Great ranking. What I love about these videos is that it gives me some direction on the albums I’m not familiar with. There’s about 4-5 albums in the middle of the discography I need to listen to!
1. Rust in Peace (1990) 2. Peace Sells (1986) 3. Countdown to Extinction (1992) 4. Youthanasia (1994) 5. The System Has Failed (2004) 6. So Far So Good So What (1988) 7. Dystopia (2016) 8. The Sick, The Dying & The Dead (2022) 9. Endgame (2009) 10. Killing Is My Business...(1985) 11. Cryptic Writings (1997) 12. Th1rt3en (2011) 13. United Abominations (2007) 14. The World Needs A Hero (2001) 15. Risk (1999) 16. Super Collider (2013)
I’d bring Cryptic Writings up, anything with Mustaine/Ellefson/Friedman/Menza is gold to me! It’s kind of interesting that the best two are also the two coolest covers from Ed Repka!
Megadeth..... Titan Of metal in the 80’s and early 90’s. 1) Rust in Peace 2) Killing Is My Business 3) Peace Sells 4) So Far So Good So What 5) Countdown To Extinction.
On The System Has Failed, drummer Vinnie Colaiuta brought a level of sophistication not often found on the typical thrash album. Over the course of one weekend, he learned all of the songs and recorded perfect takes - this simply blew Mustaine's mind. Chris Poland returned to record on that album simply because Colaiuta was involved.
Here's my top 5: 1) Rust In Peace 2) Peace Sells 3) Countdown To Extinction 4) Endgame 5) Youthanasia For me, Rust In Peace is the greatest thrash album I've ever heard, front to back it's a masterpiece, Peace Sells isn't far behind.
Pete although I put Killing is my #1 for the primal thrash fury you talked about, i totally think your list is legit! I saw So Far So Good Megadeth open for Dio as a kid and man, i was blown away I will always will love the first 3-4 records well done!
Kick the Chair is among the best songs they ever did post 95. And the 2019 remaster actually makes it sound better, particularly the drums since that albums original master sounded crappy.
There’s really something to be said about some of the song structures on Rust. I mean look at Five Magics, it listens almost like a story. Doesn’t follow a tradition verse/chorus structure. So cool, so unique. They really captured lightning in a bottle on the record. Peace Sells and Rust trade 1 and 2 spots for me nearly everyday. Just insane records
Peace Sells does that too. The opening track Wake Up Dead has no repeating parts at all, every time there's a change in the song it's a new riff. From the beginning to the end. And it's still catchy as hell.
Great video, Pete. I love Megadeth. 1. Rust In Peace 2. Countdown To Extinction 3. Peace Sells...But Who’s Buying? 4. Youthanasia 5. So Far, So Good,...So What!
Always enjoy your channel, great stuff!! Really like the ranking you did on this one, thought it was slightly funny your wearing a Thin Lizzy shirt and didnt mention Megadeth covered Cold Sweat on 13.
Rust In Peace is my favorite Megadeth album. Top 5 would be: 1. Rust In Peace 2. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying? 3. So Far, So Good... So What! 4. Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good! 5. Countdown To Extinction
I know exactly what you are saying when picking the favorite. Peace Sells was my entry point and is still my favorite to this day. I remember seeing the ads for this album in Hit Parader magazine back in the day and the cover had me sold. I couldn't wait until it was released and it did not disappoint. Classic thrash.
