Excellent vid....thanku very much...watched this vid thinkin about purchasing... But hav changed my mind....i expect way better quality and service for the uk total cost.. Hope u both had a good trek.😊😊
You are the second PCT hiker to comment on the tiny holes. The other hiker thought it might be from pack storage outside of the tent bag. I am hiking the PCT in 2024 and was about to throw 700 dollars to Zpack and now strongly considering a Big Agnes tent.
I only rolled mine and used the bag it came with. I then placed it in a dry bag for good measure so it didn’t snag on anything whilst on the outside of my bag. I never sat on it or hung it to dry on anything sharp. A shame, because otherwise a very good tent. Good luck with your prep, you’ll not regret your decision!
I'd rather have what 8 lanshan pros , shocking responses from them to your concerns really especially for a tent at that price point. They've just lost me so glad I didn't pull the trigger on it so thankyou guys 😊
There’s lots of positives but I want it to last longer than the halfway point on a through hike. I won’t get another. Keen to try out something new so thanks for the recommendation. Merry Christmas, all the best.
DCF doesn't cross-mesh the dyneema until 0.8oz. Zpacks offers 0.8oz Duplex and DupleXL, not sure about Triplex. Imho, default fly-weight should by 0.8oz for all dcf-tents and lighter weight fabrics only as a buyer-beware fragile option. 0.56oz is simply not sturdy enough (for a 6-month through-hike).
Thanks! We didn’t know that, ours was the midrange weight option at the time. They’ve since changed the range. In hindsight we would of got the heavier option. Thanks for watching!
Ridiculous price. I use an NX Hubba Hubba NX2 and a Rab siltarp 2 or 3 (I have both). Keeps me warm in snow and ice and light to pack. The Black Diamond carbon fiber FLZ are good poles -- I use those. Awesome series on the PCT, but too bad you guys didn't make it into BC -- that's the best part (I'm biased). I'm heading up to Tuya Mountains Parks in March for an adventure. Feel free to come along!
Thanks Dave! I’m inclined to agree. Working on some more PCT content now I’m reunited with my laptop. I think we’ll be somewhere in Columbia in March but thank you for the invite.
Good, honest review.

Glad it helped, happy to see there’s more ultra lightweight gear options for the UK than there was when I bought that one.
