I like how you were honest saying you can't get into a bunch of these games bc I have the same problem. Like zelda btw took me like 4 years to actually be able to get past the first hour. I absolutely loved it in the end but sometimes it takes me along time to accept the world they want you to live in for a while. I hope they come out with persona 4 golden on switch. I did the same thing for that one. Now I'm a huge fan haha.