Megadeth is my favorite band. 1. Rust in Peace 2. Countdown to Extinction 3. Peace Sells 4. Endgame 5. United Abominations 6. Dystopia 7. Killing Is My Business 8. So Far, So Good, So What 9. Youthanasia 10. Cryptic Writings 11. System Has Failed 12. World Needs a Hero 13. Thirteen 14. Super Collider 15. Risk
Very good comment on these albums. My ranking: 1. Rust in Peace - My favorite album, just amazing from the start to finish. 2. PSBWB - Very brutal and angry stuff. 3. Dystopia - I am probably a small minority but I enjoy it very much. The lyrics are well written especially. 4. KIMB - Probably the angriest album I've ever heard. Mustaine had just been kicked out from Metallica. 5. Countdown to Extinction - The first album I ever heard from them. I loved it instantly! 6. SFSGSW - It is not as polished as their two strongest albums but it works well. 7. Endgame - It is one of their heaviest albums and many songs are among their best songs of the 2000's. 8. United Abominations - "Sleepwalker" hit me so hard, I knew I am gonna love it from the first time. 9. The System Has Failed - Their comeback to heavy stuff. I remember buying it the week it was released. 10. Youthanasia - Many killer songs, a couple of those I don't enjoy much - "Black Curtains" sound disappointing. "Reckoning Day" is just a killer opener! 11. Cryptic Writings - A poppy album but I like the melodies. Actually the mellow songs are better on this album than the heavy ones. 12. Risk - Not a bad album. It doesn't sound Megadeth for most fans but there are many good songs. "Prince of Darkness", "Insomnia", "Breadline", "I'll Be There", even "Ecstasy" and "Crush 'Em". 13. Super Collider . I hate it when I first heard it. It sounds now better than then. many good songs. The vocals are perhaps the least good from Mustaine ever. 14. The World Needs a Hero - Many good songs but "Burning Bridges" and "Losing My Senses" are terrible. "Moto Psycho", "Promises", and "Disconnect" are still very good songs. 15. Thirteen - It has few very good songs (Sudden Death is the best) but some of the songs sound recycled ideas. The title song has depth in lyrics but musically it is mediocre.
Nice one! Here’s my ranking: These first six I absolutely love: 1. Rust In Peace (1990) 2. Countdown To Extinction (1992) 3. Youthanasia (1994) 4. Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? (1986) 5. So Far, So Good… So What! (1988) 6. Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! (1985) These next bunch are also solid albums, and I enjoy them all to varying degrees: 7. The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! (2022) - in my opinion, a massive return to form after a string of good, but very similar sounding albums released since Risk. 8. Cryptic Writings (1997) 9. The System Has Failed (2004) 10. Endgame (2009) 11. United Abominations (2007) 12. Dystopia (2016) 13. Thirteen (2011) 14. The World Needs A Hero (2001) 15. Super Collider (2013) This last one I can barely stand listening to. It took everything that was great about the more commercial sounding Cryptic Writings and threw it out the window. 16. Risk (1999)
My personal list: 1. Rust in Peace 2. Peace Sells...But Whose Buying? 3. Endgame 4. So Far, So Good, So What? 5. Countdown to Extinction 6. United Abominations 7. Dystopia 8. Youthanasia 9. Killing is My Business 10. Th1rt3en 11. The World Needs A Hero 12. Cryptic Writings 13. The System has Failed 14. Super Collider 15. Risk Megadeth for me is a band where though I've been listening to them for most of my life, what I view as their weaker albums are albums I practically never listen to. There are tracks that I enjoy, but as an album? They don't do a lot for me. Still, an important band for me and I freaked out a lot when I first bought and listened to Rust in Peace in my CD walkman. I hadn't actually heard any of that album before, only Megadeth song I had at home was "The World Needs A Hero."
Peace Sells is so important to me. It is my fav also. It brings back a lot of good teenage memories. I was fortunate to see them in 1990. It was the Rust In Peace tour. They opened for Judas Priest which was the Painkiller tour. Amazing show. To top it off I ended up catching one of Marty's guitar picks. I still have it. Thanx for the video Pete. It brought back a lot of great memories. Stay safe
I was never a real "Metal head" but I bought Countdown to Extinction when it came out after seeing them on a UK TV show ,either Raw Power or Noisy Mothers. Loved every track , still like to listen to it occasionally . Architecture For Aggression always blew me away when the lead guitar comes in. I bought all the ltd edition vinyl singles at the time, still got em. Later I bought Peace Sells ..but never enjoyed it at all.
