracked 24/7 because there's not nearly as many mid draws. That being said, once phantom drops, having that extra yubel name does become more intruiging. I'll definitely need to test that.
      Keep up the great content !

    Congrats on the top. Interesting. I would honestly never play the deck like this because to me you’d be clogged up with redundant hands and really have to hope your non engine gets you there. I think the “Timmy” style of the deck is just much more resilient versatile in its lines. Opening at 3 is insane because there are times the 2nd one does literally nothing since you can’t activate it because of the mandatory add. I’ll probably move to something closer to this when fiendsmith comes out but for now I’ll take the billions of two card combos the deck provides that help it play through handtraps

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад +2

      You’re not clogged with redundant hands. The extra good 1 card starters just play through ht way better. Pain is not doing anything when beck/samsara gets stopped unless you draw exactly pain+spirit. Veiler or imperm will pass your turn way more often when you run limited gates and every good deck runs 6... This means most of your games, beckoning will be impermed. You need punishes for that. It’s also the best follow-up in the deck and plays through boards way better. Also remember any time piri gets you beck or samsara, throne can now get squirmer to play through 1 more ht. You also need this non engine (if not more) or you stand no chance against snake eye. Yubel engine cards will never break properly piloted fire boards.

      That way you cant do the regular Yama play or Closed Sky because even with Almiraj (a non fiend so Yama isn't happening) you still miss a body for Closed Sky. Additionally it's a lvl1 so you can use a free Phantom (lvl9) to go into a quick Chaos Angel going second.

      In the most common varudras lines, there comes a point where your board is: rage, sharvara and 2 level 10s.
      You need to link off the rage and sharvara into a fiend because you're fiend locked to break the lock before making varudras. Every single fiend monster that does anything is dark, opening up your board to getting super poly'd to sleep, whilst also not providing any additional interruptions. Meanwhile linking off rage + sharvara into pricess here, leads to an end board of hiita/duelittle+amblo+varudras (with rage in gy+chamber set) meaning the board is not super poly'able (not that the card is good right now) AND having an interrupt that doesn't lose to breakers (princess)

I like how this deck is more consistent then the yubel deck that people are playing right now. I do wonder if the lvl 11 yubel will be required when we get the new fusion but that's for future testing. We aren't even sure we are getting it anyway unless its been confirm and I wasn't aware. kinda wish there's a better way to deal with stun. Maybe when we get fiendsmith there will be.

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад

      Super poly is just not good this format. The melodious board floats back, the voiceless voice floats back and the snake eye board does not give a damn either.
      Super poly can be crazy in certain formats, but this format is not one of them. Also no player with half a brain will let a yubel monster hit the board, so loving defender is off the table. We are not breaking snake eye boards with breakers unless the snake eye player sucks, which means hand traps is the way.

  • @AverageInternetCitizen
    @AverageInternetCitizen Месяц назад +4

    Nightmare Pain bad card is quite possibly one of the worst takes I've ever heard, though I do agree that when fiendsmith hits people will probably only play one. Dealing double damage and forcing your opponent to either remove the spell or play around it has insane value, and its just got a broken ass once per turn. There is also a point to playing two as it makes it hard/near impossible to remove both from the board. Also, if you still don't play terror after Phantom you are simply wrong because it stops being a brick card.

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад

      The best deck in the format plays knightmare phoenix and has endless link bodies... Removing a nightmare pain is easy as hell when we got hand trapped to sleep. And if our full board is there, they're not breaking it anyway, so realistically, nightmare pain is never doing anything in that matchup. We either have a board and autowin or we don't have a board and auto-lose. There is no real in-between in this format.
      As for terror: Going -2 from hand just to make phantom sounds awful. That is not why terror may become required once phantom drops. The real reason terror may become really important when phantom drops, is that terror may be the required yubel name to shuffle back when you still need your spirit and yubel to be revived for varudras. But that will require more testing.

    Just summon Gustav then play Liebe over it? Thats 8k

    • @solemnyugioh
      @solemnyugioh  Месяц назад +2

      That would require me to play 2 really mehh cards that only work when my opponent leaves an actual empty board? Like obviously when my opponent bricks on blue eyes, I can OTK (assuming I play the mehh trains).
      And if my opponent puts up a 3000atk blue eyes, I can OTK (cuz it's yubel), but I need a way to OTK that involves the "in between" game states. Where I interrupted so much the end board is 1 diabellstar or there's a half board I clear as I play and then I can OTK but there's no clean 3000 atk monsters left... Obviously there's random mehh cards you can slam into your extra for the specific situations. My issue is that there seemingly aren't clean lines that apply to a majority of board states (like snake eye has with the zealantis line). The best line is the anguish-accesscode line with varudras. But it's still not a perfect solution given it doesnt work when you went through varu

      I lost to purrely spright because that deck just plays through virtually anything going first game 1 (except sometimes droll or sometimes nib.. but in this match in particular, he had plump-noir before nib, so it wouldn't have mattered) , then game 2 I beat them because that deck can barely fit non engine , and then game 3 they once again did their soft FTK.
