Thank you for these helpful tips, Dr. Andalon. I'm currently seeing a PT for organ prolapse after supracervical hysterectomy (no bladder issues, but quite heavy in the pelvic region during bowel movement and/or long days on feet). The PT doctor that I'm seeing didn't do any exams but gave me instructions to do several exercises at home and at the therapy office. But I'm confused because all the exercises focus on tightening the surrounding areas of the pelvis (inner thighs, buttocks, abdomen). For example, I have to cross my legs while standing up and squeeze the inner thighs super tightly, stand on the balls of my feet and squeeze all the muscles surrounding the buttocks area (things like that). Are these truly helpful to alleviate and /or improve prolapse issues? I thought pelvic floor exercises required contracting the inner pelvic muscles for most part? This is a very long question - so sorry! Thank you!

A pelvic floor physical therapist should be doing an internal and external assessment to let you know which exercises are most effective for the pelvic floor and core. Thanks for watching the videos!

This is helpful. Thank you. It might be helpful to people who haven't heard of a Kegel to find a way to edit the "key goal" that RUclips has put in the captioned words.