Rust in Piece Peace Sells But Who’s Buying? So Far, So Good, So What? Youthanasia Countdown to Extinction (I go back and forth on the first two and last two)
Why do people put 'The System Has Failed' so far down on their lists? I get that it was originally supposed to be a Mustaine solo album, but the album is great none the less. Very underrated in my opinion.
@@keithschick9960 Rust In Peace is phenomenal but I respect musicians who experiment instead of rehashing the same material again and again. Bands like AC/DC, Slayer and Motorhead all did very well that way but it's cool when bands go out of their comfort zone and still make great songs.
I loved Cryptic Writings! And then when Risk followed, that was a big disappountment. I agree with that one coming in last. So hard to rank most of the early ones but fave is definitely Countdown To Extinction.
I remember seeing them at Lamors in BROOKLYN when they played peace sells but who is buying. Great show. Good morning black Friday. It doesn't get any better.
So, Pete, I know I’m a few years late to this video, and to most of Megadeth’s albums (except Countdown), but was inspired by your ranking videos and a couple friends and I followed your lead and started doing the same. We started with Boston and then Triumph and then Megadeth. Didn’t really listen to them, so surprised myself with how many songs I really liked. As a result, my ranking will probably be quite different from most, evidenced by my number one pick. Anyway, here goes: 16. United Abominations 15. The System Has Failed 14. Peace Sells (only because of three songs didnt care for) 13. Killing Is My Business 12. Youthanasia 11. Cryptic Writings 10. Super Collider 9. The World Needs A Hero 8. So Far So Good…So What! 7. Dystopia 6. Endgame 5. Countdown To Extinction 4. The Sick, The Dead…And The Dying! 3. Rust In Piece 2. Th13teen 1. Risk
I agree with everything except cryptic writings, I'd move it up to 10. My favorite is Peace Sells. I'll be 54 this year. When it came out I was in College, Northeastern university.
Being a melodic metal guy my favorite 4 are: 1. Youthanasia, 2. The System has Failed, 3. United Abominations, 4. Countdown to Extinction. Personally, this band has never failed.
jim g I do remember that as well, because Lars stated Dave felt comfortable in what he was doing at the time and that he should take a Risk, glad they never stuck with that shit
Letting Lars Ulrich take up space in his head for so long was a probably one of the most foolish things (from a career standpoint) Dave did. Ulrich was clearly a Machiavellian little tool from the word go. Living well, & doing well is the best revenge. Especially when the guys you thought were your friends, stab you in the back, & have written you off as fuck-up & a no-talent.
@@Omar_E11 Uh, no Omar. He didn't. Not personally. It's just that I'm not a big fan of people who tend to be 2 faced. Don't know if you ever read any part of Dave Mustaine's memoir. (It's a great read btw. Whether or not you're a fan, I recommend it highly). I do know from it, & other interviews in other publications, that for a good many years Lars dissed Dave's playing for a long time After he formed Megadeth. But in the late 90s it was, "I really respect Dave as a musician but...". Bear in mind this was around the time they'd already come out with Load. The first Metallica album I tried to like, & couldn't. Even though I'd been a fan of theirs since almost the beginning. & let's face it, the Napster incident of the last decade didn't exactly help.
@@robertbarker9579 What"s better? It's better than Master Of Puppets, better than Reign In Blood, so what's left? Yeah, it is the best thrash metal album of album of all time and one of the greatest metal albums of all time.
Mark Andersen It’s not better than Master of Puppets. If Dave didn’t sound like a constipated grandma when he sings, Rust in Peace could be in the conversation for the best album.
Amen! The 2004 remastes/remixes are horrendous, with perhaps the sole exception of SFSGSW, that one's decent to have alongside the original. Fortunately pre-2004 pressings aren't too hard or too expensive to get, though. Or at least they weren't when I updated my Megadeth collection for the older pressings. KIMB however is pricier if you want an old pressing with "These Boots" present _and_ uncensored. Shame the 2002 remaster has that godawful, unlistenable bleeped version of "Boots", and the 2018 version has an awkward reworked version with original lyrics to appease Lee Hazlewood's estate.
