@EEZAL Hi there - you are quite right, Twitch will work with Ableton Live/Suite as well as Serato ITCH & Traktor. Novation have created the LiveTwitchTranslator which you can download from the Twitch pages of the Novation website.
continued from last post... 2) The illuminated buttons are impossible to read in sunlight which makes extremely difficult to operate and see what's engaged/disengaged on it at many outdoor gigs. 3) The saved loops can't be turned on without automatically jumping to them like a cue point. 4) the touchstrips automatically revert to swipe mode from nudge regardless of where the user leaves them set.
People check out the new Itch 2.1 beta, it addresses son many of the issues you guys mention and also , you can control spa samples from the Twitch! simply amazing!
Twitch is DOPE!Awesome controller and the touchstrips are a game-changer!!Perfect for beatmatching & pitchbending a controller that i would recomend to anyone for use with Itch, Traktor and Ableton Live!!The only con is that the soundcard could have a little more juice but the sound quality is amazing!
@emoboi86 It's the track on deck B, the dreamy-sounding swells are a part of that song before the drum track kicks in while he juggles cue points on deck A. Hope this helps :)
Wanted to let you know that I've just released a mapper that will also allow Twitch to work with Virtual DJ right out of the box, it's available now on the Virtual DJ web site. (I use VDJ since I perform with video as well as audio).
@NovationTV: I don't know where you poll users, but unfortunately I can report that I have not found a single situation where Twitch can be used WITHOUT a signal boosting device. Every single gig the sound engineers have always asked me for "more output" because the outboard mixer's line input gains are maxed out. Thanks for the workarounds, but on your future units PLEASE just have a power plug so we don't have to buy, carry, and integrate extra gear just to get output to match CDJs.
Come on people, the twitch is a great great controller, and this routine is anything but easy. If you say its just pressing buttons then you haven't used dj controllers at all EVER. And the controller is made for Itch but comes with overlay for Traktor and can be mapped for Ableton.
@NovationTV: Regarding #4) I realize there are two different swipe modes, but the problem is that it doesn't stay in whatever mode the user last left it in rather it automatically reverts back to scrub. Again, this has been highly documented on the Serato forum with complaints from many users. I do understand that there is supposedly a fix coming for this in future software update. We hope so. Any word on problems #1 and #2?
@MrJonex225 are you asking if this is capable of integrating with ableton live 8 suite ? Well being a midi controller im pretty sure there will be templates for live 8 =)
@NovationTV: You're not understanding the problems. Regarding #3) Turning on a loop should NOT jump to the loop like a hot cue rather it should just turn on so that when the playhead reaches it the loop is already engaged. The pre-saved loops activation should behave just liek it does in Serato Scratch Live - especially since many SSL users are/will be using Itch. Consistency is key here. Check the Serato forum and you see LOTS of Twicth users complaining about this odd/unintuitive behavior.
i agree with yo totally for the scratching part, which is why even the most simple backspins sound god awful on the twitch, but for pitch bending the touchstrips are great IMO, and ive never used sync ever in my life, dont even understand how it works on serato :L
@antimarxism it´s actually pretty hard knowing that just by watching the video, sir. Please explain to me how you found out what software he´s using... Thx.
I've been DJaying since the 1 an 2s and I fucking love the Itch.. Listen to your self. You said "nice blend" to make a "nice blend" you need to be a "real DJ"..
Twitch is a great unit, except for these otherwise very glaring problems: 1) The master output (and headphone output too) is WAY too low so it can't match the output of other common bits of gear such as CDJs, turntables, other controllers, etc. without the use of a outboard signal boosting device, which defeats the entire purpose of a so-called "all-in-one" compact, portable controller solution. Continued on next post due to silly character limits here.
put my hercules to the side and just scored me a twitch..checking out whats posssible...mean machine alright...im a button pusher now..here in kiwi land..
Better off going for an S2 or an S4. If I had the money I would own this an an S4 but the touch strips just aren't on par for pitchbending and beat matching. Bit of ashame really because this is an amazing controller otherwise. But if your the type of DJ that just presses the autosync button and walks away I guess you should have no qualms.
im not knocking the skills im knocking the controller its pushing buttons using itch is one thing but this isn't a real dj controller its 2 drum machines with a cross fade u lose out on allot when u dont use decks i mean u lose out when u use itch bt the fact of the matter is compared to what i known to be a dj controller this went completely left field bt dont let my opinion mess up yo day different strokes for different folks
A new version of this controller would be a dream!
I love each new video Serato puts out, for the reason of admiring how easy these guys make it all look .
Seria um sonho uma nova versão dessa controladora!
@philip390 The red markers are 'slices' which are used in slicer mode (live remixing of an 8-part phrase)

Wow that was SICK!
i was the same man, but i just bit the bullet and got one about 6 months ago and now im gigging like every weekend!

There's a scroll knob for scrolling through songs and a load deck button you simply press to load in a song.
Very nice demo!!! I want one! straight up sickness! Loving it!! I will also have to pickup one of those jet black wooden pallet coffee tables :)
Mine comes this week, I'm pretty excited.
OMFG.... that's soo sick I'm soo getting one... BTW the launchpad was great...
THIS IS JUST SICK!!!!
@Redwavepr1
looks bit like two X1 (native instrument) controllers connected together, if the price is right then it'll be a competitor

@neosugar1 The Twitch is USB bus powered
@Funkskillz I like this. I guess it can be done with hot-queues but it's not really the same..
@WeBeatz it looks almost exactly like the traktor udg bag but with novation logos dont you think?
just bopping my head man
I would like to see how he step up the clips
I would very much like to see @NovationTV make a video like this demonstrating the Twitch being used in Live (if they aint done that already...)
Wanted to let you know that I've just released a mapper that will also allow Twitch to work with Virtual DJ right out of the box, it's available now on the Virtual DJ web site. (I use VDJ since I perform with video as well as audio).
Please record the C.R.E.A.M. Mash up. Its amazing!

what's the instrumental 1:53?
@emoboi86 it comes from the deck playing the beat? all of the vocals are from an accapella track.

Novation PLEASE release a "Pro" version of this unit that addresses the issues listed below.
Hello! I have a Novation Twitch and would like if possible to get the kit these samplers or the list of songs used in this demonstration, Thanks.

0:41 top right the time is 14:02 and at 1:58 the time is 12:15, so basically this thing is a time machine as well, wicked!
This controller looks like the Traktor S5 but just without display and only 2 line faders. But as low budget... it shows interesting
When/where can the bag be bought?
Thats what I want to know as well
k presio tiene esa madre esta jenial

Olá Novation? Por favor, já tá mais que na hora de lança uma nova Novation twitch!?

A controller is two decks and a mixer, which the twitch has. How is it not a real controller?
@antimarxism it´s actually pretty hard knowing that just by watching the video, sir. Please explain to me how you found out what software he´s using... Thx.
Are those red markers around 1.15-1.20 hot-queue-points?
badass
@EvanWhomp Exactly what I was thinking.
@antimarxism okay, im sorry, so Serato Itch is another software like Ableton live? Thx.
@MrJonex225 looks like serato itch

why it doesnt have gain knob, its the only thing that kept me away from buying it.

I hate how they dont mention that this is dj blakey
dude! stop pressing buttons, i'm trying to listen to beautifull music!
seen better on turntables

nice blend bt to many buttons to be a real dj
you talk as if going leftfield is necessarily bad. As if only mainstream or established can ever be good.... i for one am so glad you are wrong
Exaggerated hand movements..
What remix of Hide U is he using in this video? Or is he just cutting the acapella up over something else?
