Despite the fact we’re mitigating the aftermath of storm damage here in the Houston area (had winds clocking in at 97 mph at Bush Intercontinental), with tons of folks with downed trees and power lines, and not having power for two days so far- I’m SO happy I was able to see this vid, and it is amazing how so many issues you’ve brought up with your Antinet/ZK journey have mirrored my own. For the last week and a half or so, I’ve noticed my process slowing down, and I’m not creating as many cards as I did in the beginning. The first thing I thought was, “Was this all a fad? Am I losing steam? Did I fall for another ‘thing’?”
In the beginning, I was working on “knowledge development” for several hours each day, and then I got to a point where I felt creatively spent, and I wasn’t working on other things, like music or art. However, once I looked at what I had done, and then tempered my expectations with regard to Main Card creation, and how even if I install one card a day or week, it is still more than I had done before in terms of actual genuine knowledge development; and, more importantly, UNIQUE writing.
Now, I’m not concerned at all about my card creation output or pace. But for a little while there, it felt like a “Dark Night of the Zettelkasten Soul,” haha 🤪

You should get a tab punch. If you catch it on sale...it's one of those things that can be a workhorse at a reasonable price. I like the squared one better than the green-type one that says PUNCH on it...but I have both. That way, you can make as many dividers as you want, and color code with highlighters or use colored papers, or use junk male, etc. The possibilities are endless. Plus, as an added bonus, whatever material you use can add as a memory aid.

Can you give a link to what a tap punch looks like or who makes them. I tried to search for it on the Internet. I was unsuccessful.

Failure is okay. If you highlight your goal, and the attempts you’ve made towards that goal that didn’t work, you are saving time for other people. There is value in saving other people from wasting time. Also, there is value in putting something out there, and letting somebody else answer that question. Also inherent value in RUclips ad revenue..

Hello! Fellow neurospicy guy here; investigating the ZK method the past couple months and have been struggling to find sufficiently spelled out explanations on the method. Especially since I desire mastery in my knowledge so that I may tweak the system slightly to ny benefit.
I am a heavily interdisciplinary sorta learner and in addition to juat uaing like, orange ink for page numbers, I'd like to have a couple of subjects/lines of thought in index cards that are not white. Maybe start w/ 1-3 such colors for speciifc topics of high interest? I could have the cards be related to a big question I have on that particular subject? 🤷‍♂️
😹 All this to say, I look forward to watching more of your vids and getting started on my own modified Zettelkasten soonish.

In the video “I screwed up but I learned a lot” he says they are titles of books he has “scouted” or read without taking extensive notes on