I agree... the exceptions ( for me) are SFSGSW and Killing is My Business. Killing NEEDED a makeover. I grew to appreciate SFSGSW without so much reverb/ delay effects.
Robert Leese there’s a good remaster of TWNAH and The System Has Failed out recently that’s not a remix but just a remaster and actually makes both albums sound better. The drums have more depth and the guitar has more bite. Listen to Kick the Chair 2019 remaster on RUclips and check it out or Dread and the Fugitive Mind 2019 remaster. Both sound better than the original and weren’t messed with by Mustaine but by a professional mastering engineer.
Ok, so I guess I'm part of the small minority that actually likes the Risk album. Is it classic thrash Megadeth? No, but that doesn't make it a bad metal/hard rock album in and of itself. I happen to really like Dave's vocals, and this is a strong album in that respect with loads of catchey hooks that I find myself singing along to. And if you listen to the last 2 or 3 albums leading up to this one you can hear the progession that led to Risk. I guess I like this one for the same reason I like Rush's Signals... because it was so different from anything they had done up to that point. Unfortunately (IMHO) Rush continued down that path, where as for Megadeth it was one and done... they got it out of their system and then moved on. If nothing else, I find Risk to me more memorable than the 6 or so albums since then that kinda all sound like the same formula and all run together in my mind. To each his own.
Not their most consistent album, but there's a bunch of quite good songs there, it just doesn't quite sound like a Megadeth album. It would have likely gotten a much better reception had it been released under another moniker.
Megadeth is one of my favorite bands of all time. They are easily on my top five favorite bands ever. Their most recent studio album Dystopia in my opinion is a MASTERPIECE. I could not believe how amazing it was and I have listened to it many, many times. My top 15 studio albums would have to be. 15. Super Collider 14. Risk 13. 13 12. The World Needs A Hero 11. Killing Is My Business, And Business Is Good 2. Rust In Peace 1. Peace Sells, But Who's Buying
Excellent list! I love that United Abomination and Youthanasia were shown the love they deserve, they're often pretty underrated. The top of my list would be something like this: 1) Rust in Peace 2) Peace Sells (but basically on par with Rust) 3) So Far So Good so What 4) Killing is my Business 5) Youthanasia 6) United Abominations 7) Countdown to Extinction 8) Endgame. I haven't listened to their other stuff enough to give them solid rankings, but I like bits and pieces from most, even a little bit off Risk isn't too bad.
I haven't listened to much after "The World Needs a Hero." I love the guy but Dave's politics got a little too right wing for me. I do think Cryptic Writings is an underrated album that I would on par with Countdown to Extinction and Youthanasia.
Peace sells is definitely no.1 but the sound quality on countdown is unmatched.. The first 5 seconds of skin of my teeth blowed me away.. Every song on this album besides countdown to extinction is mind blowing.. I truly think this is the best Megadeth ever sounded!!
Hey Pete, congratulations for the video. Just a detail: Freedman stayed til' Risk - It was Nick Menza who left the band after Cryptic Writings (he was replaced by Jimmy DeGrasso). Keep rocking man!
After 30 years Rust in Peace is still the benchmark for heavy metal guitar solos.
And metal riffs, and lyrics to name a few more things.

Killing is my Business is underrated .. it's their best from a vintage metal standpoint! The riffs are also extremely creative on that album.
thanks pete for raking my mind off rhings for a while, i never miss your videos. stay safe
Word!
Here's my top 5:
1) Rust In Peace
2) Peace Sells
3) Countdown To Extinction
4) Endgame
5) Youthanasia
For me, Rust In Peace is the greatest thrash album I've ever heard, front to back it's a masterpiece, Peace Sells isn't far behind.
