Fun puzzle. Simple enough to be able to figure out for the players, and not too bad for a bunch of cultists to figure out without having to give them a single password.
I might change it up so the door isn't obvious and/or magical. That when given the pie, maybe there is a key, or magic stone on the bottom that triggers a door to switch which location it is connected to. That way the cultists leave out a back door anyone can leave through, but it triggers it to the downstairs location with no other entry (so they have to get a key/trigger).

Thank you, my friend. Glad you liked the idea! And, I dig the thought of the key on the bottom that triggers the door. A great way to enhance security, for sure. Cheers!

Savory or Sweet? I gotta go with Pecan Pie and several scoops of cool whip.

not bad at all, would like to hear some suggested hints tho. a puzzle is only as good as its hints. maybe some of the non cultist customers remark on the patterns of (secret) cultists peculiar orders. Maybe a really observant PC might notice that one of the customers has to count on their fingers before ordering the "password" pie. Perhaps a local street urchin might know something, and would be willing to speak for a price but only if they are less afraid of the repercussions than they are willing to help via bribes or coercion.
Also this would work perfectly for Planescape, the evil bakers could have this as the entrance to one of their lairs

Some really great suggestions here. Thank you for adding them. The "counting on fingers" is very easy to visualize, definitely a hint I would use. Cheers!

Love it. This could be fun for many different secret groups. If you went in Faerun, the Harper's could be running a shop as a front. Cultists can be crafty but I think I'd use this for other entities

I love the idea of using it for the Harpers or other factions. I may use this myself in a Waterdeep game. Great idea!