You're kidding, Endgame over Killing is My Business?
My top 5:
1) Peace Sells...
2) Rust in Peace
3) Killing is my Business
4) Countdown to Extinction
5) So far, so good...
Pete although I put Killing is my #1 for the primal thrash fury you talked about, i totally think your list is legit! I saw So Far So Good Megadeth open for Dio as a kid and man, i was blown away I will always will love the first 3-4 records well done!
Hangar 18 is one of my top three. Stunning guitar's work
Kick the Chair is among the best songs they ever did post 95.
"I...master! Five...Magics!" 🎸 🔥 💀 ⛓
Peace Sells does that too. The opening track Wake Up Dead has no repeating parts at all, every time there's a change in the song it's a new riff. From the beginning to the end. And it's still catchy as hell.
Haven't given much of their post 94 albums a chance, might have to though
Can't wait for what's in store for the channel Pete
Great video, Pete. I love Megadeth.
1. Rust In Peace
2. Countdown To Extinction
3. Peace Sells...But Who’s Buying?
4. Youthanasia
Top 5 would be:
1. Rust In Peace
2. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?
3. So Far, So Good... So What!
4. Killing Is My Business... And Business Is Good!
5. Countdown To Extinction
Ditto
I know exactly what you are saying when picking the favorite. Peace Sells was my entry point and is still my favorite to this day. I remember seeing the ads for this album in Hit Parader magazine back in the day and the cover had me sold. I couldn't wait until it was released and it did not disappoint. Classic thrash.
Saw them before Peace Sells front row in a small club. It was brutal in a great way. Killing is my business will always be my #1.
You should Interview Jeff Young about his time in Megadeth!! Probably some cool stories.
in general I agree with you. I would rank Dystopia much higher. and Killing - but this is from the personal background.
Thank you for doing that
Symphony of destruction was my entrance theme for wrestling
Megadeth is my favorite band.
1. Rust in Peace
2. Countdown to Extinction
3. Peace Sells
4. Endgame
5. United Abominations
6. Dystopia
7. Killing Is My Business
8. So Far, So Good, So What
9. Youthanasia
10. Cryptic Writings
11. System Has Failed
12. World Needs a Hero
13. Thirteen
14. Super Collider
15. Risk
Ed Rock Youthanasia is was too low on the list
Very good comment on these albums. My ranking:
Good ranking video and they should be in the rock n roll hall of fame.
Absolutely, love Megadeth!!!
@@mikesclassicrock9745 me too and they kick ass 110%.
Absolutely agree !!!!
James moss please tell me your joking! They "should" be in the rock and roll hall of "shame"😠
@@metalassassin9537 no joke.
Nice one! Here’s my ranking:
These first six I absolutely love:
1. Rust In Peace (1990)
2. Countdown To Extinction (1992)
3. Youthanasia (1994)
4. Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying? (1986)
5. So Far, So Good… So What! (1988)
6. Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! (1985)
These next bunch are also solid albums, and I enjoy them all to varying degrees:
7. The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead! (2022) - in my opinion, a massive return to form after a string of good, but very similar sounding albums released since Risk.
8. Cryptic Writings (1997)
9. The System Has Failed (2004)
10. Endgame (2009)
11. United Abominations (2007)
12. Dystopia (2016)
13. Thirteen (2011)
14. The World Needs A Hero (2001)
15. Super Collider (2013)
This last one I can barely stand listening to. It took everything that was great about the more commercial sounding Cryptic Writings and threw it out the window.
16. Risk (1999)
My personal list:
1. Rust in Peace
2. Peace Sells...But Whose Buying?
3. Endgame
4. So Far, So Good, So What?
5. Countdown to Extinction
6. United Abominations
7. Dystopia
8. Youthanasia
9. Killing is My Business
10. Th1rt3en
11. The World Needs A Hero
12. Cryptic Writings
13. The System has Failed
14. Super Collider
15. Risk
Megadeth for me is a band where though I've been listening to them for most of my life, what I view as their weaker albums are albums I practically never listen to.
Great list brother. Only thing I might do different is bump the system has failed up a few spots. I really like a few tracks on there.
@@joeldukes303 Fair enough. It has some cool tracks but as a whole the album never did much for me.
@Douglas Fisher I've just never been big into their debut album.
@@JCStorm76 Fair enough if you enjoy CW that much :)
I need to explore more of these, I’m only familiar with a couple, thanks Pete!!
Glad to see ‘Endgame’ ranked that high. One of my favorite Deth albums. Definitely my favorite from the post-Marty Friedman eras.
Stay safe
Pete u should do a video of all your t shirts
he buys them just to make the videos, like the brand new Maiden shirt he wore in the video
Hell yes!!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘
He's got so many that it would have to be a mini-series.
danoh's toolbox lol, I agree
Right on..great idea..
First time I saw Megadeth was on the Peace Sells tour with Overkill -Taking Over !
This guy is really accurate on album ranking
Rust in Piece
Peace Sells But Who’s Buying?
So Far, So Good, So What?
Youthanasia
Countdown to Extinction
(I go back and forth on the first two and last two)
It is Rust in Peace
Saw Megadeth at a local Nashville,TN. club in January of 1986.
Why do people put 'The System Has Failed' so far down on their lists? I get that it was originally supposed to be a Mustaine solo album, but the album is great none the less. Very underrated in my opinion.
Because, RIP is fuckin phenomenal, and failed is the key word to describe that album.
I don't mean to be so pessimistic, but that stuff isn't Megadeth imo.
Agree...plus Chris Poland is on it
@@keithschick9960 Rust In Peace is phenomenal but I respect musicians who experiment instead of rehashing the same material again and again. Bands like AC/DC, Slayer and Motorhead all did very well that way but it's cool when bands go out of their comfort zone and still make great songs.
Awesome album and very powerful!
Awesome that you gave so far so good so what it’s deserved credit.
Pete you got me excited a couple weeks back saying there would be something from Armored Saint but haven't heard it yet....
Long live Dave Pritchard!!
Yes absolutely!!!
Please do Armored Saint, Pete 🙂
Patience people, patience...
Your getting me emotional with your top 2 lol good stuff bro.🤘🤘
I loved Cryptic Writings! And then when Risk followed, that was a big disappountment. I agree with that one coming in last. So hard to rank most of the early ones but fave is definitely Countdown To Extinction.
Yes,Peace Sells was my first megadeth album. Changed my life topping Metallica.
Anyway, here goes:
16. United Abominations
15. The System Has Failed
14. Peace Sells (only because of three songs didnt care for)
13. Killing Is My Business
12. Youthanasia
11. Cryptic Writings
10. Super Collider
9. The World Needs A Hero
8. So Far So Good…So What!
7. Dystopia
6. Endgame
5. Countdown To Extinction
4. The Sick, The Dead…And The Dying!
3. Rust In Piece
2. Th13teen
1. Risk
I agree with everything except cryptic writings, I'd move it up to 10.
My favorite is Peace Sells. I'll be 54 this year. When it came out I was in College, Northeastern university.
Great analysis - just earned a sub
Interesting ranking. I am one of the few people that personally enjoys Dystopia more than Endgame but either way, both great albums.
Dystopia is a very strong album
Agreed. For me, Dystopia is the best album they've done since Euthanasia.
I could listen to every song except the cover song
A little suprised you didn't mention Chris Poland's return for the recording of The System Has Failed lp!!
Endgame in my stero now. Rust in piece best album by far and one of the best ever in all of metal.
Peace Sells is one of my all time favorite albums from any band. Maybe because Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson were both born in my hometown.
Being a melodic metal guy my favorite 4 are: 1. Youthanasia, 2. The System has Failed, 3. United Abominations, 4. Countdown to Extinction. Personally, this band has never failed.
What about hidden treasures? I know it's an ep but where would you have ranked that
Nicely done Pete! My top 5 are:
1. Peace Sells
2. Rust in Peace
3. Countdown
4. Killing is My Businness
5. So Far So Good
God damn Pete, you have seen a lot of concerts ! Enjoyed the video.
BTW, Dave said in his autobio that the album title "Risk" came from a statement from Lars Ulrich that Dave should take a risk.
jim g I do remember that as well, because Lars stated Dave felt comfortable in what he was doing at the time and that he should take a Risk, glad they never stuck with that shit
@@salvadorjimenez2872 Did Lars hurt you?
Never listen to that fat pockets Lars & James.. you rules Dave.😎
Well done Pete. Great stuff. Peace Sells for sure......, and The Conjuring....., fave Megadeth of all time
#1 Rust in Peace
This has to be the best metal album ever.
Peak thrash metal... Every time they had the chance to end the song they went 100x harder! An absolutely essential album
Leif Siklossy Not even the best thrash metal album ever. Still solid, nonetheless.
@@robertbarker9579 What"s better? It's better than Master Of Puppets, better than Reign In Blood, so what's left? Yeah, it is the best thrash metal album of album of all time and one of the greatest metal albums of all time.
Mark Andersen agreed! It’s at the top of the pyramid!
Mark Andersen It’s not better than Master of Puppets. If Dave didn’t sound like a constipated grandma when he sings, Rust in Peace could be in the conversation for the best album.
I'm with ya Pete. Huge metal fan here the year Peace Sells came out. That moment in time was very special to me.
I wish Mustain didnt remaster/remix the albums. They really suck compared to the originals imo.
The recent re-issue of Killing.... is good.
Absolutely! For example, SFSGSW absolutely lost its (searching for the exact word...) grimy, dirty sound!?
I agree... the exceptions ( for me) are SFSGSW and Killing is My Business.
Hey Mr Pete! :)
I've been listening to you for several months now and love your channel. Have you done anything from Kreator?
I got into the band when this came out so it’s always had a soft spot for me
Not their most consistent album, but there's a bunch of quite good songs there, it just doesn't quite sound like a Megadeth album. It would have likely gotten a much better reception had it been released under another moniker.
The first four run of Killing, Peace, So Far and Rust will always be my favorites. That's when I was most into Megadeth.
So far, so good = underrated!
1988 classic!
15. Super Collider
14. Risk
13. 13
12. The World Needs A Hero
11. Endgame
10. Cryptic Writings
9. Youthanasia
8. The System Has Failed
7. United Abominations
6. Countdown To Extinction
5. So Far, So Good, So What
4. Dystopia
3. Killing Is My Business, And Business Is Good
2. Rust In Peace
1. Peace Sells, But Who's Buying
Chris Poland. Such an amazing player. My personal favorite Megadeth guitarist.
So, so Megadeth.
Great player but marty was the right one
Excellent list! I love that United Abomination and Youthanasia were shown the love they deserve, they're often pretty underrated.
The top of my list would be something like this:
1) Rust in Peace
2) Peace Sells (but basically on par with Rust)
3) So Far So Good so What
4) Killing is my Business
5) Youthanasia
6) United Abominations
7) Countdown to Extinction
8) Endgame.
17:40 One band that comes to mind is Deftones. Not one bad album.
Their newest one Ohms kicks ass
Hey Pete, congratulations for the video. Just a detail: Freedman stayed til' Risk - It was Nick Menza who left the band after Cryptic Writings (he was replaced by Jimmy DeGrasso). Keep rocking man!
Top 5 for me:
Rust In Peace
Peace Sells
Countdown to Extinction
Dystopia
Cryptic Writings
It's mind-boggling, how people put Dystopia above Endgame lol
@@j.j.4150 Endgame is probably 6 or 7 for me. I just prefer the songwriting on Dystopia, personally.
